Evening love! I'm 23 + 5 with my first, also a boy, expected 8th July! Also shitting it! Every worries me and I'm always panicking haha x

LaurG · 15/03/2018 21:26

I’m 8th of July too! Don’t know the sex as we wanted a surprise. I just can’t beleive how fast it is going. I’m a bit scared of birth but much morse scared of the the aftermath!

Katyx3 · 15/03/2018 21:31

I needed to find out as the pregnancy was a surprise so didn't want any more surprises 😂 completely overjoyed, I look after people for a living so hoping the aftermath will be ok for me, but the whole waiting for labour then not knowing what to expect is totally daunting! Not sure why but kinda hoping to be inducted so I sort of have a date to look forward to! My best friend had a her first four weeks ago and was induced a week early, she was fine so we will be too 😘 x

Im due 29th July and having a girl 😊💖 scan tomorrow 😊 birth & labour dont scare me yet ive been pretty chilled out so far although i don't want to be induced!!

GemmaLL · 16/03/2018 07:14

Hi Smile I'm due on 29th July, a boy - my first baby. I'm not scared of the birth ... yet anyway! I feel I handle pain quite well. The aftermath and recovery while caring for a new born scares me though!
Absolutely loving feeling him wriggling around atm Smile

I am due 4th July with my second. I would definitely not recommended wanting to be induced. For some people it’s necessary but it’s definitely not an easy option for you or the baby. Please read up on the risk of induction. I actually asked for it to in my first labour (so I was totally of the same mindset) and although we both were fine it was very traumatic and there are so many people I know personally and on here who share the same sentiment. I was very naive with the consequences of induction and totally lost my cool and just wanted baby here ASAP. This time round I will be refusing induction unless I believe it to be medically necessary, and will be having a homebirth, luckily I have a team of Midwife’s who are in charge of my care who also believe induction is a last resort as they are very up-to date with research and aren’t under hospital trust outdated policies (one 2 one Midwife’s).

I just thought I would mention this as I wouldn’t want anyone to go through what I have and so many others have gone through unnecessarily, babies are not overdue until 42 weeks and even then they can be monitored daily until they are ready to come. Some people do I am sure have lovely induction experiences but I do believe these ladies are in the small minority. I would recommend looking into hypobirthing, and reading books on natural birth. Learn how amazing your body is and how it was made to birth your baby. I am trying really hard to learn and just trust the process and my body and it’s actually really amazing just believing that my body and baby are smarter than me and have got this covered!

Good luck, especially the first time mums, being a mummy is the greatest gift I have ever received. I have a beautiful 4 year old daughter who is my best pal for life, and can’t image my world without her in it! Very exited for you and this journey you/we are very close to going on! (July will fly by) xx

LMX0 · 16/03/2018 08:42

@lgh05 i agree with you im yet to hear any good induction stories also being induced increases the risk of many complications and the need for c-sections but sometimes it is unavoidable and required for the safety of mummy and baby just think ladies we are all at least half way now!!

LaurG · 16/03/2018 10:17

@LMXO I know half way there! I can't believe how fast it has gone!

How was pregnancy for you ladies? For me it has been easier than I expected. The first 10 weeks were awful. Nausea, thrush, sore boobs, crying/anxiety. Now I feel quite normal. Amazing how quickly you forget the bad bits.

LMX0 · 16/03/2018 18:19

Been going great really cant complain the sickess & tiredness at the start really is something else isnt it!!

NimbleKnitter · 16/03/2018 19:10

Baby boy due 22nd July!

NimbleKnitter · 16/03/2018 19:12

Oh - and feeling weirdly ok about the birth. I'm ok with real pain - it's the tiredness and the healing that I'm dreading

toxitears181 · 16/03/2018 20:15

I was lucky and had no symptoms I never felt so good xx

LMX0 · 16/03/2018 20:23

@toxitears181 lucky you!! Enjoy it!!

@NimbleKnitter im the same birth doesnt bother me (nearly say id be looking forward to it) its the after bit worrys me more not the looking after baby but the fuss of visitors and family if that makes sense!!

preggersteach · 16/03/2018 21:22

I'm due 20th July, don't know whether it's a boy or girl as wanted a surprise. Terrified about the actual birth and recovery!!!

LaurG · 16/03/2018 21:46

The sleep deprivation is terrifying me. I can’t function without sleep. Hoping this baby is lazy. That and worrying about money. We live in London so no idea how we are going to afford childcare.

LMX0 · 16/03/2018 22:47

@LaurG im with u there on the sleep i cant cope without it!!

Aliceleigh · 16/03/2018 22:50

Hello! Smile
I'm due 6th of July with a boy. Super excited.

Aliceleigh · 16/03/2018 22:55

@toxitears181 oh, lucky you! I’ve only just started to get over my morning sickness!

LMX0 · 16/03/2018 23:10

@Aliceleigh hello & congrats 😊 how have you been?

Aliceleigh · 16/03/2018 23:25

@LMX0 thank you & congratulations to you too! Thanks
Well.. I haven't had morning sickness for a couple of days, so I'd say things are going fairly well at the moment hahah! Starting to struggle with sleep now though.. how are things for you?

Fionz · 17/03/2018 21:27

I'm due on 17th July- baby girl 💗 She is my 3rd but with an 18 year gap between her and my youngest I feel like I'm doing it all for the first time again lol.
Can I say tho that my 1st born was induced and I never had any problems. Labour was straight forward and delivering him was easy 😊 with no complications or drama x

LMX0 · 17/03/2018 22:22

@Aliceleigh thank you 😊 thats good your hopefully on the upside now im great apart from the tiredness i seem to get now and again lol

@Fionz congrats!! Oh thats good to hear did you have a long labour when you were induced?

Fionz · 17/03/2018 22:34

Thanks, congrats to all you ladies too. Oooh I am excited, can't wait for July 😍
I was induced about 7pm and had ds the following morning 10.15am. No complications which is good and 6 pushes and he was out 😊 He's 19 years old now lol, I was 17 years old when I had him x

LMX0 · 17/03/2018 22:39

@Fionz oh wow thats amazing!!!

Aliceleigh · 18/03/2018 17:37

I'm still in shock at how quickly pregnancy seems to fly by.. 9 months seems like such a wait, definitely not :')
