I’m looking at some of the bedside cribs as I don’t really like Moses baskets and was just wondering if you could give me some ideas of which ones you have and prefer.
Thanks in advance x

Following if that's ok :)

I've been looking at the Chicco Next to Me but am open to others.

LivLemler · 28/06/2018 16:00

We have the next to me dream. Love having DD so close but wish we'd bought the original model. Before she was born I was worried about my covers going into the crib. Now though i wish I could just slide DD from our bed to the crib.

DD doesn't settle that well in it, but I think that's a reflux thing rather than the crib itself.

Kate123cl · 28/06/2018 16:08

Following too if that's okaySmile

KentUnicorn · 28/06/2018 16:21

I loved the Chicco next to me. Was sad to move DS out at 6 months.

Notquiteagandt · 28/06/2018 16:21

Look at snuzpod. Natural matteress and cotton. I always thought the chico seemed a bit plasticy. But thats just my opinion.

Rideforthehills · 28/06/2018 16:25

Also following - I was going for the Chicco next-to-me on the basis that it was light enough pack up and take with us if visiting but has anyone with one actually tried that? If that isn't practical I'd probably go Snuzpod - purely on aesthetics!

Cineraria · 28/06/2018 16:31

I have a BabyBay Maxi. I like the fact that it can be used for much longer than most (DS1 went in it occasionally until DS2 was born the week he turned two), looks really nice, makes a completely flat surface from crib to bed and is very adjustable for different height beds.

I planned to have another child after the one I was expecting and it pleased me that it could be used for twins to be put in together if we ended up with twins. It can also be used as a children's sofa when it is outgrown.

We've bought the tutti bambini cozee as the chicco one really wasn't to my taste. It seems brilliant quality and took seconds to set up and put back in the travel bag again. Haven't used it yet but I'm excited too!

user1906 · 28/06/2018 17:53

We have a snuzpod 2, not only is it a beautiful piece of furniture but it has multiple uses and lasts longer than a moses basket.

You can have it attached to your bed for co sleeping, as a stand alone crib or take off the crib and take it into a different room (similar to a moses in that respect)

They retail expensive but we got ours off facebook marketplace for £90, bargain Smile

Bluebirdsky · 28/06/2018 18:03

We have got the Tutti Bambini Cozee, we preferred it to the next to me when we compared them both and also liked the fact that it folds flat into a handy travel bag as we will be going to visit family regularly so chose this rather than a wooden style crib.
It's also got a handy shelf underneath which is great for keeping nappies, wipes etc.

MagicalCreatures · 28/06/2018 20:15

Wow thanks for the responses. I’ll look into these.
I didn’t want to spend too much but I understand the cribs are way more expensive then Moses baskets.
But I like the idea that they go up to 6 months where as I’ve noticed Moses baskets only hold them up to 3 months.
Precious little ones online are selling the ouster one for £89 at the moment but it does look abit cheap compared to the Chicco x

Definitely the Snuzpod. I was so lucky to find a second hand one on Sphock for £30. Bought a brand new mattress for £20 and its like new! I think £195 is a bit steep for original price. But it is a beautiful piece of furniture. You can rock it too and like someone else said take the top off and use it as a moses basket downstairs. Perfect!

We had the chicco next2me for DS and used to pack it back into the bag at least every other week to stay my parents and took it away on holiday twice. Super quick and easy. It is back out and ready to be used again for DDs imminent arrival!

Camsie30 · 28/06/2018 20:45

Another vote for the Snuzpod. Absolutely loved it when my daughter was a newborn. Its now on its third baby (leant to friends) and going strong!

Blondemother · 28/06/2018 21:02

Chicco here - packed it up and took it with us to see relatives/holidays, really think it helped keep baby relatively settled.

Loved it and would highly recommend.

MagicalCreatures · 28/06/2018 21:04

Ooo the Snuzpod is getting a lot of votes here. Is it easy to move around though because I would need to move it every day from my bedroom to the living room.
My bedroom isn’t being enough. I only have just enough room down by the side of my bed to fit one x

I had the Chicco next to me snuzpod; it was very good for feeding at night, breastfeeding and bottle. Having the side down meant I could keep my hand in my LO to help her get off to sleep, but also to drag her into bed if needed! Likewise though could have both sides up and use it as a travel cot when LO is small enough.

Used it to help transition DD into her own room too; just lifted the top off and put it in her cot bed so she acclimatised to her new room whilst being in her familiar crib. I would definitely recommend it.

Following...thank you!! 😁

xMrsAx · 28/06/2018 21:59

I got the Knuma huddle as our superking bed was too tall for any of the others to be compatible 😣 we really liked it though x

Verbena87 · 28/06/2018 22:05

We got the ikea Gulliver cot and converted it to a co-sleeper by...

Taking one side off

Putting small blocks under the legs to raise the mattress level with ours

Using cable ties to securely attach it to our bed frame (in several places)

Sliding cot mattress across to meet ours, measuring the gap, and making a firmly stuffed sausage-shaped pillow to go in it (gets covered by cot sheet so not loose).

It’s been great. He has his own space but it’s also strong enough for me to spread out into if baby’s in the middle. And it’ll convert to a cotbed when he goes into his own room.

balalalala · 28/06/2018 22:10

We have the chicco too and loved it. Also used to pack it up and take it away with us for the night!

BrutusMcDogface · 28/06/2018 22:10

No one has mentioned the bednest; I had one for my last dd. It is quite small I suppose, but I loved it.

Seahawk80 · 28/06/2018 22:31

Chicco next2me. I had an nct bednest and DS is on 25th centile so not big...I had to give it back to my sister when he was 4 months and he was almost too big for it. I borrowed a next2me and was really impressed. Easy to pack up and take away if you need too. Easier to adjust to the height of your bed than he bednest. Also a really good size, easily lasted him til 8 months and then we moved him to his own room but would have lasted longer. The snuzpod looks better but my friend had it and found it not quite big enough from 5 months.

I also have a chicco oh la la buggy and the pocket snack high chair. I find their products have awful names but are well designed and well made!

River93 · 28/06/2018 22:33

Do these next to me cribs work with divan beds with solid base? If so how do they stabilise?
