I'm looking to buy some on amazon if it'll be cheaper but does anyone have any recommendations? Also for things like breast pads etc, Doesn't have to be from amazon but I'm ordering on there tomorrow anyway! Willing to pay a bit more for a decent make, thank you!

I found natracare the best - the other brands were a bit sweaty and uncomfortable on my stitches.

Jessiecat27 · 01/10/2017 17:13

Great thank you!

Kotex nighttime sanitary pads got my vote they are amazing!

Vanannabananna · 01/10/2017 17:15

I liked the boots one, thick to start with tyen the thinner ones with wings. The tommee tippee or lanoish breast pads are comfy.

Having murder with my amazon account now, typical! Haha, thank you I'll have a look into them all

The boots ones are great, still using them now (2 weeks after birth) and they are only 1.20 a packet

HandbagFan · 01/10/2017 17:58

I bought the Boots ones. Almost always on 3 for 2. Soft, thick and do the job.

For boob pads I bought the Boots ones too - again almost always on the same deal.

Marmite27 · 01/10/2017 17:59

I liked boots best last time, did was born early at the end of September and everywhere sold out Angry

I'm buying in bulk for #2!

PotteringAlong · 01/10/2017 18:01

Another vote for boots here - I got them with my first after a mumsnet recommendation and used them with all 3!

Buy twice as many as you think you'll need Smile

PotteringAlong · 01/10/2017 18:02

And if you buy them today boots have got a special 20 advantage points per pound offer on!

Womble75 · 01/10/2017 18:09

Second the Kotex nighttime pads. Used them second time round and they were so much better than any "maternity" pads I'd used before. Superdrug usually have the on 3 for 2

Orangebird69 · 01/10/2017 18:12

Boots thin ones. I used the thick ones for the first week or so pp as I had about 30 stitches but they were too bulky and made everything more uncomfortable. As soon as I changed to the thin ones life really got better!

Oly5 · 01/10/2017 18:13

Boots own brand maternity pads are cheap and do the job!
I like Lanisoh breast pads

corrianderisevil · 01/10/2017 18:21

Boots ultra thin breast pads are brill. I get through boxes and boxes. Individually wrapped and have never leaked. Same goes for maternity pads too. Boots own brand are ultra soft and kind to sore bits. Don't make the mistake I made with my first and buy ordinary sanitary towels as the mesh layer caught and pulled on the stitches Confused ouch

Jessiecat27 · 01/10/2017 18:41

I might buy a few of each brand then as everyone seems to have a different preference, I was looking at the hospital issue ones at first but the ratings were horrendous!

I have brought the boots ones although yet to use them! Opened them to pack hosp bag and they seem quite substantial Confused but reckon theres a good reason for that!!

talkshowhost97 · 01/10/2017 18:54

I found Lansinoh breasts pads so much better than any other brand. It's because of the way they have a fold and a sticky bit on each side. Plus the handy individually wrapped pads are so easy to carry.

That said they are expensive, so I kept them for out and about. For days in the house I just used Boots or supermarket own which are totally fine.

RaeSkywalker · 01/10/2017 18:56

I used Boots and Tesco. Also had to use some of the hospital's stock as we were in longer than expected, and I got caught out- the hospital ones were fine too.

RatRolyPoly · 01/10/2017 18:59

I must have tried every breast of going; I was thinking only this morning I wish I had someone to share my recommendations with!

In short, Lansinoh are the best - everything else turns into a thick, soggy mess but somehow Lansinoh ones don't - it's witch craft. Tommee Tippee I found the worst, and Boots etc. somewhere in the middle. But honestly they're all much of a muchness, except Lansinoh!

RatRolyPoly · 01/10/2017 19:22

Breast PAD, not of! Can't type tonight.

ChipShopGherkin · 01/10/2017 19:30

I'm currently using boots thick maternity pads after giving birth yesterday. They do look huge but they definitely do the job. I hadn't anticipated this much post birth bleeding Grin

Pixie2015 · 01/10/2017 19:36

Think I have bought every type of breast pad available and the best I have found are Wilko slim individually wrapped I have to make special trip for them but worth it. With the maternity pads buy more than you think you will need !

sunshinestorm · 01/10/2017 19:42

I bought the Boots maternity pads and they were completely unsuitable for the first couple of days when the bleeding was really heavy, needed something far bigger like the huge pads they have in the hospital.

SandysMam · 01/10/2017 19:47

The Asda maternity pads were the best I found. A bit longer than the others. Layer up though, creates a nice cushion for any stitches, and expect to go through a pack a day for the first few days.

SandysMam · 01/10/2017 19:48

Oh and congratulations ChipShop
