What changing bag have you chosen?

Need a changing bag but what one. I love
Babymel Robyn and think the Babymel Jade is nice too. Only problem they don't fit on my sliver cross surf pram! Angry think I would need to buy pram clips!

Not really seen any others. Need one that's got enough room, nothing too small.

Anyone with any good recommendations?

I have a Pacapod Mirano that I love. It's not enormous but the pod system is really handy and it sits nicely on the pram.

zaalitje · 25/02/2018 15:00

I'm using a spare rucksack and saving myself £100+ as that's well over a days wages for me!

roseannaleeXo · 25/02/2018 15:04

Mayoral do really good baby bags mine is waterproof and has the lining inside spacious with two big pockets for nappies etc and handles to go over pram like yours or with the big handle instead have a look

TheCatsMother44 · 25/02/2018 15:09

I bought a rucksack style one from Amazon, it was about £20 and is really good in terms of pockets and space.

I got Skip Hop bag from eBay for £15 almost new. It's not very big but has got many compartments and fits all essentials.

PenguinChristmas · 25/02/2018 15:51

I got a rucksack one on amazon deals. They have a few on the up coming deals today x

thUnderdog · 25/02/2018 15:53

Babymel Grace in tan. Not sure how the other ones work but I can't imagine this one not fitting a pram, as you can either use the velcro bits or the long strap.

gryffen · 25/02/2018 16:22

I got one with my silver cross pram set in 2014 but I'll be using that and a folding rucksack for out and about with toddler and baby when born.

Tip - make it easy on you- fashion doesn't always mean functioning and practical.

Lemontwist · 25/02/2018 16:25

Penguin can you link to any? Can't find any in the deals.

TeddyIsaHe · 25/02/2018 16:26

Babymel Grace. I love it, fits loads of stuff and has a little insulated pocket that I used for expressed milk when dd was tiny and snacks now.

I would get pram clips anyway, they’re so useful.

BangPippleGo · 25/02/2018 16:36

I went for the same as Cats. Cheap, easy to use and looks lovely. There's loads of space and a zip at the back so you can easily access what's crammed in the bottom of it too. I'd always choose a backpack!

anotherchangetomyname · 25/02/2018 16:36

Whatever you get, make sure it's really light with nothing in, as it'll weigh a tonne when filled.

DiscombobulatedWomble · 25/02/2018 16:37

OP I have the babymel Robyn & it's great. Are you sure it won't fit the pram? It has little velcro loops you can use to attach it to the handle?

FranticallyPeaceful · 25/02/2018 16:45

Pink lining, for a third time

TheCatsMother44 · 25/02/2018 19:57

I'd always choose a backpack!

Me too, added bonus was getting one which DH was more than happy to use whereas I can't imagine him wanting to grab a pink flowery one so much.

YummyMummy247 · 26/02/2018 06:05

Thanks for the replies ladies. I love that rucksack from Amazon but wasn't sure if it would be big enough.

I do have a bag that came with my pram already and planning to use this at first but as baby gets bigger I need a bigger bag.
I've looked at a few but for the price of them, kept on going back to the Babymel Jade. I love how many zips, pockets and space there is. Velcro straps don't seem to fit on the top of my pram but do fit onto the side. Little of the slippy side but I have got bag hooks so I have managed to attach it to them and it says up. Wink.

Totally agree about style vs practical. Will attach a few pics if I can. x

So this is the bag I'm thinking. I love the pink one !! But think it will get too dirty so will opt for the grey.
One of the features I love from this bag is the little wipe pouch think that's a great touch.
I have added a pic in the middle to show you what I mean about attaching it to the buggy clips. Not the best of pics. So apologies.. The Velcro straps should attach to the handle as shown in one of this pics but for some reason the handle on my pram but be too big hence why I gave attached it to the sides. xx

Another person who has opted for a backpack style!
I got a changing rucksack from Cath Kidston.
Initially I was worried it would be too small, but I've tested it out and can fit all the essentials. For me the bigger the bag the more unnecessary stuff I'll put in it. It has plenty of pockets and comes with foldable changing mat. I love it!

I work with new mums and so many of them told me that they struggle to use their pram bags as they are too big / too heavy and not very easy to carry if you're also carrying DC. Although I agree that they look lovely.

Tinks15 · 26/02/2018 09:40

yummymummy what bag is that?

harrietm87 · 26/02/2018 10:30

I'm using my normal rucksack (I cycled to work until I got too big so had a nice one anyway) and have bought the skiphop pronto portable changing mat which came with a wipe holder and space for nappies. Rucksack already has inner compartments. It fits in the basket under the pram or on my back. I don't really see the need for a special bag unless I'm missing something?

Parker231 · 26/02/2018 10:37

Do not waste your money on one of the manufacturers bags. Buy a plain rucksack from Amazon or an outdoor shop. It will be more practical and last through several DC’s. Do not get a silly one in pink as you may have difficulty getting your DH to use it when he is out with the DC’s.

DameSylvieKrin · 26/02/2018 11:43

I have a four month old. We've gone through three bags already (the first a 'proper' changing bag, the second two bags we already had — the final version is a tiny shoulder bag) to get the size down. When you have the baby in a sling on your front and you're having to push the pram too you want the minimum weight possible. And you have to be careful with pram clips because the extra weight can destabilize the pram, especially when windy.
I'd suggest using bags you already have to get a feel for the size that works for you and then order something else later if you want a specific changing one.

YummyMummy247 · 03/03/2018 07:01

Sorry only getting back to you. @Tinks15 it's the Babymel Jade

I also bought this one from mother are . It's just mothercare's own and it was on sale reduced from £50 to £35. My sister said she would get it for me it in two minds whether to take it back as was thinking of keeping the BabyMel Jade one. Or just to keep it for when the baby is a toddler as its more practical as its a rucksackHmmConfused
