Okay so it's 9am now and after having something to eat, a hot drink and cold drink my little man hasn't moved. Only trouble is I'm in work now and they're funny buggers. How long do I leave it to see if he moves? Hate troubling MAU x

Glad you’re in being seen. Take care OP, I’ve been where you are with high BP!

Miami81 · 31/05/2018 11:31

Please never ever worry about work. Unless they are medical professionals they haven't an f'ing clue what they are talking about.
Glad you are being seen and cared for.

GimbleInTheWabe · 31/05/2018 11:35

So glad that you went in to be checked. You're always better safe than sorry when it comes to these things.

jellybean218 · 31/05/2018 11:48

Aha it's okay @noseoftralee it was the way I put it :') work just aren't supportive and even go to the point of trying to get me to dig up the cat poop in the garden box because a cat keeps getting in and when I say I can't be around cat poop due to toxoplasmosis I get "good god my mum was in the fields picking potatoes ready to give birth you're only pregnant not ill" they're lovely aren't they Hmm then all sit discussing me the next morning because I won't do it. They're women in their 50's who have had kids so you would think they would be nice! Hey ho, may have to go on medication for high blood pressure they have said but going to have the doctor monitor little more. Thanks again ladies! X

Glad you're both ok. Take it easy

Whitley83 · 31/05/2018 13:02

Don't worry about work, there's nothing that they can do regarding you taking time off.. I'd speak to your Dr and ask for a fit note to be signed off for a few weeks to reduce your strss and HBP. You need to look after yourself so you can look after baby :)

SiolGhoraidh · 31/05/2018 13:24

Hope all is ok. You were clearly justified going in, and your colleagues need a good slap.

It may be time to consider putting them on an information diet. They don't need to know anything other than that you have a medical concern and are going to see a professional about it. Unsolicited advice is a pain in the bump anyway, and these women are actively pressuring you to ignore current medical advice.

WeeBump89 · 31/05/2018 15:58

As a midwife who is pregnant cannot emphasis enough movements. Most of the time it is fine but please get checked!!

Lphil93 · 31/05/2018 16:04

@jellybean218 how is it going? Have they confirmed your both ok?

ReadytoTalk · 31/05/2018 16:36

Im so glad you went to get checked Flowers

jellybean218 · 31/05/2018 17:34

@Lphil93 they have sent me home but I've got go and see my doctor at 8am tomorrow (luckily I have a brilliant surgery who fit you in right away) to see about medication to bring the HBP down and keep it down :) thank you for asking x

@SiolGhoraidh oh I know legally they can't do anything but they love to pressure you and make you feel as though you're a problem. It's ridiculous, you would think a nursing home would be more understanding due to care but nope! Just glad I went up and got checked regardless. Just glad I found out early about the HBP and can get sorted :) x

Thank you to all you ladies who asked about me and gave me advice! Thanks x

Ask your Dr for a certificate to be off work for a week or two ( perhaps bp is due to stress ) put your feet up and enjoy !

Igottastartthinkingbee · 31/05/2018 18:31

Oh good to catch the high BP sooner rather than later. That puts you on the radar for the future and hopefully they’ll keep a close eye on you. Also gives you something concrete to tell work!!! ie 🖕
