MrsMattie · 01/05/2008 14:30

Yes, I trawl it regularly!@nappy

nappyaddict · 01/05/2008 14:32

maybe i can help. i love trying to find baby names. do you want something with a specific meaning, are there any sounds you particularly like, any family origins you would like to include?

MrsMattie · 01/05/2008 14:34

For boys - I like biblical names, Irish names (I'm Irish), something unusual but not weird

For girls - I'm a sucker for feminine sounding names ending in 'a', but can't find any DH likes. Again, nothing too well used.

My son's name is biblical but not funky.

nappyaddict · 01/05/2008 14:39

erm just off the top of my head shaun, jack, jonathon, samuel, joshua, brendan, martin, christopher, paul, ciaran, andrew, matthew, thomas, john, luke, daniel, michael.

MrsMattie · 01/05/2008 14:44

I quite like Samuel, although it is much more common than my son's name...Ditto to Ciaran, but DH not keen

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 20/06/2008 12:27

springerspaniel · 08/07/2008 09:29

B*gger. Have just skim read entire thread. Still no idea. I think my problem is two fold -

(1) I am quite conservative in my name preferences
(2) I am a right grumpy cow and dislike too many people so can always think of someone with a particular name

I love Molly as my great aunty molly is great fun and still goes dancing, even though she is nearly 90!

Bizarrely DH's brother's dog died recently. It was really, really ugly and very bad tempered. It's name...Molly. DH is unmovable. Like the earlier poster who put post-it notes with the name on everywhere. Am going to try that. Maybe if I attach chocolate to the post-it, he will get positive reinforcement with the name? [hmmm]

Girl - gypsy

becaroo · 24/07/2008 19:15

I am due in september and already have a ds called Thomas Luke.

This one is also a boy and my ds has chosen his names.....Toby George

nappyaddict · 24/07/2008 23:31

wow you were brave letting your ds choose the name. how old is he_

becaroo · 25/07/2008 12:39

He was 5 in June

Bit miffed I didnt get a say at all though.....I just have to carry and give birth to him!!!

Was a bit worried as in May - before we found out it was a boy - he solemnly told me that if it was a boy he wanted to call it "nicey" and if it was a girl "yucky"

(I wanted to call my brother Virgil and was very annoyed when my parents named him Paul....)

kimskibleue · 25/07/2008 13:56

No 1 fav at the moment is
Taylor Ray for a boy
Taylor Rai for a girl

others
Girl -Dakota Joy
Girl - Scarlet Eve
Boy - Jackson Lee
Boy - Mackenzie Sheil

Not due til Feb so plenty time......
