Happy birthday @AmandaP86x. Hope you had a lovely relaxing day!

It sound like you're coping with the GD really well @BellaMoon. It must be a real struggle so to still have a PMA is brilliant. Well done! I'm hoping to go to 38+1 with my maternity leave. That way I can start it on my due date which would be ideal. I'm hoping I can get through the last two weeks of school just sitting, fingers crossed the kids are nice to me.

Well done for coping with the shift work @AmandaP86x and @Dollydaydream2829. I don't envy you!

@bakingmad83 It must be really hard to be caring for a toddler as wella s being in pain. I hope it eases soon.

Still struggling with the acid reflux and it is really irritating. It isn't enough to bother with a doctor's appointment as it does clear up with gaviscon but it's enough to irritate me! Had my flu jab and whooping cough vaccine on Monday. The nurse nearly didn't want to give me the whooping cough vaccine as she had me down as 17 weeks instead of 26! Luckily she took one look at me and realised the mistake! She's now changed it on the system thank goodness. The whooping cough one really did sting and my arm is still sore now. I am a masssive wimp though - my mum pointed out that there is definitely more to come!

Sophsta · 04/10/2017 22:11

I apologise for all the typos. My phone is a nightmare to type on.

Dollydaydream2829 · 05/10/2017 18:14

Well ladies, finished my stretch of shifts with a trip to triage (again!) - I'd been getting a lot of discharge since last night, to the point where today, everytime I stood up, i felt a trickle. Watery and no smell and not really any pain apart from the usual back and PGP pain although a lot of pressure. Didn't think they'd be overly concerned but they wanted to see me.....

Turns out it's my waters. And my uterus is showing tightenings. So I've been admitted to the ward for close monitoring. Thankfully the baby is ok and very active so if that continues to be the case, I'll go home after 48hrs with antibiotics and a view to induce at 36weeks. If the baby decides to misbehave, then it will lead to a section over the weekend....

All in all, NOT how I expected my weekend to go....

Deffo agree that 2 under 2 would likely be a struggle. There is 3 & half years between me and my sister an we have always been the best of friends!

DH birthday tomorrow so got s day off of shopping, cinema and lots of yummy food. Looking forward to spending some quality time and doing stuff that will be more limited once the baby gets here.

Plan to get the furniture ordered soon so feel like slowly we are getting somewhere.

Go you @bellamoon for staying on PMA train. The tablets not ideal but sounds better than injections. I'm enjoying my last 5 blissful weeks before I turn into an injection junkie lol!

Xxx

Anna2006 · 05/10/2017 18:18

@dollydaydream2829 we crossed post! Oh my word, no I bet it was not what you anticipated to be doing this weekend!! Rest up as much as you can on the ward and hopefully baby will stay nice and comfy in there for a little while longer fingers crossed. Looks like you will be meeting your little one soon than expected either way. These ttnings never go to plan do they. Keep us updated & look after yourself 💗💗

Ohb0llocks · 05/10/2017 18:31

Oh goodness @Dollydaydream2829

Hope you’re ok ❤️

How strong/often were the tightenings? I had them when I went in for monitoring but couldn’t feel them at all. Hopefully it will be nothing and baby can stay in there for a little while longer!!!

BellaMoon · 05/10/2017 18:35

omg @Dollydaydream2829 you’ve had such an up and down time of it. biggest question of the day... was your hospital bag packed? lol i’m sorry you’ve been kept in as i know nurses hate being in a ward when you’d much rather be at home but it’s the old cliche of “you’re in the right place” chic. keep us posted on how you’re doing. ill keep you in my thoughts for a smooth and stable couple of weeks before baby dolly makes an appearance! xxx

@Anna2006 why will you be an injection junkie? sorry if i already know the answer, feel like my memory has left me these last few days! yeah PMA is still present cos if
i didn’t focus on the positives i’d drive myself mad. x

i’m struggling to get my head around the fact i can eat a packet of crisps and fizzy juice (albeit diet) but u can’t have an apple and glass of orange juice! anyway, it’s chips egg and bacon for dinner - which i would never normally eat EVER but DH has been researching what i should be eating so i’m not getting much choice (i’d just each sandwiches if left to my own devices) haha

hope you’re all doing well ladies 😘😘

bakingmad83 · 05/10/2017 20:20

Oh goodness Dolly, sorry to hear you've been admitted. Like Bella says, you're definitely in the right place, as I've a friend whose a midwife and she discharged herself against medical advice at 32 weeks and ended up back the next day needing an emergency C-section. Hopefully your little one will stay happy and you can wait for induction at 36 weeks. Really not long till you meet baby!

Sounds like your DH is in charge of your menu planning now Bella :) Though tbh not too much wrong with sandwiches, as long as you don't go for doorstop slices of bread and opt for grainy/seeded breads rather than standard white or wholemeal. Pittas and wheat tortillas also tend to have a lower glycaemic index if you fancy a change :)

Sorry to hear you're suffering with reflux too Sophsta, can't be nice even if settled by gaviscon. At least you've had your jabs now. Even though I ended up having forceps delivery without pain relief, I still cried out when they gave me the jab to deliver the placenta - the midwife couldn't understand it!

AmandaP86x · 05/10/2017 20:41

Thanks for all the birthday messages girls!! I ended up with a trip to triage on my shift yesterday with dizziness/lightheaded. Turns out I have a HB if 82 and need iron 🙈 still went and finished my 12 hour shift and another today! Thank god I have 4 days off tomorrow.

@Dollydaydream2829 so sorry to hear ur stuck in a ward I 100% feel ur frustration!!!! Fingers crossed Wee baby behaves over the weekend 💛💛💛 keep us posted xxx

Dollydaydream2829 · 05/10/2017 20:46

Thanks for your well wishes ladies. Away to get a steroid injection and the paediatricians are coming along later to speak to us about the baby's chances and plan of care etc.

I'm tightening quite regularly according to the machine so they reckon I'll have delivered by Saturday and if nothing by sunday, they're inducing.

Please send all your best PMA this way this weekend - I'm really quite scared. I know the baby has got brilliant chances but I just wish I could know he/she is gonna be ok.

@bellamoon I have to start my daily hepetain fragmin injections at 28 weeks. Have my first prescription collected already but instructed to not start them until I've seen consultant at 28 week appointment and been taught how to administer them properly. They look pretty long needles but just going to try take it in my stride seeing as it will be a daily occurrence for nearly 20 weeks. I'll soon be a pro.

Oh @dollydaydream2829 sending all the love and PMA well wishes solely to you this weekend. Looks like the time is upon you!! Are you 35 weeks this weekend? It must be very worrying for you but your only a couple weeks off full term & baby has brilliant chances of course and I'm sure all will be well for you an the little one. They will make sure little one has everything it needs for its arrival. Wishing you lots of luck! 💗 Or 💙 Xxx

BellaMoon · 05/10/2017 21:10

thanks for the update @Dollydaydream2829 sending you all our PMA and a great big hug too! been thinking about you loads tonight. much love xxxx

BellaMoon · 05/10/2017 21:13

sounds rather unpleasant @Anna2006 but we will go through whatever it takes. i had to google the injections as i wasn’t sure
what they’re for. i’m sure you’ll be grand chic xx

bakingmad83 · 05/10/2017 21:24

Sending lots of PMA your way Dolly. Good luck and will be thinking of you xx

BellaMoon · 05/10/2017 21:26

get your feet up @AmandaP86x sounds like you really need those days off! xx

Anna2006 · 05/10/2017 22:00

@bellamoon yes we certainly do all that we can! I have to have them as my mum had a DVT (blood clot in the leg) at quite a young age of 31 from going on the combined pill. So because there is a family history of it & they all seem to pull a face when it's noted how young she was (more rare I think) means I have to do the daily aspirin thing and these injections to ensure my blood doesn't clot. I could be fine but equally I could have inherited something from my mother like a clotting disorder which means it could potentially happen!

Do any of you sleep with a pregnancy pillow when it got later on? I don't feel like I need one yet but wondering if I should purchase anyway or wait until I need one if ever.

Will await any update from dolly in the morning!

BellaMoon · 05/10/2017 22:06

ignore the messy bed @Anna2006 but i got this off of groupon when the pubic pain was really bad. it’s turned out a god send and helped me sleep loads better. great for bump support and folding between the knees too! it’s massive but great value at £22!

hope all goes well with the injections then, i’m sure you’ll manage well. xxx

BellaMoon · 05/10/2017 22:08

pic won’t upload for some reason, will try again now using the groupon app x

Oh my goodness Dolly! Try not to stress, sending you lots of positive vibes. A friend of mine had her boy at 27 weeks and he's doing great. I've read that 35 weeks is normal for some women. Everything will be fine and can't believe you'll get to meet your little one soon x

bakingmad83 · 06/10/2017 06:26

Hope you've been able to get some sleep overnight Dolly.

I'd personally say wait and see whether you need a pregnancy pillow Anna. Never felt I've needed them either time, but know some women swear by them. If you've spare pillows you can always use them for support.

Dollydaydream2829 · 06/10/2017 07:27

Morning ladies,

Nothing much changed my end. Managed to get a couple of hours sleep here and there so feel better for it. Had the baby monitor on at 3am and everything still sounding great with baby and am actively tightening every 10mins. No change in strength, length or frequency so think I might be in this for the long haul lol! Im.just glad my body looks like it's making signs to do it itself, I really don't want to be induced although the drip is still a very real possibility.

I waited until I needed one anna - I bought one at around 28weeks for hip and pubic pain and was a bit of a godsend. But like baking said, not all women feel the benefit or need them.

Hope you're ok after your triage trip Amanda - that's a really low level - I'm surprised they didn't admit you for the iron infusion?! Especially being so symptomatic of it. At the very least, time to take some time off work!! Working in the wards defo won't help you feel less light headed with them being so hot and being on your feet so long in the day! If I've learnt anything with this pre-term labour business is that I should've maybe listened to my body a bit better and my baby instead of just trying to plough on!

Happy Friday everyone!!

AmandaP86x · 06/10/2017 11:20

@Dollydaydream2829 oh that’s good. Glad u got some sleep. I know they did suggest it but I opted for some iron first 😣 I have today off so had a good sleep and feel better today!! I can’t help myself but tidy up iron clean floors hoover etc 😭 am I nesting!!!! Haha xx

bakingmad83 · 06/10/2017 20:27

Glad to hear you're doing well Dolly. Hopefully you won't need the drip, but have read plenty of accounts on here about induction with drip not being as bad as expected, so hopefully yours will be positive experience if it does come to that.

Sorry to hear you're anaemic Amanda, but glad you're feeling better after some sleep and hopefully iron will do the trick :)

BellaMoon · 07/10/2017 07:27

hi @AmandaP86x sorry i missed your post about the anaemia. you really are a trooper for completing all those shifts! hope you’re days off hep, but try not to do so much nesting! x

hoping you had a settled night @Dollydaydream2829 looking forward to hearing from you x

i was up with the birds this morning as i couldn’t fall over to sleep again. i had this strange feeling that baby hadn’t been moving to his normal routine. i know movement changes as less room is available but i wasn’t sure if i should be concerned or not. from what iv read online, it’s fine as long as there is still some form of movement. am i right with that ladies? he has gone from proper belly rolls where i can feel and see it to lower down flutters xx
