We've chosen the name Sophia if it's a girl (due in 4 weeks), but really stuck for a boy's name...we were first time round too, have a soon to be 4 year old dd who's name is Ava. Prob is dh is Italian and tradition in his part of the world is that the child is named after the dh's parents. That would mean my son would be called Luigi - no offense to any Luigis out there but it's NOT happening this time!
I really like Orlando, Dante and Freddie...

nappyaddict · 17/03/2008 00:07

i like dante to but at my sons nursery there are 3 of them in the same group called dante they are all either 3 or 4 so that names growing
ive just finished my reaching job and the amount of bens, the name tre and toms were astounding, along with loads of tylers
quite a lot of grace there and molly and 4 lily looks like all the old names coming back
with my new one it was a choice of orlando
samuel, carlos,or dakota, which there are none in the school at all
its so confusing isnt it to give them a nice name as some names just dont suit them as newborns,
good luck with the name choosing

nappyaddict · 19/03/2008 15:28

how are the girl's names pronounced?

jeanjeannie · 19/03/2008 16:10

We had such a difficult time with names to go with a surname people can rarely pronounce. Our dd1 is Iris Katharine and dc2 (due soonish) has no name - as we can't choose! Like Ivan or Samuel for a boy and Krista or Verity for a girl..........then again we just may call it Bob...like our cat

amyjade · 19/03/2008 16:32

I'm 32 weeks with my third and struggling! We have 2 girls and I think this may well be a girl too.
What do you ladies think of Tabitha (probably shortened to Tabs or Tabby I suppose), Clemmie or Tilly, any favs?
Boys names I'm really struggling with but so far like Finn or Jamie, if Jamie would everyone automatically think of Jamie Oliver and are there loads of Jamies out there?
My 2 girls I have are called Lottie and Rosie so now I'm thinking this one should end in 'ie' too and be an 'old' name rather than modern as wouldn't fit. Any other 'old' name suggestions for either sex??
Thanks!

Sorry, 2beautifulgirls, but I hate to see the name Kimberley being spelt Kymberlee like that, and the name Georgia being spelt Jorja. They're such beautiful names why would you change them to that!

nappyaddict · 28/03/2008 01:00

I don't like kymberlee either, but i think jorja is actually another way of spelling it officially. like amy, aimee etc

larkone · 30/03/2008 19:46

my two are called harmony and faith which i think are diff but not too different but mine is lark an i think that maybe its too unusual

nappyaddict · 06/04/2008 09:29

i heard someone calling the name skylar the other day at the park which is quite unusual. can be used for either gender i think.
