Morning sickness coping techniques

I'm 6+5 and I think I'm dying from morning sickness and fatigue. I remember it being bad last time but it's so much harder this time with a toddler! Any coping techniques to make it any better? Not eating makes me feel ill, eating makes me feel ill, the only thing that doesn't make me feel ill is sleeping. Help!!! Ps this does end, right? Last time it did at 13 weeks but I can't even remember what life felt like before morning sickness and heartburn right now!

Hi all I'm just wondering has anyone taken sick leave from work due to bad morning sickness, well not just morning it seems to last all day and im currently off work but working nights tomorrow I'm so fed up of feeling sick and throwing up constantly the thought of getting through a night shift seems impossible anyone else taking time off? Thanks in advance x

Same Loosemoose! My husband hates the stuff but I'm hoping the baby is developing a taste from the amount I've been eating...

I have just got home Williams - I wasn't getting anything done, just feeling ill or going to the bathroom to retch or be sick. On my way home i staggered off the bus being sick into a bag. I've only actually been sick 3 times so feeling a bit pathetic about this when I think others somehow get through the day!

My heart goes out to everyone on this thread. I have 2 dc - 6 and 9 - and my goodness, never again. I was nauseous and sick from about 6-18 weeks both times.

I was admitted to hospital more times than I can remember, and singed off work for 8 weeks, both times. So a few things you need to be aware of:

1- pregnancy related sick leave, cannot, by law, be used in disciplinary action against you. Obviously, your employer needs to know you are pregnant.
2- your GP can prescribe anti sickness medication. I found they stopped me being sick, although I still felt overwhelmingly nauseous. There are several types of anti sickness drugs. GPs tend to prescribe cyclizine first because it's cheap; but others may be more effective.
3- if you are really not functioning and become very dehydrated (dark wee) you may need hospital treatment, to be rehydrated on a drip. I've been admitted by GP referal, A&E and walk in clinic referral.
4- there were times when I couldn't keep down sips of water, so I let ice cubes melt in my mouth. This got some fluids in to me.
5- ginger only has limited powers!

It didn't stop me constantly feeling sick or being sick, but my doctor told me to eat high calorie stodgy food like cakes as they'd be more likely to line the stomach and, even if they weren't nutritious, my body would have chance to take some energy from them.

As regards eating, I found little and often. I never kept anything down resembling a normal sized portion.
