Blinding headache and quieter than normal baby

For the last 24 hours baby has been much quieter than usual. Have still felt the odd kicks but not the repeated bashing I was getting at regular periods before.
I saw my midwife today for 28 week check (at 29+0) who checked heartbeat and didn't seem overly concerned but said to phone if could feel after an hr lying on left side.
Since getting home from appt I have had a BLINDING headache, and despite lying on side for 3/4 hours have only felt 2/3 kicks (not periods of kicking).
Do I need to phone? I keep thinking I'm being silly as only saw the midwife today but at the same time I'm a worrier and someone I know lost their baby at 27 weeks at the weekend 😞 Have been in the antenatal ward for hyperemesis previously and felt like I was bothering them and don't want to be THAT person.

Please just phone your midwife.
Better to be safe.

If you are sitting at home worrying then you should ring.

Rubyslippers7780 · 28/09/2017 19:23

Phone. Best to get checked

strawberrypenguin · 28/09/2017 19:23

Yep phone. They’d much rather see you and it be nothing rather than miss something. Hope everything is ok.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/09/2017 19:23

My PE started quite dramatically at 29 weeks. Please get checked, I'm sure you're fine but get checked.

Lollyb86 · 28/09/2017 19:24

Phone or goto hospital to be checked

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/09/2017 19:24

*26 weeks

AnneGrommit · 28/09/2017 19:24

Phone them. They would much rather you did and it was nothing than you didn't and it was something. I hope all is well but please phone.

DancingLedge · 28/09/2017 19:24

Phone now.
Fingers crossed that it's all ok.

DeadDoorpost · 28/09/2017 19:25

always phone in if you're worried. They honestly would rather you phoned and got checked than find out something was wrong.
And headaches would always be checked out as it's a sign of pre-eclampsia, especially if it's not disappearing.

Lenl · 28/09/2017 19:25

Phone. Better to be on the safe side. I went in 9 times with reduced movements with one of mine and all was fine, but the midwives always said they'd rather I go in.

Hope all is well.

Dontrocktheboat · 28/09/2017 19:25

Contact them if you are worried - who cares what people think! There is no harm in getting checked out - also sounds like midwife advised you to do so if still worried.

Foxsox · 28/09/2017 19:26

Another vote for CALL THR HOSPITAL

strongasmeringue · 28/09/2017 19:28

Please try and believe you should be more worried about your baby than anno.ying a midwife.

Something is wrong by the sounds of things, just a question of how wrong.

Please just go to hospital. If you ring they might suggest waiting another hour.

IhaveapenIhavepineapple · 28/09/2017 19:29

Adding another voice to the chorus. I hope all is well.

flutterby12 · 28/09/2017 19:31

Yep please do phone. I hope everything is ok Flowers

KalaLaka · 28/09/2017 19:32

Me too... there is no such thing as that Person. If the kicks have reduced and you have a serious headache, call. You have to wait long enough when you get to antenatal to be monitored, so call straight away,

HaggisMuncher · 28/09/2017 19:37

Phone the hospital OP. better safe than sorry, if you're worried enough to post here it's worth going in to get checked xxx

Gunpowder · 28/09/2017 19:39

Things like this I think it's good to think 'how will I feel about the course of action I'm taking in 5 years time?' If nothing is wrong you prob wouldn't even remember going in, let alone be worried about the fact a MW may have possibly thought you were anxious, if something IS wrong you will always, always be relieved you did go in. HCP are cautious about pregnant women too, it's not just us who worry. Get checked out.

BertrandRussell · 28/09/2017 19:39

Another one saying phone. Or preferably go. You really need to be monitored properly.

MadeForThis · 28/09/2017 20:09

Just call. Any change should be reported. It's not the number of kicks that count but any change in your normal frequency.

Hopefully everything will be ok but they would rather see 100 pregnant woman and tell them everything is ok than have one woman stay home and things go wrong.

Hairgician · 28/09/2017 21:18

Get to the hospital now. Get checked. Better to be safe. You are not wasting anyone's time.

ScarlettDarling · 28/09/2017 21:22

Op, please go in to get checked.

I'm sure you're aware that these could be symptoms of pre eclampsia which needs urgent treatment. Hopefully it's just a normal headache and baby having a quiet day, but only a doctor can tell you that. Get checked.

northdownmummy · 28/09/2017 21:27

You should definately call. I went in to be checked over with my youngest when there was a change in movements. Turned out that as soon as the monitor was on, she got really active.
The midwifes couldn’t have been more supportive or understanding. Said they’d rather check out 100 women needlessly, Than discouraging anyone from calling in if concerned

SS81C · 28/09/2017 21:28

Please phone the hospital and get checked out.
Any change in babies movements needs checking out and at 29/40 you can have a proper CTG monitoring (rather than listening in with a doppler)
