Currently 11+1, no children 3rd pregnancy had a natural loss at 7 weeks in Jan and a loss at 14 weeks in June but baby sadly died at 9 was a mmc and had to have medical. Had a gigantic bleed and passed a clot last Wednesday went for a scan and baby was fine wiggling away and they had no idea where the bleed had come from told me to go home and carry on as usual. Bleeding tailed off, went brown but I've had coloured discharge ever since. Today about 11ish I felt a gush and when I sat on the toilet blood just poured out of me this has continued all day, still going now and I've just passed a clot slightly bigger than a 50p. No pain at all and I have booked a private scan for tomorrow morning. Any positive experiences or outcomes?! Really can't handle mc#3 :(

Yes in my last 2 pregnancys. I had a heamtoma with both and the amount of blood was awful, bright red with big clots, went brown and I bled for about 5 weeks both times. Hope your scan goes well. X

53rdWay · 28/10/2018 08:28

Yes, twice, at around 13 weeks/14 weeks. Bright red, clots, soaking through pads, so much blood they kept me in hospital overnight for one of them. It was terrifying but the baby was fine both times and they couldn't see any reason for the bleed on the scan.

Best wishes for your scan today.

So bloody happy!!!!!! Baby is perfect she couldn't find any reason for bleed and she's put me at 12 weeks today ❤

Congratulations! What a huge relief for you! Grin Flowers
I had a very scary bleed (with no other symptoms at all) at 14 weeks. They scanned and baby was all ok, they couldn't find a reason for the bleed at all. Pregnancy can be terrifying!

MrsOrMiss · 28/10/2018 11:01

Great news!

My last pregnancy was awful, I bled heavily every for a few days every 2/3 weeks right up to the 24th week. They couldn't explain why or how to stop it, it was really scary.
DD2 will be 21 in January.

Mrstobe90 · 28/10/2018 11:30

Amazing!! So happy for you xxx

JellycatElfie · 28/10/2018 11:39

So happy for you! I’m convinced you’re having a little girl, too.

HollidayArmadillo · 28/10/2018 11:39

Ah brilliant news! Grin

As an aside - I never got scan pics from EPU, said they don't do them there Confused

xJune88 · 28/10/2018 11:44

Thankyou all. @HollidayArmadillo I havent been to epu today I went private but when I last went to epu they gave me a picture because of my 'history' and the scanner on the day must of felt sympathetic I've been to the epu about 20 times for 3 pregnancies and only had one picture x

Excellent news! Another one here with huge bleeds, clots etc with no reason ever found. Continued to bleed for a few months - horribly stressful and I really feel for you.
At a later date I found I had a uterine septum that was never picked up through my first pregnancy and I wonder if that had something to do with why I always bled early in both my successful and unsuccessful pregnancies .
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

Hi.
December last year, we found out we'd miscarried at our 12 week scan. March 2018, we fell pregnant again.
At 14 weeks I had a huge gush of bright red blood, that would not stop. I obviously thought the worst.

After internals, scans etc - they diagnosed a subchorionic Haematoma. This is basically a bruise within the many layers of uterus tissue, that accumulates a pool of blood and the only way for it to release is via the uterus. I bled on and off for about 5/6 weeks. I had several trips to the early pregnancy unit and passed many clots, one being well over 10cms in diameter.

Got to my 5 month scan and baby was still fine and growing well. Was put under the consultant and had another growth scan at 28 weeks.....and baby was already weighing 2lbs 10oz and flipping around without a care in the world. My final consultant explained the Haematoma in the best way I'd heard to date: basically, early in pregnancy the placenta would have attached and probably then moved slightly, leaving a bruise/indentation as to where it originally was. The blood vessels in the uterine lining need to 'accept' the blood vessels from the placenta and allow it to attach. This area obviously objected to the placenta and refused to let the uterus vessels die off and allow the placenta to attach and grow. The placenta would have then tried to reattach slightly elsewhere. The original spot that part of the placenta tried to attach to would then cause an area prone to bleeding. The blood pools and eventually has no where else to go, but out via the uterus. There is a small risk to the baby, but it all depends where the bleeding is in relation to the placenta, etc. Also, once the bleeding has finished, the Haematoma (shows as a shadow in scan) can disappear. This happened to me at my 28 week scan - it had been reabsorbed into the body.

Fingers crossed, all is well. I'm 35 weeks and 3 days now.

Sorry for the essay - but I know how utterly terrifying this can be.

All the best!

Hope all goes well OP. Had a bleed at around 14-16 weeks with both my babies. Both are fine..... unexplained bleeding. A 4 year old and 15 month old. Thinking of you this morning Flowers

Smilenow2008 · 29/10/2018 17:34

I bled from 8 weeks on and off all the way through with baby no1 and he is now nearly 10. Currently pregnant with baby no3 no issues except spd with the other two, xxx

Owlettele · 29/10/2018 17:52

Aww congrats OP. Fab news and fab piccys!!

kpeanut94 · 29/10/2018 20:18

@BellaBash you explained that perfectly!
I am a SCH case too and nobody has explained it the way you have. I love hearing the positive stories and I have been worrying myself to the point of physical sickness.
So just wanted to thank you!

BellaBash · 29/10/2018 20:32

No problem at all.....I’m no medical expert, but this explanation made sense to me. Blood and pregnancy is not a natural combo, and I for one will never be complacent about pregnancy again. When you really sit and think about it, the whole pregnancy thing is as absolute miracle in itself and I’m grateful every day to have got this far. Xx

kpeanut94 · 29/10/2018 20:41

This was my SCH from my scan on Saturday, perfect half crescent shape by the sac measuring 29mm. Not the most ideal of circumstances but I guess it's nice to know what's going on with your body.

I think our bodies just go into combat mode and you can only hope for no further complications.

Your bub is doing good to get to 35 weeks, pregnancy is amazing even if these bleeds and SCH's do make us feel slightly robbed of a smooth pregnancy.

Good luck to all, hope you deliver happy/healthy babies.

MrsJane · 29/10/2018 21:31

I was in a lot of pain from about 4 weeks till around 9 weeks and then had a huge bleed at 23 weeks and again at 26 weeks. Admitted to hospital but no feasible reason they could find.

Rest of the pregnancy went very smoothly and my healthy 8lbs 6oz dd was born the day before her due date, completely perfect. She's now a lovely cheeky 6 year old!

xJune88 · 01/11/2018 11:11

Had nuchal scan today she found a bruise which looked like it was causing the bleeding actually glad to have an answer it's only tiny and she said it won't effect anything so fingers crossed! Xx

What great news. I missed the earliest scan update!

xJune88 · 06/11/2018 05:44

Pouring with blood for the 3rd time this pregnancy it really is testing me :( no pain again. At my nuchal scan she said she could see a small bleed outside the sac which she said was causing the bleeding. Petrified it's going to effect baby I just want this bleeding to stop! X

Flowers Take it one day at a time, that's the only way to get through. We're here, listening, holding your hand and wishing for the best for you.
Mrstobe90 · 06/11/2018 06:50

Sending you hugs!

BellaBash · 06/11/2018 07:08

@xJune88 Absolutely make sure you rest - doctor/midwife should sign you off work (if applicable). If you can, try to refrain from using your stomach muscles at all i.e. bending over, lifting (lifting anything really), etc.I was told to carry on as normal, but every time I moved, I bled heavily, so chose to take things really easy. That said, it's maybe good that it's draining.

Be prepared for this to completely drain you and make you, physically, very tired indeed. I found even making the bed to be exhausting. Keep up your pregnancy vitamins.

At the scan, did they say whether the bleed area had a vascular feed - meaning, there are blood vessels active around the bleed area? This can be detected when they turn the colour on when using the Doppler.

Don't be afraid of going back to EPU and asking for another scan.....I was in and out of hospital for a total of 5/6 days, over the course of a week and a half resulting in my having some sort of emotional breakdown at reception, after a 5 hour wait, to be told they had no time to scan me. Needless to say, they got me in the very next available day.

Do take care and keep us posted. Xx

xJune88 · 06/11/2018 09:57

I haven't gone to work today I'm staying in bed to hopefully stop it or slow it down. I just want to cry my eyes out this is my 3rd pregnancy after 2 losses and I just want it to be ok. I should be 'safe but I'm not :( sonographer didn't say she just said it was a sch and 2.4cm so she said it wouldn't effect the pregnancy but how can she know that? Im also annoyed I haven't been offered another scan to check if it grows or not. Will ring epu just to see what they advise I'm also rhesus negative which makes it 200x more stressful but they gave me the anti d 8 days ago so am I covered or do i need another? Thankyou all x
