Just got a great freebie through Baby Box University and made me wonder if anyone had any tips for baby freebies and discounts?

I got:
A Scandi style baby box for sleeping with mattress (which will use for downstairs naps)
100% cotton sheet for mattress, baby grow, 2x muslins, mits, hat, socks.

All completely free although had to do an online quiz.

Anyone else managed to swindle any freebies or discounts?

Emma's Diary and Bounty packs
Follow and interact with loads of companies on FB and Twitter- won a few major things such as snugglebuddy, pram organisers etc

Loads of giveaways and offers

Emmas diary is good bounty have one i haven't got it yet as i thought you had to get the voucher from midwife but if you download the app you can get it cow & gate you get a free cow teddy and leaflets

gryffen · 11/04/2018 13:29

Yeah just download the app and voucher becomes available when time is right.

Cow and Gate do the little cow, HIPP do spoons and vouchers, Ella's meals/friends do weaning charts etc

We get the Baby box in Scotland when we sign up for it after 24 weeks i think at midwife appointment.

Be wary of doing quizes for prizes - they gleam a lot of information from you if you connect via FB etc - not worth the spam sometimes.

The Baby Box isn't a personal quiz - you have watch videos and do a little assessment style quiz on safe sleeping to qualify for the box.

Do be cautious of handing over personal information in return for free stuff and be sure that it is worth it. You are selling very valuable demographic data which will be used for marketing.

After the big campaign to get Bounty and their frequently aggressive tactics off postnatal wards I would not volunteer any of my data to them.

Carboholic · 11/04/2018 17:00

I'm pretty disguisted by Bounty's behaviour on postnatal wards and would not want anything to do with them.

LMX0 · 11/04/2018 18:51

Oh i don't know anything about bounty and their behaviour.........

Buxbaum · 11/04/2018 19:09

You might like to have a look at these links, LMX0. It was a big MN campaign in 2013, around the time that I had my DD:

Very interesting read. So the campaign was in 2013, but when I was on the postnatal ward in 2016 they were still very much there.

Steeley113 · 11/04/2018 19:28

The bounty people are vile on postnatal wards. I had my little girl last week and she was born covered in lovey vernix, she poked her head in to take photos and said ‘oh, she’s all gunky. I’m here all day, just shout me if you bath her and I’ll take some photos’ and walked off. I just sat there like ShockHmm

LMX0 · 11/04/2018 19:29

Goes to show nothing will stop them

LMX0 · 11/04/2018 19:30

@Steeley113 what an absolute b!tch!!! I hope you told her where to go!!!

Steeley113 · 11/04/2018 19:32

@LMX0 luckily I’m not very sensitive and shrugged it off! I’d never wash that amazing stuff off of a newborns skin and was quite glad I didn’t have to make an excuse for her not to take her picture Grin

LMX0 · 11/04/2018 21:40

Just goes to show they really do not care about mums and babies all they care about are their profits
