I cannot bear to read any more online reviews about them. I just need recommendations please!

I'm looking for a pram that:

  • Can be used from birth (probably with carrycot which I'm planning on using for daytime naps too)
  • Has a base that folds up small-ish - needs to be able to fit into a cupboard for storage, and I'm going to have to carry it up and down three front door steps every time I leave the house...
  • Is good for fairly tall parents - I'm just under 6 ft and DH is just over
  • Can cope with city use/public transport/buses as well as country walks (not massively off road, but gravel tracks, grass paths etc)
  • Ideally can be used with Joie/maxi-cosi adapters as my SIL has given us their Joie carseat so would like to clip in and out
  • Doesn't require me to take out a second mortgage - really don't want to spend too much if at all possible

I was looking at the Cosatto Giggle 2 but I'm worried it won't be very good off road.

Help please!

Another for baby jogger city mini! Our third pram and best!!

PersisFord · 28/09/2018 19:19

BJ city mini or out n about nipper. One of those 2. And I would use a sling for public transport, about a million times easier!

Bowlofbabelfish · 28/09/2018 19:21

Easywalker mosey?

SparkyBlue · 28/09/2018 19:45

OP the Uppababy is expensive but they are built like tanks and will take a battering. They are well worth the money. I have a six year old Vista and it's still in great condition. It was well worth it.

Sunshiness · 28/09/2018 19:52

We have the cosatto and love it. Taken it on a fair few walks in the countryside and it's been fine.

Another vote for the baby jogger city mini. I inherited a Phil and teds and a maclaren, and the baby jogger was so much better. DH is 6'3" and had no issues.

My DCs are long our of pushchairs but I still really miss it when I have to carry shopping home!

Decemberly · 28/09/2018 20:37

I would avoid the Venicci - we were all set on buying it as friends recommended it and it is very good value for money BUT I am the same height as you and kicked the central foot brake with every step I took in the shop. We got an iCandy peach in the end on a very good deal, otherwise the Uppababy Vista would have been our other option. We nearly drove ourselves insane reading endless reviews, it is a relief when you finally make a decision!

igglypiggly · 28/09/2018 20:37

Another vote for uppababy. Amazing customer service and v good for tall people - my dp is 6ft3 and finds it comfortable

coffeekittens · 28/09/2018 20:47

Have you looked at an icandy orange? They fold up with the seat unit on and icandy are fantastic pushchairs, I had a peach with DD, amazing pushchair!

PickettBowtruckles · 28/09/2018 20:53

We got the Nuna Demi grow - very easy to collapse down and light, also will connect to the joie car seat as we were advised to get a joie one when we bought the pram. It also can be turned into a double for any future children which we loved.

Fefifoefum · 28/09/2018 20:56

Stokke xplory, I’m 6ft, it’s not just the handle that’s high, the whole seat/bassinet is.
Expensive new, but you can buy one 2nd hand reasonably.

ChipsAndKetchup · 28/09/2018 20:58

iCandy prams are fantastic. Really really good.

seeingdots · 28/09/2018 21:00

I love our babyjogger city mini now but worth noting that it's forward facing only once they're out of the carrycot. I eventually got something else 2nd hand that could do parent-facing as my DD hated forward facing until she was close to a year old if I remember rightly.

oreolovegood · 28/09/2018 21:01

We've got the mothercare journey. Can be used from birth. I'm 5ft2 my husband is 6ft4 and it's fine for us both. So easy to collapse and take apart, can put the car seat onto it and has good sized basket in the bottom as well. Would recommend it x

Bluebelltulip · 28/09/2018 21:05

Joie chrome, extendable handle, taken on many trains/busses no problems, adapters for your car seat, when in pram mode folds in one piece for easy carrying/storage.

HayCaramba · 28/09/2018 21:14

Babyjogger City Mini. Love mine.

SoftSheen · 28/09/2018 21:18

Out n about nipper is great and very good value.

Get a sling or baby carrier too, many newborns are happier in them and they are much more practical whilst baby is small and light.

sittingonacornflake · 28/09/2018 21:19

Baby jogger city mini

Anon10 · 28/09/2018 21:21

Bugaboo bee! It’s the best, esp if you live in a city. It’s really light too and folds small. Really easy to steer. Mine has lasted two babies and now my eldest (2.5 year old) rides a buggy board attached to it and it copes well with that.

babystripes · 28/09/2018 21:55

I've went for a venicci 😊

myotherbagisgucci · 28/09/2018 22:00

Joie chrome! 👌🏼

Kimmyx · 28/09/2018 22:05

I have a venicci. Looks stylish but is also very practical and can’t wait to use it when our little girl makes her appearance.

itsgoingtoofast · 28/09/2018 23:22

Baby jogger city mini GT with a deluxe carrycot. Compatible with maxi cosi, ticks all your boxes. Amazing pushchair. Can't go wrong!

SuperVeggie · 29/09/2018 15:51

Right, I spent all morning in John Lewis and mothercare! I looked at EVERYTHING. I still like the cosattos, the giggle 2 and the wow, mainly because they are lightweight and fold up small and have a tiny turning circle. I have also found bundles online with carrycot included for £300 (giggle 2) and £350 (wow) which seems good. Wow seems better than giggle for height adjustable handle. However I get that they are not really for off-road.

I looked at the baby jogger city GT and the suspension looks fab but it is far too big for where we want to store it. And I'm also worried that it will be big for taking to cafes etc and get in the way a bit.

I looked at the uppababy Cruz and vista, the vista is a bit bigger but the Cruz seems really good. It was lovely to push and the way it folds up is ideal for where we need to keep it. Seems great for tall people. Again though, not off road friendly. I've found it online in a bundle with carry cot for £479 which is a bargain compared to normal price of £800.

I'm not sure there's anything that will be good off road AND be small and light enough for what we want. So... what I'm thinking is that we should perhaps get two different pushchairs? One for day to day, either cosatto or uppababy, which we will use from birth. When the baby is this small we will be able to use the sling if we're going walking/off-road. Then when the baby is a few months old I could try and buy a baby jogger second hand, for off-road use. We have a shed/summer house thing we could easily keep it in if it wasn't for daily use. We also wouldn't have to worry about it being car seat compatible. Does this sound a sensible solution or am I going mad?

Considered the Joie chrome but it is also too big...
