Blinking Nora- all of a sudden I've become so uncomfortable!!

  • Can't sleep at night as every way I lay I ache/ get cramp/ get kicked by baby
  • Baby keeps punching/ headering my bladder so it feels like I'm either gonna pee myself or my waters will break any second (Seriously thought a couple of times I would be making an emergency dash to the hospital!)
  • keeps sticking its feet up into my ribs so I have to sit all wonky until it moves them down again.
  • lady parts are blooming sore- seeing the doc about that today!
  • Walking like a weeble cos I'm so stiff
ARGHHHH!!! Talk about all coming at once!! Thats it- moan over!

I could have typed this, and I still have 6 weeks to go. Don't worry, it's going to get worse every day
Mutual moaning

lilolilmanchester · 10/05/2007 13:51

Poor you! My pregnancies are way behind me (hopefully!) but still remember the discomfort you describe. Ouch! Try to focus on what it's all in aid of and think about the childless women who'd love to be in your position... won't make you feel any better physically, but might help you see the positive side of what you're going through. If you're not doing this already, I used to find sleeping on my side and putting a pillow under my bump helped take some of the weight off & made me more comfortable. Good luck!

bumperlicious · 12/05/2007 15:57

PPS and PPP feel exactly the same and I've got 5 weeks to go. Just can't get into any comfy positions, esp at night. Cramp and all that too. Making a long train journey next week and starting to panic whether or not I'm going to make it!

LadyTophamHatt · 12/05/2007 16:02

sorry girls but I have to just rejoice at not being PG anymore....God it's crap in the last few weeks isn't it??

I know excatly how you all feel and remember it all too well(ds4 is almost 4months so it really is clear in my mind) and you have all my sympathy

bumperlicious · 12/05/2007 16:14

LTH, how long before you start to feel yourself again? I know there are other aches and pains that take over afterwards e.g. episiotomies etc, but starting to thing I'm going to have gippy hips an pelvis forever?!

LadyTophamHatt · 12/05/2007 18:35

I felt better by about 4:25 am on the 16th January.

Ds4 was born at 4:22am.

Jamantha · 12/05/2007 20:48

Glad to hear that it's not just me then. Am now 31 weeks and feel SO uncomfortable around the middle. Bending over is a real problem, and bump feels like it weighs a tonne. Can't believe still got 9 (or more!) weeks to go.

PurpleLostPrincess · 12/05/2007 21:45

Bless you! I remember very well feeling exactly as you have described with a load of heartburn added to the mix, when I had DD1.

I'm 21 weeks now with DD2 and I'm not looking forward to that part of it. I can already tick off a few on your list!!!

Hope you find a way to get through it

PLP (21) xxxx

Ceolas · 12/05/2007 21:47

Just got to take it easy and remind yourself it won't last forever.

I think the last 10 weeks are definitely the hardest. 5 weeks til I hit that point and feeling surprisingly OK atm!

bananabump · 12/05/2007 21:54

12 weeks to go here and the heartburn has started in earnest. Last night I was up til about 2am because it just felt like the acid was right up my throat and if I laid down I would be sick. No amount of rennies was helping, or milk.

Achy, tired, weepy and uncomfortable. And I would give anything for a night of sleeping on my stomach. Stuff the alcohol, I just don't want to sleep on my side anymore!

PurpleLostPrincess · 12/05/2007 21:57

bananabump, I'm with you on that one - I'd pay lots of money to sleep on my tummy again. I remember the first night after I had DD1 and it was bliss!! (apart from the afterpains of course!).

Ceolas · 12/05/2007 21:58

Oh yes, sleeping on your tummy...

PurpleLostPrincess · 12/05/2007 21:59

I don't really share this with people in rl but when I was in the last few weeks of pg with DD1, my sleep deprivation was so bad that the gp gave me sleeping tablets and said to take half of one per night. Well, they worked but I ended up wetting the bed because I was in such a deep sleep that I didn't get up to have a wee!!! Sooooo embarassing and I won't be taking them ever again!!!!!

bananabump · 12/05/2007 22:04

Yeah but I bet you were tempted to invest in some super mega strength tena lady and sod it. lol

talcygoneorange · 12/05/2007 22:09

This is making me so broody

Makes me that i won't feel like that again

Although very happy and grateful to have had 2 beautiful dds

PurpleLostPrincess · 12/05/2007 22:40

Very tempted!!!

I distinctly remember feeling like the inside of my womb was bruised black and blue from all the kicking and punching. All the memories are flooding back now, I'm broody too!!

Being broody when pg is a strange sensation but I like it!!

Rosetip · 13/05/2007 05:16

I'm 37 weeks and have been suffering from piles for a week or so. Really weird and uncomfortable.

Jamantha · 13/05/2007 05:55

talcygoneorange - thanks, you've reminded me that uncomfprtable as this is I shouldn't be moaning. I wanted to be in this situation, I knew some of was going to be unpleasant (and hey the worst is still to come) and although this is a very common experience to be going through I should still feel rather privileged in many ways.

talcygoneorange · 13/05/2007 10:56

Yep, it,s hellish at the time though isn't it?

I was in constant discomfort with both my very large babies....

But i would do anything to feel like that again....
Just one more time!

bumperlicious · 13/05/2007 12:02

Whoa PLP - back track - after pains?

bananabump · 13/05/2007 13:13

Hehe...yeah, afterpains -just when you thought it was all over!

Freysmum · 13/05/2007 14:45

So nice to read that other people are suffering too and that I'm not making it all up! Heartburn has suddenly become dreadful too, think it's linked to having to take an extra iron tablet - am drinking bottles of gaviscon.

Does anyone else get earache from sleeping on the same side all the time? It's like the cartilage in my ear is screaming at me...

bananabump · 13/05/2007 15:00

You don't have to sleep on the same side all the time though. I know they say you should ideally sleep on your left side for optimum blood flow to the extremities etc, but it won't do you any harm to sleep on your right side, and certainly broken sleep because of earache won't be doing you any good!

Remember we've only recently discovered it's not so good to sleep on your back etc, and people have been having babies for centuries. I remind myself of this when I wake up from a refreshed nights sleep flat on my back. Oops!

flightattendant · 13/05/2007 15:08

I don't find it's any worse now. I remember feeling this crappy a few weeks ago, heartburn so bad I couldn't lie down at all, huge pressure on my stomach and lungs whenever I lay down, the weeing thing, the rib thing, and almost impossible to walk even up the road without being in tears.

However....since then, it's all a bit calmer somehow. nothing's got worse and some of it has eased up a lot, I can walk better, lie down, etc etc - only thing that's a bit worse is the breathing/breathlessness.

Plus relief is much nearer!!! (36wks now)

Good luck xx

Emmymummy · 13/05/2007 15:08

Just laughing to myself as I read through this - had my dd last Saturday and I can honestly say I felt much more comfortable immediately (in spite of the sore bits). Can bend over without feeling like I'm gonna break the baby, ribs have stopped hurting, and most of all, can have really long wees again!
