Curious really- I'm due at the beginning of Jan and will be visiting relatives for Christmas when I'll be 38 weeks. It wouldn't be a disaster if I went into labour when I was away, I'd just have to go to the local hospital and I'm guessing this must happen fairly frequently? But would love to know how far along people were when they had their first!

34+2 with DD1 - no prior warning or indication. I was still in work at the time!

Currently 36+4 with DC2 and am counting down the days.

I had my first at 36+2. I was at my parents' home so totally different hospital. It wasn't an issue.
My second was due on Christmas Day. So we came to my parents anyway and thought what would be would be. He came on the 28th, so 40+3.
The only trouble with this was that my parents didn't want me to leave afterwards!
I had my twins at my home hospital but had spent the weeks before with my parents as DH was working away - no problem with swapping my antenatal care. I wanted to go home for the birth. Again my parents really tried to make me stay. I only just managed it - drove home Friday, DH arrived back on Saturday and they came on the Monday (37+2).
