No baby movement hospital said its fine?

Hi I require urgent advice please.
I am 36 + 3 days pregnant. I cannot feel the baby move at all. I went to the hospital at 35 weeks and was kept overnight for monitoring, however the midwifes keep saying the baby is fine because the ctg heart beat is showing between 130-180 bpm and there is no steady line so the baby is fine?? Is this normal? My baby is usually very very active. It's been 7 days and I haven't felt no movement. I have been going to the hospital everyday to get monitored.

Go back for a second opinion! Don't risk it,
Go as many times as you feel x

Aaarrrggghh · 04/09/2018 22:42

Push it. Speak to someone else. Phone your midwife or speak to your consultant, if you have one. You know your baby's patterns best!

BetterEatCheese · 04/09/2018 22:44

Definitely go back, not worth the risk. You know your body and your baby

BellMcEnd · 04/09/2018 22:46

Trust your instincts. Go back and keep going back. All the best.

I went in because I couldn't feel movements I ended up having an emergency c section that night. My baby was very poorly but thankfully made a full recovery. They told me it was a good job I came in when I did. Definitely get a second opinion. I'm not a medical expert my baby's heart rate was dropping, and they've told you yours is normal, so you should be fine but if your worried keep asking them to check. Midwives and doctors are hot on reduced movements and take it seriously. Hope everything is all ok for you Thanks

bangourvillagebesttimeever · 04/09/2018 22:46

I used to count kicks with the last and if there was a change in movements it’s taken seriously. You have clearly been checked daily but I would ask to speak to one of the consultants.

Zamin1 · 04/09/2018 22:51

Thanks for the fast responses.. Iv been back many times but they keep saying the same thing. Your baby is fine don't worry about it. Even the Dr said the same thing. But surely if I can't feel any movement, and just heart beat there is a problem?..i keep getting turned away and being told its fine but I'm very worried.

Just go now if you can.

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 04/09/2018 22:55

However if the baby is big you do feel less if they are a bit squeezed. When did you last go?

Zamin1 · 04/09/2018 22:56

Iv just come back from the hospital about 3hrs ago.. My daily routine has become going to the hospital around 12pm and coming back around 6pm, getting monitored twice a day.

have they explained why your baby isn’t moving?

Septembermummy1 · 04/09/2018 22:56

Keep pushing it. No matter how irritated they may get, most won't but there are some moody ones. Its good that the heart rate is fine. But obviously you will still be worried any mother would be. Maybe ask if you can be monitored over night?

DaisyLand · 04/09/2018 22:58

Where is your placenta ? If anterior then it can be a nightmare. I would not need my baby every now and again. From week 29 I went 10 times cuz of movements. Ctgs and scans were always fine

Hope everything is ok.

Zamin1 · 04/09/2018 22:59

They have no reason for why the baby is not moving. Even when I have asked them they have no clue...as for being monitored overnight I did this last week which I was monitored around 3am then 5am and same result notbing.

They will be reassured because the heartbeat is varying and is within the expected margins.

When my baby stopped moving, his heartbeat was present but didn't vary at all during monitoring, it was completely flat. He wasn't registering any movements at all on the trace.

Have they noted any kicks that you haven't felt but that are on the trace?

Zamin1 · 04/09/2018 23:04

They haven't told me if they have noted any kicks on the trace which I haven't felt. I will ask them this tommrow.

So generally speaking if the ctg as the midwife said is "textbook perfect" would this mean my baby is fine?

Mummyme87 · 04/09/2018 23:11

It would mean your baby isfine at that given moment. If normal, it has no predictive value. Have you had a scan to check blood flow and growth?

Septembermummy1 · 04/09/2018 23:11

If the ctg is fine then thats a good sign. When I went in I was monitored for an hour on movements pressing the button when I felt one (I didn't). Then I was taken into a room where they monitored the heart rate. My babies was going from normal to dropping drastically. It turns out I was having contractions and she wasn't coping which is why I was taken up for a c section. The fact that your ctg is normal is good.

Septembermummy1 · 04/09/2018 23:12

I agree with mummyme ask about the blood flow as well.

Zamin1 · 04/09/2018 23:16

I have a scan which is booked in for next week September 14th which they will check the growth and blood flow.

I appreciate the reassurance knowing the heart rate being there means the baby is fine. I will continue going in daily to get monitored until the baby is born. Thank you everyone!

Go back as many times as you want. Trust your instincts. Can you not have a scan?

hlr1987 · 04/09/2018 23:22

Can you ask them to schedule a scan to reassure you? I always found that they would wriggle when I was being scanned- perhaps if you could see the baby move and put that with whatever you are/aren't feeling it would make you worry less? There's lots of reasons you feel less later in pregnancy, they have much less room, are sleeping for longer periods, the placenta and fluid around it can mask some of the movement. It probably is fine though, but keep asking if you're alarmed by it.

Kt2108 · 05/09/2018 09:45

Could you see the paper when you were being monitored? I was in last week with reduced movements and could see the paper so could see movements that I couldn't actually feel- I do have an anterior placenta though! Agreed with everyone above, continue with monitoring and trusting your gut, its simply not worth it any other way! Keep us updated :) ! x

jellyandsoup · 05/09/2018 09:49

So are they asking you to go in twice a day? If the ctgs are showing good variability that is a good sign but normally they loom.at inducing after repeated episodes of reduced movements. Good luck

Zamin1 · 07/09/2018 15:11

Hi I have continued to go into hospital over the last few days. I haven't felt much very little kicks. I am exactly 37 weeks today.. I went to the hospital today morning and the midwife said they have agreed to induce me.. I just had my sweep and have been booked in for a induction on Monday. Midwife said my cervix is very soft already.

Anyone else been induced before? How long did it take for you to go into labour after being induced?

Thanks.
