Hi everyone. I’m being induced on Friday, so tomorrow is likely to be my last day of pregnancy (or last day of being able to relax at home during pregnancy anyway).

What should I do? What would you do?

OH will be running around like a headless chicken getting the house ready, and it’s mostly done anyway so I won’t need to do that... but I’m not sure what I should be doing with myself 🤔

Sleep!

Jenijena · 16/05/2018 20:34

Sleep. Go out for lunch. Sleep some more. Go out for dinner. Sleep.

Dippyeggsandsoldiers · 16/05/2018 20:34

I second sleep! I regret not sleeping the day before I was induced!

Heismyopendoor · 16/05/2018 20:36

Rest.

Before both my my planned c sections (first was emergency) so the evening before my other child/REN were with family and me and DH went for a little bit of shopping and a dinner by ourselves.

littlecabbage · 16/05/2018 20:36

Definitely rest/sleep. Induction process is often started in the morning, but can take hours and hours to work, so you may not go into labour until night time, then labour throughout the night.

RapunzelsRealMom · 16/05/2018 20:37

I had 3 planned c sections and, on my last day, I relaxed, got a babysitter, went out for dinner and the cinema.

Nannyplumssillyoldelf · 16/05/2018 20:37

Sleep, sleep and drink lots of hot cups of coffee.

pallisers · 16/05/2018 20:37

Had ma manicure/pedicure. Made a few dinners. had sex. Did that for all 3 (induced and 2 c-sections).

Watto1 · 16/05/2018 20:38

I had a haircut on my due date. My hairdresser asked when the baby was due. When I replied "today", she looked a bit surprised and eventually said, "well, I suppose we've got plenty of hot water and towels if anything happens! Grin

CocoaGin · 16/05/2018 20:38

The longest bath imaginable. It'll be about 18 years before you get to repeat the experience Grin.

applesandpears56 · 16/05/2018 20:38

Sit down in a quiet room and have a hot cup of tea - be bored - breath in and out and enjoy the silence and boredom and peace. You’ll not have that again for a few years!

applesandpears56 · 16/05/2018 20:39

Oh and double check you’ve packed everything for your hospital bag

user1499786242 · 16/05/2018 20:40

SLEEP

AND SLEEP SOME MORE

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 16/05/2018 20:40

We had a friend over from Finland.

user1499786242 · 16/05/2018 20:40

AND SOME MORE

applesandpears56 · 16/05/2018 20:40

Oh and clear the storage on your phone ready for loads of photos! 4 years in I’m up to 6000 and still haven’t had time to sort them. Def make a habit of downloading your photos each month so they don’t build up like I’ve ended up doing!

happymummy12345 · 16/05/2018 20:41

I carried on as normal even when I was having contractions for 4 days.

Cantwait4summer · 16/05/2018 20:42

Before i was induced i rested / slept / stuffed myself with my fav foods and watched box set on tv !

LyricalGangster · 16/05/2018 20:44

Haircut (if you haven't had one recently). The next few months its going to be difficult to fit one in.

Go for a lovely lunch/afternoon tea with friends and/or friends

Take a lovely walk in nature with dp as long as it's not raining. But just walk along holding hands and listen to the birds singing.

diodati · 16/05/2018 20:44

I had a pedicure, a wax (legs & "bikini") and rested until it was time to go. I was induced. I was so excited that I couldn't eat and oh! how I came to regret that! 24 hours later, I would've killed for food!

Tamingoftheglue · 16/05/2018 20:44

Id have a lie in then a long relaxing bath reading my book, I'd go and get a manicure, pedicure and a facial, a wash and blow dry, then i'd have a fab dinner out somewhere lovely with dh and finally go to bed really early and sleep sleep sleep.
Basically it would be a day of total self care and freedom.

biscuitaddict · 16/05/2018 20:45

Sleep! Then eat! Then sleep again!

RexManning · 16/05/2018 20:46

Sleep, waking only to carb-load like you’re preparing for a marathon.

userabcname · 16/05/2018 20:47

Sleep and eat. You can't eat if you are induced on the drip and I was in labour for about 36 hours. I was STARVING. Imagine you're about to run a marathon and eat a huge, nutritious, satisfying meal. And then take a long relaxing bath and get an early night. Good luck with the induction.

MummyCuddlesSolveEverything · 16/05/2018 20:50

Easier said than done to sleep when that uncomfortable (well that's what I found and I had pregnancy insomnia) but sleep if you can, if not just rest and do whatever helps you relax. The day before I went into labour I read lots, watched Netflix and went for a walk.

Hope everything goes well for you.
