I actually really like that one you've linked op; it looks practical and unisex and just because it's big doesn't mean you have to fill it. If you have two kids close together you'll appreciate the space. I personally like having a changing bag to hook over buggy handle. I do have a toddler now and so now use a rucksack but it really annoys me carrying the rucksack on the days when I have the buggy (it doesn't fit under the buggy!)

Tigger83 · 01/01/2018 18:48

I currently have a big hand bag which this would replace while I'm out and about with little one. I guess my thought was better to have too much space than too little? Also useful if I have a 2nd? Liked the fact I could have it both ways as I get fed up with rucksacks after a while. Hopefully going to breastfeed but no guarantee I guess. Might look at smaller options but I hate cramming stuff in a bag....

Just used the silver cross bag we got with pram but found a good rucksack is worth it's weight too.

A company called Mia Tui do changing bags that are really good - they are on sale too atm.

peanut2017 · 01/01/2018 19:56

Also got a backpack specifically as a nappy changing bag so has all the compartments. It's much easier to pop it on your back when carrying baby, baby in the car seat, sling etc.

Good luck and congrats

39 wks pg with my 3rd and I have just bought a rucksack on sale from John Lewis for £15. Much much easier!!!

CheeseEMouse · 01/01/2018 20:01

My favourite purchase was my skip hop change mat. Small enough to put in a backpack/handbag. Big enough to carry nappies and wipes. The only downside is when they are small you do need changes of clothes with you for the occasional poonami. But it has been brilliant otherwise. With my first i bought a pacapod bag which was great to hang off the buggy but i ended up giving up on it second time around when i had more stuff to cart about

MrsMoastyToasty · 01/01/2018 20:03

I used a messenger style bag and inside I had a men's spongebag to keep the nappies in (it made sure it was a waterproof one so that nappies didn't get wet if a juice cup or water bottle leaked.)

yippyyappy · 01/01/2018 20:08

Love my tiba and marl for the look but you can not get quality anywhere near jujube. They are amazingly made, do lush prints. I've got a little hobo handbag and a big weekend bag. They are head and shoulders above any other brand.

yippyyappy · 01/01/2018 20:10

Ds is 4 and doesn't need one but I still use both of my jujubes as handbags and will get another. So.many.pockets.

AntsMarching · 01/01/2018 20:13

I’ve had two from Sophia and Matt. Love them! Whole bag can be wiped down inside and out. Sophia and Matt

I bought a canvas beach bag from primark, it cost a fiver! This was the perfect changing bag. I bought a roll up napping changer to put in it and just threw the rest in. DS is 2.5 and we stopped using it at around a year, we use his bag for preschool (peppa pig) for him if we go out anywhere and I got my handbag back! Perfect for us!
I wouldn’t waste tons of money on a fancy one as everyone else has said

K1092902 · 01/01/2018 20:17

Personally we just used the storage basket on DDs pram and I carried my normal handbag for my bits.

Celticlassie · 01/01/2018 20:19

I've got a babymel. I like to be able to get into it when I'm walking about with the buggy so wouldn't find a rucksack practical for that.

Loads of people (especially on here!) said it'd be a waste of money buying one but I've used it pretty much every day since the baby was born 7 months ago.

lorelairoryemily · 01/01/2018 20:30

I have a pink lining one and I hate it😂 I use it but it's too narrow, and I can't seem to fit half the stuff I need in it. I'll be watching this for a recommendation for the next time!

Mybabystolemysanity · 01/01/2018 20:33

I got a black and white jacquard Petunia Pickle Bottom from TK Maxx for much less than it should have been. It looks good enough to use as a handbag after nappies are over.

russetbella1000 · 01/01/2018 20:43

Look up Jem + Bea-really gorgeous change bags...I've just got a Beatrice 😍Leather tote but I'm sure they do rucksack type bags too...

thenorthernluce · 01/01/2018 22:41

I have a couple of combos that I use: backpack changing bag with an across body handbag for my bits (keys, purse, phone etc) so I'm not forever taking the backpack on and off in shops or getting on transport.

But most of the time, I have baby essentials (nappies, wipes, nappy bag, one change of clothes, cream, muslin) in a large ziplock bag I bung under the pram, along with a folded changing mat, and just use my handbag for me. My little one is five months and I only used my bababing for maybe six weeks before I switched to other ways as it was too cumbersome. However, my pram basket is huuuuge (Uppababy) so it's easy to keep stuff in it long term, if that makes sense? And if I'm taking the baby out in the sling, I just transfer the ziplock bag to my handbag and I'm good to go.

JessYouMe · 02/01/2018 06:44

Definitely a rucksack. There are a few changing bag ones but standard rucksacks are just as good- just split things inside using large sandwich bags. One for nappies and nappy bags, one for spare outfits, one for snacks etc.

All those hideous pink changing bags with butterfly patterns on are so overpriced, as well as being hideous.

We got this for 2nd baby. Had a pacapod for first but wasn’t overly keen. I wanted a bag I could have as a rucksack, attatch to the pram and put over my shoulder this time which seemed like quite the ask!! Saw this at the baby show. Yet to use it but had a good play with it and seems good

wasMissD · 02/01/2018 08:26

I use bababing! Great compartments and masculine for the other half. I love mine.

Mol1628 · 02/01/2018 08:28

I really loved my Kipling changing bag. I don’t need a changing bag anymore but I still use it on long days out to store a change of clothes for 3yo, food and drink, wipes, hats, suncream. Always find I need to take loads of stuff out!!
I got it in brown so it doesn’t look dirty and it’s very unisex.

PandaCat · 02/01/2018 08:54

I'm planning on getting a plain messenger style change bag, less than £20 as with DD1, by the time she was 18 months I was using a small child's backpack for just a change of clothes, nappies and a snack!

DaisyLand · 02/01/2018 09:20

Pro rucksack people, what do you think of this style one?
It's a changing back with the option of carrying is a rucksack as well
www.pacapod.com/collections/backpacks/products/saunton-pewter-baby-changing-bag

I was thinking of a bag like OP but reading you all has made me realise that for using a sling/carrier this option might be better

Mummyme87 · 02/01/2018 09:36

daisyland I had a pacapod previously and looked at another, different design but just didn’t get on with them. Don’t like the bag in a bag thing.
Having the ability to put a bag on the pram aswell as a rucksack I think is invaluable. It would irritate me only having a bag I could use as a rucksack

DaisyLand · 02/01/2018 09:44

@Mummyme87 thanks for the input, i've been looking at videos and think you can use them on a pram with clips but also wear it as a rucksack,
This is another one i'm thinking about actually and you can see how she straps to the pushchair/rucksack/on one shoulder

I didnt think of rucksacks as my 1st option but the more i read you girls the more i think it's the way to go
