Your mum's labour vs yours

Hi all

I've just been talking to my mum about her labour - I was her first and came at 38 weeks after a straightforward and fairly short labour. Is it too optimistic to think there's some kind of genetic link and my experience might be similar?

For those of you who already have DC, what were your experiences vs other female relatives?

I think my Mum had a long labour with my older brother but still just around 12 hourw, with me she was induced a few days earlier as she went privately so that she could have an epidural, I took approx 6 1/2 hours to arrive.

When I had my DD, labour was 5hrs 17 mins from the first contraction.

Mine were pretty similar, as were my sisters'. I've read somewhere that there's a decent chance they'll be the same :)

My mum had quick labours and painless contractions! I most certainly did not inherit either!

My man popped them out like shelling peas. My mum seriously struggled. So basically I hope I take after Nan!!!!!
