Currently 11+1, no children 3rd pregnancy had a natural loss at 7 weeks in Jan and a loss at 14 weeks in June but baby sadly died at 9 was a mmc and had to have medical. Had a gigantic bleed and passed a clot last Wednesday went for a scan and baby was fine wiggling away and they had no idea where the bleed had come from told me to go home and carry on as usual. Bleeding tailed off, went brown but I've had coloured discharge ever since. Today about 11ish I felt a gush and when I sat on the toilet blood just poured out of me this has continued all day, still going now and I've just passed a clot slightly bigger than a 50p. No pain at all and I have booked a private scan for tomorrow morning. Any positive experiences or outcomes?! Really can't handle mc#3 :(

I've had 3 really big bleeds in this pregnancy after the last one I was convinced I had lost the baby but epu brought me right up for a scan and all was ok, I had 2 different areas that were bleeding causing my problems. They said as long as there's no pain it's generally fine but to call them at any point if I get concerned. I'm 12+1 today and haven't bleed for about a week so hoping that's it now xx

I have an SCH and I'm 11 weeks, I have been listening to the heartbeat in between my bleeds with a home Doppler and finding it really easily, this is the only thing that reassured me through this! I know how awful it is :( and I should recommend the Doppler because you have to have a lot of knowledge of where to find the heartbeat and know the difference between the placenta, babies heartbeat and your own which luckily I have had 2 babies before so I know and I work alongside a midwife at a doctors surgery. But this has been a godsend to me and you're roughly the same stage as me x

kpeanut94 · 06/11/2018 12:29

That was meant to say I shouldn't recommend the home Doppler** sorry, but this is personal experience and it brought me a lot of reassurance so just wanted to share, also saved me so much money on private scans in between waiting for scans with the hospital

BellaBash · 06/11/2018 12:34

Hi - just to confirm, I meant the hand held Doppler they use at the scan.....not home use ones. I've never had one and would never recommend.

A scan can show colour, which can then detect whether there's a blood supply to the bleed area.

Apologies for confusion

@xJune88 It will be a worrying time for you. I spent the first 7 months of my pregnancy, in a constant state of worry - analysing everything.

Don't feel worried about seeking reassurance from your midwife or EPU.

Someone once told me this early on in my pregnancy, and it became my mantra (still is) - 'today, I am pregnant'.

Take a small amount of time out each day, to focus your thoughts on you and baby, only allowing positive thoughts in your mind. Xx

Ok rang midwife and epu who said opposite things which has just confused me more. Im rhesus negative too and had the injection last Monday to stop my body attacking baby. Nurse from epu said I didn't need it because I'd be covered for 6 weeks but explained exactly what my bleed was it's not a sch it's an ech which is a extra chrononic hemorrage attached to the sac so i am now shitting myself more. They've booked me in for a scan on Thursday to check baby and bleed. Midwife is adamant I do need injection and has spoken to a hospital and blood transfusion lab who say I need it after every bleed. Confused.com laid in bed worrying about work and the baby and just what I'm going to do. They both advised rest which I won't get at work as I work with 5 year olds and am bending constantly. Waiting for a phonecall from midwife who said she will get a definitive answer for me. And I hate to admit I do have a doppler and I know how to use it checked this morning and found babies heartbeat straight away at over 150bpm she loves hiding (I said she 😯) right near my pubic bone. The first few times I used it I could just hear my own heartbeat from the placenta but was defo baby. Somehow it doesn't reassure me when I'm pouring with blood and even epu can't give me answers. Scary stuff!! X

So scary OP. All my successful pregnancies I bled through like you. No cause found. But I am a B+ so didn't have that added worry.

PickleSarnie · 06/11/2018 13:27

I had one just after my first scan (that had been booked for too early). I think it was coming up for 11 weeks.

Stood up out of bed and massive gush of blood. Called NHS Direct (or whatever it's called these days) and they told me to go to A&E because of the amount of blood I was losing. They scanned, found heart beat and a ruddy massive SCH. Sent me home and booked me in for proper scan a few days later. Spent a weekend bleeding heavier than any period I've ever had. When I had the scan, they measured the SCH at 10cm x 10 cm x 3 cm (and that was after all the weekends bleeding). I carried on bleeding for weeks after that. Although it did slow right down eventually. The SCH was still there at my 20week scan.

My son was born, at home, bang on time and totally oblivious to all the stress!!

Hope your bleeding stops soon and fingers crossed for a really uneventful rest of your pregnancy! x

Still bleeding 😴 the first time was a gush for about 30 mins with a clot then done. Second time was about 24 hours. This started about 3am Tuesday morning and it's still going ☹ fed up. X

@xJune88 Bless you. I really do feel for you and can totally empathise with how you feel.

I felt it was never going to end, and it did take a good 5 or so weeks to completely stop. My midwife said to me that as long as it's not 'new' blood i.e. bright red or painful, to try and go with it. She also said that often, when you get to about 20/24 weeks, the bleeding should settle.

Every case is different I suppose but do keep talking to your midwife, etc. X

xJune88 · 07/11/2018 13:01

Mine is always bright red which makes it all the more fun wooo. But mine is a ongoing bleed that's happening now so I understand not an old bleed that gets knocked I think. Have a scan tomorrow at 8.50 x

This baby is driving me insane haha. Baby is fine was stood on it's head! Bleed is still there and ever so slightly bigger but the nurse pretty much told me not to worry about it (easier said than done) and it will come out when it's ready so again for today i am relieved and ok. Who knows how long it will last but today baby is ok! 13+3 🤞 thankyou all xx

Wonderful news x

bobstersmum · 08/11/2018 11:31

Only just seen this thread but wanted to tell you I had a huge bleed with my first I was 16 weeks, ambulance came it was that bad, I bled for 3 weeks with clots then one day it suddenly stopped. My child is almost 6 now. I didn't bleed at all with second but I had a short bleed with third at around 9 weeks. Try to rest as mix as you can and good luck for the rest of your pregnancy.

Branleuse · 08/11/2018 11:49

I had a bleed of bright red blood when I was pregnant with ds2. It was fine.

Mrstobe90 · 08/11/2018 14:21

So happy for you xx
