Anyone have morning sickness and not throw up?

I’ve struggled with an anxiety disorder and emetophobia for years, and worrying about morning sickness was my main concern about getting pregnant.

Does anyone have any positive stories about having nausea from morning sickness, and not throwing up? I know people tend to say that the nausea was the worst part and throwing up gave them a bit of relief, but it wouldn’t work like that for me, I have panic attacks at the thought of throwing up.

There are so many threads on here about bad morning sickness, which makes sense as those people are likely to need support and suggestions for what might help, but it makes me so anxious that I need to hear the opposite!

I felt sea sick for the first 15 weeks then it went away! Veggies made me want to vom so I lived on toast mainly. Normal service resumed in trimester 2 but my love for toast never went away, paying for it now with over a stone to shift

Yes - also has morning nausea for the first 4 months but never threw up.

My morning sickness started one morning when I woke up and vomited but after that it was just constant waves of nausea, up until 16 weeks, like a sea sickness. I never threw up again.

Fellow emetophobe here. First pregnancy, I vomited about 4 times, had unrelenting nausea from morning to night for the first 10 weeks. Though I remained terrified if being sick, it wasnt as bad as its built it up to be, and I actually felt so much better for an hour or so afterwards. It was worth it, though not to the extent that I can just let my body vomit easily!

Second pregnacy, the unrelenting nausea is back and still going strong at 13 weeks. I've only vomited once (which again afterwards was a blessed relief), but I'm retching 10-20 times a day.

My body has become so used to not making myself sick, that it takes a lot to actually throw up (I went a decade without it). Emetophobia or not though, after 3 months of feeling like you have norovirus, it doesn't always seem like such a horrifying idea any more - after the first time anyway.

Morning sickness just felt like mild travel sickness for me, I never threw up. My mum was the same (even with twin girls!), and my sister only felt sick when her MIL rendered pork in her flat.

Hi @MeredithGrey1 I had severe nausea and motion sickness but didn't throw up. It wasn't much fun. Some people get no sickness or nausea so you might be lucky :)

Former Emet’ here. I was terrified to get pregnant because of the risk of sickness. I felt sick, I retched (mainly when hungry) but was never actually sick. I think as emets we are able to overpower the nausea so we’re not actually sick

Currently 9 weeks pregnant with my 3rd and have had terrible all day nausea in first trimester with all of them but never actually vomited. Also a previous emetophobe, since having my children it has improved weirdly
