Need a changing bag but what one. I love
Babymel Robyn and think the Babymel Jade is nice too. Only problem they don't fit on my sliver cross surf pram! Angry think I would need to buy pram clips!

Not really seen any others. Need one that's got enough room, nothing too small.

Anyone with any good recommendations?

I bought a lovely Cath Kidson one, not a baby changing one tho Wink

This model but a nicer design. I plan to BF so just planning on having nappies, spare pair of clothes in the bottom and the top bit I can use as my handbag.

My DD1 atm uses her own little peppa pig rucksack for herself so I wanted to buy a bag that will do for just me once baby is over 1.

I’m using a £16 Roxy backpack from TK Maxx that I already had. Works very well for us.

I made the error of choosing a stylish bag. We had bought a second hand Silvercross pioneer pram and I wanted to treat myself to a nice bag. And it is nice and it does get compliments but it is definitely more stylish than practical. You can't access the contents with one hand because the flap keeps falling back over the zip. It's not really big enough for everything you'd need to take on a full day out either. But it cost a lot of money so I've got to deal with it Grin.

I had a parapodia last time. Thought it was the bees knees in the beginning- hated it at the end. Nothing fit in the feeding pod right and the pockets were l wrong for me.

I want a ruck sack type this time so I don’t have to balance a shoulder bag with a baby and a toddler

Cuppaqueen · 03/03/2018 07:45

If you've already got a bag (or bags Wink) then I'd definitely use them to start with and see how much stuff you genuinely need to carry round with you. I bought a big change bag and quickly realised I could manage fine with my usual handbag. I just had a change mat containing a few nappies and wipes, plus a spare babygro and muslins in the basket of the pram. In my handbag I just had some tissues and a mini pack of wipes for drool etc. I was BF so no bottles etc - obviously if you FF it will be different.

yikesanotherbooboo · 03/03/2018 07:52

Same, I never needed one : a nappy and a small pot of wipes. It greatly depends on your child.when they were older and falling into puddles I had a full array of spare clothes and footwear in the boot of my car for about 10 years but as infants we carried no paraphernalia.

Topsyloulou · 03/03/2018 07:53

I'd thoroughly recommend a rucksack. I had a pacapod last time & it was great clipped on the pushchair but a pain to carry if DS was in the sling. This time I've got a changing bag rucksack for £25 off Amazon & it's fab. Plenty of room with handy pockets on the side so I don't have to rummage around. Comfortable to wear with a sling & clips easily onto the pram. Having both hands / arms free makes it so much easier to get from the car to the house etc particularly with a toddler in tow.

Freddiesgirl · 03/03/2018 08:01

Another vote for a PacaPod- I have one of their big rucksacks and it fits everything!! Can just take pods out if I'm going somewhere quick, love it

holycheeseplant · 03/03/2018 08:29

A back pack and the free boots baby club one for the pram.

Think I'll get a nice little skip hop changing mat and purse to go inside though (possibly)

I bought a silver (swoon!) north face bag a few years ago to use with then 2 ds and at work. It's been fantastic ever since (and v funky)

holycheeseplant · 03/03/2018 08:31

Not sure they do it any more though which is a shame. The pockets are awesome!

I found I took much more for a newborn so the one you already have might do you all the way. My DD is19 months and I can fit all her stuff in my handbag with all my stuff now. I didn't get on with the Velcro straps on the pram, maybe I carried too much but they kept falling off, we got a silver cross bag with our pram and I just hung the big strap over the handle

Steeley113 · 03/03/2018 09:01

I’m just using my normal handbag (it’s huge anyway). 3rd baby, I’ve learnt from being ‘over packed’. I have a huge backpack for day trips as I need stuff for the older 2.

YummyMummy247 · 03/03/2018 18:28

@2ducks2ducklings I love this bag!!! Smile Altho after looking at the size inside I thought it was small. I feel most silver cross bags are small I got this one with my pram last time and although gorgeous it is small.

Cam Cam quilted change bag in grey x

doublew · 03/03/2018 18:40

If you are planning to use a sling/carrier while out and about I would definitely go for a backpack style. That's one thing I wish I had done differently. Now I keep wondering about getting one for the days using the carrier but the thought of having to swap stuff from one bag to the other puts me off and I don't want my current changing bag to go to waste.

fwiw - i have a bababing bag. I do like it because it has a place for everything, even a clip to hold your dummy (you do NOT want that getting lost in the bottom of the bag when your LO is screaming!)

Bought this one today from the Baby Show in London. It opens up really wide and can be worn as a backpack or held like a handbag. I'll most likely wear it backpack-style. I had a big Cath Kidston satchel type bag with DS and regretted it. It was bulky and heavy and slipped down the pushchair handles all the time. I like that this one looks pretty much like a normal bag and DH can use it too.

shartsi · 03/03/2018 19:21

By DC3 I was using a tesco bag for life. No problems at all. Its just a place to hold nappues, spare clothes and bottles. Does the job.

cazzyc · 03/03/2018 19:28

I really recommend the Storksak, a grey waxy canvas one with the tan strap. It's three years old and looks as good as new. It's got a long and adjustable strap, an insulated pocket, front pocket and lift out multi-pocket insert. It's really stylish too and not too outrageous at £75.
