Okay so it's 9am now and after having something to eat, a hot drink and cold drink my little man hasn't moved. Only trouble is I'm in work now and they're funny buggers. How long do I leave it to see if he moves? Hate troubling MAU x

Call them
Get seen

You are NOT wasting their time that is what they are there for.

Hope all is ok and baby is just being a little tinker x

Alb1 · 31/05/2018 09:36

Just go in and get checked, the baby's movements are different to normal so just go in and find out for sure. It's always best to check with a professional rather than asking on here, I no from sad experience that the advice here whilst very well meant isn't always correct.

Always better safe than sorry, I'm sure the little one will wake up as soon as you get there, they seem to make a habit of doing that Smile

NoodleKT · 31/05/2018 09:40

Call them!
You aren't bothering them and shouldn't need to ask on here first, they are there for this very reason!

Bluebirdsky · 31/05/2018 09:44

Doing things like drinking cold drinks or eating sugary food to trigger movements is no longer recommended. It's about your regular pattern of movements and if this is altered then you should call the hospital for advice.

MadisonAvenue · 31/05/2018 09:45

Please don't give what work think a second thought. Please get checked out.

ClaireFraser · 31/05/2018 09:54

Call them and go in. That's enough of a change for you to be worried. You are never wasting their time, that's what they're for. Always best to get checked out and be reassured.

I was always told that they would rather see me 100 times and everything be fine, rather than miss something being wrong.

It may well be that baby has simply changed position, but you know your baby.

Work will have to be understanding, you're legally entitled to pregnancy time off, albeit v short notice. They'd have no choice but to manage without you if you got sudden D&V at work, for example, so they have to just lump it.

Best of luck OP, I'm sure all will be fine, but better safe than sorry.

cindersrella · 31/05/2018 09:59

I'd go in! Work would have to be funny! Not much they can do. You and baby come first Smile

SparklyMagpie · 31/05/2018 10:09

I would definitely go in and I wouldnt give a seconds thought about work either.

You and baby always come first

jellybean218 · 31/05/2018 10:17

Ended up ringing MAU and they asked me to come straight up, so I'm on my way there (despite work being funny about me leaving) they just say oh he'll be fine he's having a sleep stop being dramatic. After nearly 5 hours of no movement! Ridiculous x

Glad they are checking baby for you! Better to be safe, we went in about 5 times with DD after 20 weeks, she liked to stop moving so we would go in and they'd hook me up to the machine and she'd start dancing and wriggling away!

FranksBobot · 31/05/2018 10:34

Glad you are on your way to be seen. Hope everything is ok

mommybear1 · 31/05/2018 10:42

So glad you are going to be seen hope he is just being a little drama king Thanks

honeysucklejasmine · 31/05/2018 10:45

Glad you're going in. Your work are awful. How would they feel, if something has happened? Disgusting

LadyFuchsiaGroan · 31/05/2018 10:47

Glad your getting it checked over, hope everything's OK.

Helbelle75 · 31/05/2018 10:52

So pleased you're going in. Sod work, you baby is far more important.

ladymelbourne1926 · 31/05/2018 11:05

Pleased you're going in. Nothing is more important and it's always better safe then sorry.
I hope they are checking now and all is well

flumpybear · 31/05/2018 11:06

I'm sure he's fine, but you're definitely doing the right thing by checking

TodaysMostPopular · 31/05/2018 11:07

If you feel worried enough to post here, always ring MAU.

I used to post here a lot hoping I'd get a response that settled my worries but now know I'd just go in.

SparklyMagpie · 31/05/2018 11:11

Don't even think about work, so glad you're going in to get checked over. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about but it's always better to be too safe

My baby would do this.. Just have quiet mornings! She never really found a routine/pattern of movement. Normally she would move a tiny bit just as I was about to call triage! But it's definitely worth getting checked if you're worried!

noseoftralee · 31/05/2018 11:17

Hmm at your OH response. You are best placed to know what is going on with your baby. He needs to be guided by you

Poetnojo · 31/05/2018 11:21

I think it was works response not OH, "oh he'll be fine". I hope all is well jellybean, it's always better to be safe than sorry.

jellybean218 · 31/05/2018 11:26

Oh yes OH has been amazing he's very supportive it's work saying "oh he'll be fine" just assuming because they don't want me to leave for a couple of hours. Which is daft because it's not like we haven't got the staff for me to leave. They've monitored my little man and his heart rate dropped for a while, but my blood pressure was high so they're questioning hypertension but I also have a lot of stress on so it may be that affecting it. So they're just going over things with the doctor. Thank you for your support ladies it means a lot! Thanks

I had reduced movement on Sunday, I waited a while thinking he’d wake up in a minute then he didn’t and I started really worrying so gave them a call. They were lovely and I’m so glad I called, all was fine and the midwife was lovely. Ended up being induced but I was over my due date. They are really pushing the monitoring movements so they’d rather you get checked and make sure you are both fine and it’s always best to get monitored if you have any doubts.

noseoftralee · 31/05/2018 11:27

Oh sorry! Read too quickly ! 😂 apologies to OH and Hmm to work.
