My sister had 3 different scans by 3 different people and they all told her she was definitely having a girl. She decorated the nursery with a fairly girly design and received lots of baby girl clothes from friends and family etc. The name was picked out too.
She’s just given birth 2 hours ago and has had a baby boy. He must have had his bits tucked well away during the scans. She’s obviously still very happy and overjoyed with him but I think she’s shell shocked as she felt like she was bonding with a daughter when he was still inside her.
I’ll definitely be leaving it for a surprise when I have one as even though this outcome must be very rare, it just goes to show they don’t always get it right

Matilda my eldest dd had 5 db already before the dsis turned out to be a db! She was devastated!!

Our local hospital will no longer tell you the sex at the scan apparently because they got it wrong once some years ago and the couple initiated legal action.

They sue’d over it? That’s terrible! It’s never 100%.

I know someone who was told she was having a boy - he was named George and all the boy clothes from his big brother were washed and ironed and all the dresses and pink clothes from his big sister were were thrown away. But guess what, when he arrived, “he” turned out to be a Georgina! This was about 12 years ago so I did wonder if scanner technology has come on since then.

My youngest brother (6) was supposed to be a girl

The opposite happened to my DM. Throughout her entire pregnancy she was constantly told it was a boy. Obviously was in for a bit of a shock when DSis came out without a penis. To be fair though that was 20 odd years ago so the technology used for scans really weren't great.

I never trusted the scans 100% my mum was told one of my brothers had passed while she was pregnant, he's 33 now

SIL told she was having a girl (already had 2 sons). She had the baby and my BIL shouted 'she's got a willy!!'. The midwife looked at him like he was mad..

My colleague was told she was having a boy and at a later 32 scan told it was a girl! It was a girl. They were shocked and a bit upset, not because they didn't want a girl, but because they'd bonded with their 'don'.
