39 weeks pregnant and no sign of baby

39 weeks pregnant to day and no signs of baby coming. No show. Might have had a few braxton hicks hicks tightening's but not sure if that''s just wishful thinking.

Got an induction date for 40+2 due to essential hypertension and they don't want me to go too far over my dates.

Just really want baby to come here naturally :( They tried a sweep but midwife couldn't even reach cervix so not looking like its going to be any time soon x

any one in the same boat ?

Me neither. Had an appointment with the midwife today - she said baby is in a good position and ready to come out. Despite this, baby doesn't seem to be in any kind of hurry to get out!

lucylou1234 · 27/08/2017 21:39

40 weeks today, no baby. have tried dtd, rasberry leaf tea, walking, pineapple but no such luck. 5 more sleeps and it will be d day for induction :(

had a sore back past couple days but only there when i walk which makes me think it actually is just a sore back rather than a "sign" had a couple of "twinges" but again probably nothing.

got hospital tomorrow so hopefully they will try another sweep to move things along x

Ask how your cervix is doing and if you can ask for your Bishops Score.

If there's basically no movement with your cervix and baby is barely engaged if at all mentally open yourself up to the possibility of a CS.

And if it goes that way, it will be fine. X

ADuckNamedSplash · 27/08/2017 21:59

Good luck for tomorrow!

I think I've got some early signs of labour, but very slow ones! I've had morning sickness my entire pregnancy, but it's noticeably worsened since Friday. I've also been getting cramps on and off since yesterday lunch time and a bit of back ache today.

IStoleThisUsername · 27/08/2017 22:39

I've had 3 babies. Dd(14) came at 38 weeks, ds(12.5) came at 39 weeks.

DS2 (10 weeks) was induced at 41+6 and was by far my easiest and most enjoyable labour. I know it's easy to say but try not to worry. You'll have your baby soon and all this anxiety will be gone.

lucylou1234 · 29/08/2017 17:56

how u getn on duck ?

bp and ctg fine at hospital but attempted a sweep but basically no change from last week. got a of pink discharge yesterday which i had hoped was a good sign, but, here i am still pregnant.

got some clary sage oil and been massaging it into my belly. gym ball, raspberry leaf tea, brushing the floors on all 4s nothing seems to be working :(

back at hospital tomorrow n not even sure if its worth trying for another sweep to be told theres no change :(

I was just about to comment saying I had absolutely no signs at 39 weeks, no Braxton hicks, no show, nothing. Then my DD was born at 39+2. I see you've hit 40 weeks now, I hope you're not waiting much longer.

loveulotslikejellytots · 29/08/2017 18:42

I was only coming on to say that I had an emcs following a failed induction, it wasn't awful. Yes it's surgery (and a major one at that) but I was feeling ok after a week and driving after 2.5 (checked with midwife and insurance). I didn't need to go anywhere before that anyway. So even if, worst case scenario is a c section, it may not be as awful as you think. Being completely honest I'd take an elective next time over induction any day.

I've got everything crossed for you that it goes how you want it to, but just in case, a c section isn't the end of the world.

sophiejayne96 · 29/08/2017 19:03

Does anyone else burn up really bad during BH?

lucylou1234 · 29/08/2017 19:16

thanks guys :) jellytots the c section itself doesnt worry me - just the recovery and the fact im middle of know where but im gearing up for worst case scenario as this may happen with induction :(

panda i hope i wake up through the night but its not looking likely :(

sophie i dont know about braxton hicks but last few days i keep getting hot flushes but no braxton hicks xx

Nothing happening here - the cramps and back ache stopped yesterday! Sorry to hear that things aren't progressing for you either Sad

sophiejayne96 · 29/08/2017 19:33

🙈 May just have to Dtd with the OH, try and get things moving! 2 days tomorrow until my due date and I really do not want to go past Friday without some movement lol.

lucylou1234 · 29/08/2017 19:48

i've found the rest of my pregnancy has flew in but these last 2 weeks since i went on mat leave have dragged in. feels like 9 months in itself !

NEWS???

sophiejayne96 · 06/09/2017 12:43

Still no baby here xxx

ANiceSliceOfCake · 06/09/2017 14:58

I'm 39 weeks with baby number 2 and it never occurred for me to look for signs birth is imminent. My first was 2 days early so I didn't really expect it. What signs are people looking out for? I'm rubbish at this Grin

ADuckNamedSplash · 06/09/2017 17:13

Still nothing for me either - 41 weeks now!

ADuckNamedSplash · 07/09/2017 13:21

Finally some progress - contractions started around midnight and I had the show in the early hours of the morning. Contractions are still irregularly spaced though - anything from 6 to 18 minutes.

Lucylou1234 · 07/09/2017 18:53

Well ended up going in for my induction on friday, and had my baby girl on saturday after reciveving my 3rd round of prostin :). No further intervention needed :) Over the moon, slightly sleep deprived and totally worth it xxx

DUCK good luck, hope everything goes well for you x

Sweep number 2 for me tomorrow. Hoping for some movement! xxx

ADuckNamedSplash · 13/09/2017 05:08

Congratulations Lucy!!!

My DD has also arrived, albeit far later than I thought she"d be when I last posted! It took 50 hours for me to get into active and estblished labour, but 8 hours on, I was still only 4 cm dialated - despite various interventions to try and speed things up. So DD arrived via c-section on Saturday evening!

Sophiejayne - How's things now? If you're still hanging on in there, good luck - hope it won"t be much longer for you.
