What to wear in labour?

Can anyone help me with what’s best to wear in labour.
The way I feel at the moment is that I’ll probably just want to be naked but that’s not going to be a pretty sight!
What would be best to get that doesn’t feel like you’re constricted with clothing but still provides some coverage?
My first was an emergency section so I didn’t have to consider it.
Thanks

I was adamant I wouldn’t be naked so packed two nighties and a bikini top in case I got to go in the pool. That changed when I was too hot, I’d lost all my dignity by that point anyway so I was stark naked during the second stage of labour.

I packed a nightdress but ended up staying in the pj's I went in with (went into labour in the middle of the night). I'll pack a nightdress again this time but who knows If it'll get used!

I wore a cotton nightie that had no sleeves but buttoned down front so fully opened. Love it still and will probably deliver in that again.

I was wearing a vest too. The midwife asked if I had something I wanted to wear. I said “this” and vomited in it. The midwife gave me a gown.

I had bought a large nightie to wear during labour but it all came on so suddenly that I was wearing jeans, a vest top, long sleeved top, cardi and boots when I was whisked off to the delivery suite. Obviously I had to take my jeans off and at some point I became completely naked. I couldn't care less who saw what and unfortunately it was a lot of people as baby and I both needed some intervention. I'm glad it ended up like that because when they put baby on my chest there was no faffing, it was lovely.

I didn’t know you had a choice! Everyone seemed to be in hospital gowns on my ward.
