I'm looking to buy some on amazon if it'll be cheaper but does anyone have any recommendations? Also for things like breast pads etc, Doesn't have to be from amazon but I'm ordering on there tomorrow anyway! Willing to pay a bit more for a decent make, thank you!

Another vote for boots ones!

LittleNoSleep · 01/10/2017 19:56

Lansinoh breast pads. As others have said, the rest are crap in comparison

@SandysMam thank you Smile

To the PP who said that the boots one were unsuitable, did you use the thick ones or the thin ones?

StylishDuck · 01/10/2017 20:27

I agree, Boots own brand maternity pads. Thick ones first then switch to thin ones. Lansinoh breast pads were the ones I liked the best - I found them cheapest on amazon (also Lansinoh nipple cream is a god send).
Also worth looking into buying some Tena pants to wear with a maternity pad for the first few days instead of those awful disposable pants you get.

Went withTena pads instead of maternity pads and really rated them for the first week/1.5 weeks of heavy bleeding. Then Boots.

I agree, Boots maternity pads, the thick and thin ones are really good. Lansinoh nursing pads are the best but too expensive

I only really used breast pads and maternity pads from tesco (we lived literally opposite a big one, so was handy in that sense as well).
A box of 40 breast pads for £1.50, and they had adhesive strips to stick them to a bra (I tried others a few times but they had no sticky so I didn't like them).
Packs of 10 towels for £1 was all my
Tesco had, but for £1 it was well worth it. They were soft and comfy on my stitches, much better than the hospital ones (and the hospital ones had no sticky, so I was paranoid it kept moving). (I used them for 2 weeks after giving birth, then I was able to switch to normal always pads for the remainder of the bleeding (about a week).
I'll defo use them again next time. (I tried ones from boots and Mothercare and I didn't like them.

I wouldn't buy lots of breast pads because you might not need them. I feel for 18 mths and never leaked. Conversely you might leak lots but you just don't know.

I liked the Tesco pads mentioned above, with the caveat that I never tried boots. I agree you need more than you think, I was thinking it would be more like a period which really wasn't the case!
