I will admit i am 31 weeks and i am not doing much at all. And i mean barely any other than walking to and from wherever i need to go.....i know it's bad but by the time i am home from work and eaten i am knackered. Just wondered what others are managing Blush

Same here (34 weeks). Every day tasks are getting more and more tiring - no idea how I'm going to manage labour when I can't even do stuff that was a doddle before I was pregnant!

SpookyBookey · 21/07/2017 20:45

Nothing more than stretching and walking where I need to go. We are just about to move so I think I get my workout lugging around boxes.

Jellybabie3 · 21/07/2017 20:51

Ah ok that makes me feel abit better. Feel i should be doing more Sad still 9 weeks to go.

Just daily activities at this point. And my parents live at the top of a very steep hill so going up there has been my workout lately! I'm glad to hear I'm not alone.

Dede124 · 21/07/2017 21:15

Nothing at all. Wish I could but at the moment I can't even get to the top of the stairs without feeling like Iv done the triathlon 😱. My ass is stuck to the sofa most of the time. Wish I had more energy!

SpookyBookey · 21/07/2017 22:01

I overdue it majorly with my first and didn't rest at all and learnt my lesson! I had no energy in labour at all and needed so much intervention and was poorly after.

Our bodies want to rest for a reason, no harm in listening. In a month or two you won't have time to rest so bank it all in now Smile as long as you haven't developed cobwebs I wouldn't worry about it Grin

Mandraki · 21/07/2017 22:14

Literally none. Keep thinking of going for a walk but just walking to the shop at the top of our road will knacker me for the rest of the day. I keep telling myself I'll get out walking loads with the pram once she's here.

Jellybabie3 · 21/07/2017 22:28

Thanks all. Feel like im getting flabby but i guess theres not much hope to do much about it!

I'm currently doing one Body Pump and one circuit class a week at 36wks. I dropped Body Attack around 32wks as it was getting too much. I am also trying to do a little bit of exercise at home a couple of days but this depends on energy and motivation

Rockandrollwithit · 22/07/2017 06:53

Nothing. I've had HG for the whole pregnancy and the thought of exercise makes me want to throw up!

MmmMalbec · 22/07/2017 07:04

34+6 and the only exercise I do is following my toddler about, going to the park occasionally and walking round the supermarket. It's all getting too much hard work to be honest!

eurochick · 22/07/2017 07:09

I was swimming at that point. The weightlessness and cool water were bliss, and it felt good to still be doing something.

EdithWeston · 22/07/2017 07:38

I did none (except a very gentle weekly yoga class for the pregnant).

And the value of that was a bit moot, as in 2 of 3 PGs I had SPD and went more to chat than exercise.

Listen to your body and never attempt to exercise when you're tired.

Don't start to exercise again until about 6 weeks post-partum (I mean when your tummy muscles have returned to their proper place, because you can have longer term problems if they don't knit back properly). Near me, a physio practice ran short post-natal exercise classes, where they checked that everything was going back properly, and getting your core working again safely. You might like to see if there's anything similar near you that you could do when you are ready to re-start.

fezzik1 · 22/07/2017 07:42

I kept up spin classes through to 39+1, and this week I went to the pool instead, I also try to walk as much as possible! It's been a bit of a struggle the last few weeks all right, but I feel great afterwards, and I reckon it's why I've had no issues sleeping at all!

Jellybabie3 · 22/07/2017 10:05

Blimey. Seems one extreme or the other. I never did classes etc before pregnancy so i guess its not wise to start now Blush that said i did used to do abit of cross training and light weights. Been trying to keep up with the weights to stop the flappy bits creeping in but geez i dont feel inspired when i get home....

Sasmac2017 · 22/07/2017 10:10

Hey, I'm 36 weeks on Monday. I'm still going 5-6x a week. Light weights, swimming, walking, hiking. I'll admit I have to force myself and I've still gained a crap load of weight! I had a convo with chelle85 about strength training and how we were both feeling a bit flabby even though still training.

ememem84 · 22/07/2017 10:13

I'm walking as much as I can, swimming twice a week and am doing a very gentle stretch/yoga class.

ememem84 · 22/07/2017 10:13

Obviously and I'm 30 weeks

Lovechild2016 · 22/07/2017 10:14

I'm only 28 weeks but am going to crossFit (modified work outs) 3-5 times a week. I stopped for a week and felt exhausted and was more achy and slept worse so I've gone back. For me personally I'm better if I keep active, im taking it a day at a time though because I'm aware this may change as I get bigger! X

thepatchworkcat · 22/07/2017 10:59

I did nothing for my entire pregnancy. Too sick and tired! Don't worry!

chelle85 · 22/07/2017 11:11

Defo don't start anything now if you didn't do classes before. Just try to keep moving at this stage. Even if if that just means a bit of walking.

I agree with what Lovechild said...when I have a week off I feel more achy and exhausted ao that has what has pushed me to keep going on daya I don't feel like it.

And definitely feeling flabbier Sasmac. No amount of weights is keeping that at bay due to the additional fluid at this stage of the game but the hope is muscles are still under there and will be revealed again soon! (p.s well done on the 5-6x a week! 3 is defo enough for me now!)

NinaMarieP · 22/07/2017 11:49

Up until 36 weeks I was walking to work 3-4 days (1.25 miles) and and then I fell off a pavement and sprained my ankle and came off on maternity leave early.

I was and still am (38 weeks now) doing aquanatal aerobics once a week and a swim once a week at a special pregnant ladies only session. I also walk to the pool and back (only 3/4 of a mile but back is uphill most of the way).

My ankle's still pretty sore at times and what with hurting my other knee at the time my hobbling has exacerbated the ache in my back and hips so long walks are out now. I try to potter about the house every day though and go with my other half for a wander around Tesco when the shopping needs done.

Oh and I have a long list of exercises to do to support my back and hips and to try to reposition my stubborn OT baby.

BentleyBelly · 22/07/2017 15:16

Yoga class once a week and walking about 15 mins to and from work 3 days a week. Pooing picking the horses field every other day. Hoovering, housework, shopping and looking after 4 yr old dd. Not exactly exercise but feels like a heck of a workout right now! I'm shattered and my back is killing me but needs must.

feelingblue123 · 22/07/2017 17:39

27 weeks here and on 3 swims per week, a pilates class and some general walking and house decorating. Also done quite a bit of dancing at festivals during 2nd tri. Always really knackered between 3pm and 8pm though so tend to lie down then and chill/nap. Have one long lie in or afternoon in bed once a week.

lydiangel83 · 23/07/2017 16:39

25 wks here and trying to do to one swim, one spin and one pilates a week, however just come back from 2 wk holiday of doing nothing but eating lovely Italian foods and icecream.

Would be interested to hear how others have got on with spinning and what level they were maintaining their heart rate...
