Thanks baking that's reassuring to hear - people just tell the horror stories about the drip! I'm strangely calm about the whole situation right now though.

Hi bella - my movements had a bit of a change up around your stage too - my baby was head down quite early and so I've felt a lot of movement and pressure low down quite early. If they're moving 10times in an hour, that's what they look for so maybe worth just lying down for an hour after a cold drink and checking them! I'm sure like you say, Baby struggles with less room as it gets on so bound to have a switch up on movement.

Had a great 7hrs sleep last night! Cramping through the night but only woke up with it twice so I doubt I've progressed any. Induction been pushed back to Tues now with the pessary insertion Monday evening. Feels like I've been in the hospital for ages and in a selfish way, just want baby here now. But for his/her sake, it's good to know baby can get to cook for a bit longer. 35weeks today so feels like a massive milestone!

What's everyone's weekend plans?

Oh my goodness the thread has moved fast since I was last on a few days ago.

@Dolly I can't believe you are going to meet your little one in just a few days! Not how you had planned but sounds like it is for the best. Glad to hear you got some sleep last night. You have had an eventful time of it. Sending you all my pma and will keep you and baby in my thoughts. Xo

I have caught up on everyone else's updates but I won't remember them all ...

@Amanda happy belated birthday! Hats off to you doing shifts as 9-5 is getting tough enough for me!!

I can't remember who asked about the pregnancy pillow but oh got me a G pillow from Amazon fairly early on and I love it. Thank goodness we have a super king or there would be no room for him in the bed too!

@Bella what an up and down week you've had. Hopefully the pills bring your levels under control. Crossing my fingers you won't need to do the injections.

@Baking hopefully the docs advice worked and less activity is easing your pain? I keep forgetting the RLT too and havent listened to the CD as much as I should be. Also planning to do perineal massage ... need to get a move on!

I finish work in 3 weeks!!! It's all a bit strange though as last Friday i got a promotion! I didn't even go for it the Directors gave me it as apparently i deserve it lol I'm not arguing with that as I do work my ass off for them but the cynical side of me thinks the timing is just a bit odd ...

Moo31 · 07/10/2017 08:08

Hope everyone has nice stuff planned for the weekend! 😀 xo

Dollydaydream2829 · 07/10/2017 08:21

Congratulations on the promotion Moo - hopefully you're on the wind down for coming off though and they're not gonna hammer you with extra work? I was getting exhausted too!

I really wanted to do perineal massage and was planning to start this weekend - best laid plans and all that! So no massage and no raspberry leaf tea! Hopefully because he/she will be a tiny baby, I'll maybe suffer less potential tearing although I know sometimes the opposite can be true!

DH stayed with me last night but is now off home with a list of things and my lovely sister is coming round today to clean the house! I'm seriously unsettled knowing that I never even had a chance to get the house up to my standard that I wanted and had planned for maternity leave, and stressing even more about having a premature baby in the house so it's a huge weight off my mind knowing she's helping out a bit. We had to go out and get some tiny baby vests and gros and nappies! Makes me want to cry at how small they look! Dhs sock is longer and bigger than the babygro!

Great you've got a good support network by the sounds of things. That's lovely of your sister :) crazy about the tiny baby clothes! I'm sure you have been googling like crazy for reassurance? Bounty app says baby is 5lbs 1/2oz - lots of full term babies 6lbs. Also read in one of the 35 week updates that baby is fully developed and will continue developing as they would outside the womb so that's good. Lots of people telling me over the past week or so that they / someone they knew had their dc at 34/35 weeks (in response to me only taking 2 weeks mat leave before due date) and no mention of any issues etc. Everything crossed for you. You can do this!! Xo

Dollydaydream2829 · 07/10/2017 09:45

Thanks moo - I've had the neonatal docs come round and see me and show me the unit so feel reassured that if baby does need help then they'll be well looked after. And like you say, I also know a few babies born at 35 weeks and they're absolutely fine so fingers crossed!
Appreciate the support from all you lovely ladies, it really is an amazing wee group we have!

Glad your doing well Dolly and thanks for the updates, I keep thinking of you and how your getting on. I suppose by the time baby arrives you'll be getting closer to 36 weeks, I'm sure baby will do great. Sorry you have to stay in hospital so long but I suppose right now it's better to just have the reassurance. I'm planning on having my house spotless but I bet even if I give birth well overdue it won't be, cos I always have this plan and it never seems to quite work out... plus how long does it ever last anyway! Glad your sisters helping out though.

Congrats on the promo moo! I was hoping I'd at least get a pay rise before I leave, they've been promising one for 5 years now, I've finally given up that dream though as I'm finishing next week:), which is super early but I'm not going back! As they are all poop heads lol (im practicing my mummy insults)

Amanda how your finding the energy to do all that with anemia I don't know, I'm tired all the time as it is. Although my mum is convinced I have it too, as she had it too, I guess il find out next week as got my midwife appointment.

Is it 26 or 28 weeks you have to monitor movements? I'm 25 weeks, mine vary a lot

Anna2006 · 07/10/2017 10:28

It's lovely isn't it Dolly! can't wait until we all have our babies and hopefully can keep up the thread with info on the little ones.

Glad you've got the see the neonatal unit Dolly. They do amazing things and the little ones are well looked after. I know a few babies born a tad early before full term an all have been well and a few been able to come home almost straight away. Your little one will be here with us soon.

Relaxing weekend for us today. Gonna order the furniture this weekend end to be delivered in a couple of weeks.

Xx

Anna2006 · 07/10/2017 10:30

@roseandbee believe it's from 28 weeks when there is more a set pattern. Think before then midwife said it can be more random. But suppose best to keep eye on it regardless. I feel mine moving around a lot. And as long as I feel several times a day I'm happy with that until 28 weeks. I'm 23 weeks tomorrow x

AmandaP86x · 07/10/2017 10:54

Aw @Dollydaydream2829 that sounds like they r taking good care of you. It’s absolutely amazing what they do in those neonatal units now!!! My cousin was born at 35 weeks only thing he had was a touch of jaundice he’s absolutely fine! Hoping it all goes smoothly for you. Totally understand the frustration about not getting ur house the way u like it!!! Every day off I have I’m gutting this place lol!!!

@Roseandbe so I have the same kinda prob - I’m 25 weeks and mines does move but I honestly couldn’t think of a proper pattern. I think it’s Defo after 28 weeks. Over night I wake up and I’m like please move please kick. It’s crazy I dunno how much more I can take of it lol !!!

@Bella - the comment about they bigger they get less room is wrong. I seen Tommy’s midwifes doing an article about how pampers still gave out this information Iv attached it! Pls contact ur midwife if anything changes. Also the counting 10 kicks is dated info apprently all babies are diff. Honestly I think the information is very all over the place and nothing too specific - even the “kicks count” website isn’t very clear they always just say any change contact midwife and u pure don’t want to feel like a crazy person and usually it eventually kicks 🙈🙈🙈 best to ask ur own midwife see what she says!!!

@Moo31 congrats on the promo 🤗❤️

Feeling better today with some days off. Going to the pram centre with my auntie cousin and gran (all very close now after my mum passing away) to show them my pram that Iv picked!! Then some lunch then catch up with my girlfriends - 3 out of the 6 of us is pregnant so in good company ha ha and won’t feel too left out by the winos xxx

@Dolly glad you are feeling reassured :) hope you are doing ok 😊

Thanks all! 😊

@Rose I haven't been told to monitor movements as such just to flag if I don't have any. I would say I have had a pattern since 28 weeks ish probably.

@Amanda hope you had a lovely day!

@Anna exciting ordering the furniture, are you going for a theme for the nursery?

Anna2006 · 07/10/2017 21:01

@Moo31 we've got just pure brilliant white on the walls and done one wall lemon. Then our nursery furniture will be grey and we have an animal safari theme for the bedding and wall stickers. I love giraffes! So it had to be animals really..nice and bright to keep the child entertained lol xx

Moo31 · 07/10/2017 23:20

That sounds lovely @Anna! 😍 can't wait to see pics!

bakingmad83 · 08/10/2017 05:53

Hope you managed another restful night Dolly. At least you have visited the neonatal unit so know what to expect, but good chance your little one won't need to go there. My friend's two born at 35 and 36 weeks just stayed on the ward with her, one just needed a heat mat and some light therapy for mild jaundice. LOvely your sister is taking care of the house so will be all ready for you returning home as a three :)

How are you doing Bella? Good advice from Amanda re movements. If I had to feel ten an hour, I'd never be away from the antenatal day unit for monitoring. Do feel movements hourly, but only particularly active first thing and in the evening. Think the position they are in can affect where you feel movements. Hopefully the midwife has been able to reassure you if you needed to get in touch.

Congrats on the promotion Moo :)

So is that you finished work next week for good before baby arrives Rose?

Our nursery has safari animal stickers too Anna :)

Took DS to another fire station open day yesterday, but he was a bit scared by the sirens close up and the people dressed up as an elephant and Spider-Man, so didn't stay long. Got inlaws coming over today, but they can only stay for a few hours, so making a roast dinner and then made some cookies yesterday to enjoy with a cuppa this afternoon - they were meant to turn out like the squidgy ones you get from the supermarket bakery section, but I'm not convinced! They usually like a bit of time with DS on their own, so DH and I will probs head out for a bit of fresh air and a gentle walk while they enjoy that. Hope everyone else enjoys their day!

Ilikecakes · 08/10/2017 10:25

Hello all!

To those waiting, maybe a lovely squishy newborn pic will help get the oxytocin going! DS4 arrived with us early this morning, after a fairly epic labour. Three weeks ahead of schedule, but still weighing in at a hefty 7lb 3oz!

Not long to go now for many of you, hope all well!

Smile

Congrats @ilikecakes! He's lovely! Hope you are both doing well! :)

@Baking that sounds fab - roast dinner, cookies and some couple time. Enjoy!!

BellaMoon · 08/10/2017 12:15

morning all

thanks for the advice re: movement @AmandaP86x i think baby must have just had a chill out to make me anxious as i had a lie down and cold glass of water and he’s been kicking away ever since. he has moved a bit lower tho but definitely back into his routine. hope you’re feeling better too now with the anaemia. how was the pram centre? was that the 1 in parkhead? that place is rather crazy lol x

@Ilikecakes congratulations on the birth of DS4 he’s a cutie! hope you’re well after the epic labour. do we wanna know about it or maybe just tell us the “best bits”?

hoping you’re settled on the ward @Dollydaydream2829 and nice to hear you’ve got a baby team in DH and your sis helping take care of things you ran out of time for. how are things progressing now?

how’s the hip pain now @bakingmad83 hoping you’re taking it easy as instructed? love that you have a lot of activities on around you to entertain DS. i am never aware of these things going on where i live or maybe it’s just cos i don’t need to be yet that i don’t see adverts etc. ill need to open my eyes before too long 💙

@Moo31 super congrats on the promotion that’s absolutely brilliant. don’t question the timing as the job is yours and will be yours regardless of mat leave. well done again! how are you feeling?

@Anna2006 your nursery sounds like my initial plan. loved the grey furniture but i just couldn’t find the right 1 so ended up changing to white furniture but with grey walls. after we found out it’s a boy we swapped the lemon accessories for turquoise. can’t wait to pull it all together. our furniture is still a month away from delivery which is annoying. how you feeling?

@Roseandbee i’d say my baby settled into a movement routine around 28wks. he’s active in the morning when i wake up, a few kicks around lunch and then not a lot of movement til i get home from work at 5ish. he does the odd flip in between times but if i was moving about a lot i probably wouldn’t feel it. i sit at a desk all day so i’m more aware due to being sat still. i shone my iphone torch onto my tummy the other day and he almost followed it around. thought that was interesting as all the charts say his eyes are open more and more these days xx

sorry i missed most of the posts from yday as i decided to treat myself to a lovely swim then a pedicure. DH was busy with leaf blowing and gutters so i went out. i had been so anxious about this diabetes i had worked myself into a tizzy and really needed some time to myself. bloods have stabilised a bit, i’m still high after dinner and in the morn but i’ll keep working on it. glad to also report i have been 3 days crutches free and i feel so much more movement in the pelvic/pubic area now. thank goodness!

DH has gone out with his mum for a few hours so me and wee bella have cleaned the kitchen and are now snuggled on the sofa
with a blanket watching the leaves fall off the tree (DH will be rather upset considering his efforts yesterday to clear them up lol). i’m sat staring at her willing her to be a good girl when the baby comes. her fate is in her own hands so she best behave or she’s going to live with my cousin. it’ll break my heart but i wouldn’t put her or baby in a stressful living environment.

hope you all have a lovely sunday xxx

Moo31 · 08/10/2017 13:24

Aww wee Bella all snuggled up :) hopefully she won't be jealous of her baby brother. My friend had a little boy in July and says when one of them gives the baby attention the other gives the dog attention so she doesn't feel left out but it's hard for her during the day when dh is at work. I think cats are different to dogs though - much less needy! I'm sure she'll be fine :)

That's amazing about the torch thing 😮

Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday - some "me" time sounds like exactly what you needed :) also great news on the crutches - things are picking up for you! :)

Anna2006 · 08/10/2017 16:49

Congrats @llikecakes how gorgeous!

@bellamoon love the grey and lemon. The grey furniture we're going for is mamas and papas. It has like wood trim aswell.

Popped to independent baby store today a little drive away as DH had discovered they stock the egg pram. Fell in LOVE with it. Which in all fairness I knew I would and DH predicted that would be what we ended up with as was most expensive one out of what we were looking at & he knows what I'm like!

It was so sturdy and durable and you could tell the reason for the price tag compared to some others. An it can also tandem up for 2nd child. So deposit was paid today! We got a bit of discount and DH treated me to the leather matching changing bag 😍 as due to discount it all come up slightly cheaper than anticipated. I still was like 😱 even though Jon's parents are paying for most of it.

Ohb0llocks · 08/10/2017 17:43

Congratulations @Ilikecakes 😍😍

Any updates @Dollydaydream2829 ? How are you feeling?

bakingmad83 · 08/10/2017 20:12

Congrats Ilikecakes, what a cutie :)

Had a nice day thanks Moo.

Hip pain is much better thanks Bella, seeing an improvement every day, though just going to keep with little and often exercise for the rest of pregnancy, as don't want to risk any further probs. Good to hear you've been off crutches for a few days now and that your blood glucose levels are improving. I wouldn't have known what was on locally for little ones before I had DS either. I find that once you're friends on facebook with other local mums you find out about a lot of events they are interested in/attending, then obviously at groups there is a certain amount of chat about what people have done/have planned too.

Exciting you have your pram sorted Anna :)

Dollydaydream2829 · 09/10/2017 16:10

Hi ladies,
Sorry I went a bit AWOL but I went and had myself one of those beautiful baby thingies! Everyone meet my DAUGHTER Olivia - born last night at 23:51 and weighing a very decent 5lbs 11oz. Perfectly cooked despite being so early and thankfully has needed no other intervention other than some antibiotics for which we will be in hospital for a couple of days. I'm in such a happy, loved up bubble and just can't wait for all you ladies to meet your bundles now. Any questions welcome :-)
