Thisismydilemma · 24/04/2018 21:57

Due 1st July. Starting to feel nervous about the birth, the closer it gets. I wish I could sleep better. I feel so tired, but can't get much deep sleep, so frustrating.

BeardofZeus · 24/04/2018 22:12

Thanks @springersprung that makes sense. I just wondered if it was coming up, as midwife said next appt is bloods (28wks). Just had a lovely lush bomb bath and feeling very chilled out and ready for sleep now! My main problem throughout this pregnancy has been fatigue. I’ve never known such a persistent feeling of tiredness that was mentally draining as well.

Hazyhayz · 24/04/2018 23:30

First time mum and due July the 5th with a baby boy! Can't stand pregnancy, but don't want to moan too much as it's such a blessing! Getting horrible heartburn now!
Torn between feeling anxious about birth and excited about the end of pregnancy and meeting the little one!

MrsSPx · 25/04/2018 14:22

@Hazyhayz don't worry.. I hate pregnancy too! And I am very vocal about it Shock I can't wait to have the baby.. to meet her but also so I'm not pregnant anymore! I'm am grateful to have this baby though x

Lemontwist · 25/04/2018 21:26

Another team yellow here! I have two boys already and due 21st July which is the day after they break up from school. That's bad planning on my part!
Work's full on at the moment and I'm tired but other than that it's going pretty well.
It's exciting to think that were all in or nearly in the third trimester!

MrsSPx · 26/04/2018 09:55

Results from GTT are in... I don't have gestational diabetes! Wahoo!

It always makes me laugh how surprised professionals sound when all of my tests come back normal.. Just because I'm slightly overweight does not mean I am horrendously unhealthy!

Anyone else finding this? Xx

lmx0 · 26/04/2018 10:01

@MrsSPx brilliant news!!! Yes i sometimes found that! just because im heavier does not mean i can not have a straight forward & healthy pregnancy

Winterfellismyhome · 26/04/2018 10:03

@MrsSPx same here! I was surprised aswell that it was negative though tbh. But they always give you a look when you say no previous health issues Hmm

lifechangesforever · 26/04/2018 19:56

Got my GTT back yesterday and I'm clear too Grin

I've had 2 quite shitty remarks from the sonographer about scans being hard due to me 'being bigger' (she said this to DH whilst I was out of the room, both times!) I wouldn't mind but I'm a size 16 before pregnancy - she must see loads of women wayyyy bigger than that.

I think she's just making an excuse for being rubbish at her job, private scans have never been an issue.

lmx0 · 26/04/2018 21:52

@lifechangesforever i had this too!! I hd to have my 20 week scan redone due to little miss laying in an awkward position so she couldn't see the heart properly the first girl had said sometimes it can be harder but they second girl was going to get a slap from i went in till i left she went on and on about me being heavier and it being harder to see also i may add she was really rough to the point she was hurting me and she was no skinny mini herself!!

Flyingchimps · 27/04/2018 00:17

@lifechangesforever we also had this 🙄 baby was just lying awkwardly and the sonographer was clearly hangry as he kept mentioning how it was nearly lunch time. He was pretty abrupt, to the point of rude and simply went through the motions of the scan. I get it is a medical procedure but just shouting out random bones and organs and making no real effort to engage with us seemed a little unprofessional. ‘Hand but no arm’ springs to mind as a particularly alarming part of the scan!

Total opposite when we had the rescan done the sonographer was lovely and kept changing views and answered lots of questions for us :) and didn’t mention my weight at all (again a size 16)

lmx0 · 27/04/2018 08:50

GTT this morning!! Results are back this afternoon so heres hoping i hear nothing (nurse said id only hear if something wrong) you'd think they would be a bit nicer to pregnant ladies wouldnt you!!

0310Star · 27/04/2018 08:59

Does anyone know how much weight they've gained so far? I had my 28 week appointment on Wednesday and found out I've put on 10kg since my booking in appointment, I don't know what I was expecting but I was quite shocked!
People keep telling me I am all bump and its not gone on anywhere else, which is a bit of a blessing, but I don't know if I am within normal weight gain at 7 months??

lmx0 · 27/04/2018 10:29

@0310Star i think thats about average? I wouldn't worry to much (i know easier said than done!) id dread to hear or see what ive put on but i dont think we are weighed after booking appointment

0310Star · 27/04/2018 10:38

@Imx0 no not routinely weighed, but I asked as I was curious as feel like a whale Grin I seem to be bigger than everyone else I know that's pregnant.
Just curious if that's a normal amount for everyone else in the same stage!

lmx0 · 27/04/2018 12:05

@0310Star ohh i never thought of asking id be to scared to know the answer lol

Dvg · 27/04/2018 12:23

Due 10th July my my first who is a boy! :)

SeeKnievelHitThe17thBus · 27/04/2018 12:40

19th July here. I've just been looking for an ante-natal yoga class at my DH suggestion and discovered that most are 10 weeks, which take me too close to my due date for the last session (last baby arrived at 37 weeks). It's getting very real.

My older DC finishes school on 13th July so if this one can hang on in there until then, that would be really helpful as we can ship him off to his grandparents until baby comes. I had pre-eclampsia last time, and am on asprin daily, so fingers crossed I avoid it this time.

lmx0 · 27/04/2018 21:07

Havnt heard from hospital so i passed the GTT yay!! Welcome newbies & congrats 😊 @SeeKnievelHitThe17thBus maybe if you had a word with the instructor they might be able to do something for you? Hopefully u avoid it this time!!

Fionz · 28/04/2018 00:34

I'm 28+4 and due 17th July. I am the same, not slept properly for months! Super excited tho and really apprehensive as blood tests came back yesterday showing I have Obstetric Cholestasis. I have gestational diabetes too, diagnosed at 12 weeks so it's looking likely I will be induced early. Was definitely scary being told I have a few less weeks to prepare 😅

Sreberko · 28/04/2018 08:38

Hi everyone :) 11th July for me and it's a girl. i still bought most of the staff neutral just in case, besides i don't like pink...

Springersprung · 01/05/2018 22:39

I also passed GTT! Yay! Like some of you said, I'm slightly overweight, but do a lot of circuit training/weight lifting, so pretty healthy. Doesn't stop the disapproving looks from the healthcare profession though!
I'm attending antenatal yoga run by the NCT, which runs on a week by week basis. I wonder if there's anything like that near you?

Rainbowbright17 · 01/05/2018 23:49

Hi ladies,
I'm due 13th July, team yellow although I would've liked to know to simply be organised with some colours this time but hubby felt it would be nice to have a surprise again. We have an almost 6yr old son who is very excited but like a few of you have said I'm a bit worried that it'll be a big disappointment for him. I'm also a bit anxious that I'm changing his whole wee world by bringing another little person into our family. Anyone else worried about how much things are going to change?

#fionz Can I ask what symptoms you have with the OC please? The reason I ask is I've had a terribly itchy base of my right foot for a few months (drives me mad at night) & never thought anything of it until I googled it a few nights ago. I'm slightly concerned now as I've been ignoring it. Do you take medication for it? I was diagnosed last week with GD & trying to get to grips with that just now.

Fionz · 02/05/2018 11:59

Hi rainbowbright,
Aww not good about the GD!! It's a total pain. Then again I suppose it's stopped me putting on loads of weight! Don't think I'm eating enough tho through fear of my glucose levels affecting my little girl.

I wasn't diagnosed with OC because of itching. I was diagnosed through concern over how dark my urine was after a kidney function test a week earlier (investigating a sharp rise in BP) showed high urea levels (indicating dehydration) even though i drink loads of water every day. So my midwife repeated the kidney function test a week later and did a fasting bile acid test after i told her I thought I was bleeding after going to the toilet and wiping, i was shocked to see it was just that my urine was sooo dark orange on the toilet roll, not blood!! Midwife left a message on my answering machine next day telling me my bile acid levels were raised to 41 and an appointment had been made for me at hospital a week later (which is tomorrow).
I haven't started any treatment yet, ill find out tomorrow, I'm meant to be getting more tests.
I get itchy legs and arms, mostly at night. Only had itching on my palms and soles of my feet a few times but not enough to drive me demented! I did notice about a week before all this I lost my appetite and started feeling totally exhausted. Not sure if it's related or just coincidence.
You should definitely ask your midwife for a bile acid test!! I wouldnt wait!! Especially with it being so dangerous for your baby. Exaggerate the severity of the itching cause ive read about people being refused the test cause their midwife thought they werent itching enough!! My results were 41 and I have no idea what that means lol but online suggests it means severe OC and results between 10 - 39 are mild OC. I never got any useful advice back when I asked what it meant. Just that I should wait to speak to someone at the hospital.
I'll keep you posted tho x
