I was just wondering with your first pregnancy how long before or after edd did your little bubbas come? And how long was your labour.

Ps: I do wonder if the labours of our mothers/grandmothers etc can indicate our labours.

My mum had me at 42w
My granny had two of her babies at 43+!

StinkyMcgrinky · 18/07/2017 21:21

DS1 35+5 (spontaneous labour) and 6hours
DS2 34 weeks (spontaneous labour). Hospitalised for 4 days in slow labour and then discharged, returned back to hospital 6 hours later and was taken go labour ward. Took 43hrs for DS2 to finally arrive Hmm

noplease · 18/07/2017 21:23

Thelegend- I think that sometimes. My mum had a similar labour with her 1st to what I had with mine. Her 2nd (me) was just 6 hours so I'm hoping for that if I have another!

ButtMuncher · 18/07/2017 21:26

One son, he was born at 38w+3. I was induced due to reduced movement and ended with c section. So my experience isn't particularly normal Grin

WhatwouldRuthdo · 18/07/2017 21:29

A week late and 3 days from the first pains to delivery. DC2 due in 6 weeks so hoping for a little speedier this time!

mammabear4 · 18/07/2017 21:30

Beans yes I definitely agree. I think it influences your outlook on it too - both my mum and grandma had natural, fairly quick births with no pain relief. From being a teen we would watch people giving birth in films, soaps, OBEM and they would both turn their noses us and be like ffs it's not that bad. Don't need to make those kind of noises. So dramatic. Etc. So I went into it thinking it would all be fine and I just needed to get a grip 😄 luckily discovered hypnobirthing and along with everything being straightforward did have a fab experience 👍

I'm 38 weeks today and feeling so fed up - hoping she arrives sometime soon rather than 2 weeks late like a lot of you guys! The idea of being pregnant for another month in this heat is awful!

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 18/07/2017 21:45

Waters broke at 34+6 and ds was born at 35+3. All a bit of a surprise. 22 hours altogether, I think.

n0ne · 18/07/2017 21:47

6 days early, 5 hours labour, 1.5 hours active labour, 4 mins of pushing!

Hoping to repeat that with this baby Grin

MommaGee · 18/07/2017 21:52

35 weeks. Waters went at 2pm on Wednesday then contractions started at 1 am Thursday then EMCS at 8 am.

whereareyousleep · 18/07/2017 21:56

41 weeks 28 hour labour.

SuperBeagle · 18/07/2017 21:59

41+2 and 10 hours from first contraction to baby.

I've been overdue with all of mine, but my longest (28 hours) was with my second baby, and my most overdue (42+0) was with my 3rd.

NancyJoan · 18/07/2017 22:01

Both mine were 4 days early.

beansbananas · 18/07/2017 22:01

I was ten days late, and in labour for almost 48 hours after having a sweep.

fannyanddick · 18/07/2017 22:02

40 + 11 and 32 hours.

mammabear4 · 18/07/2017 22:03

@n0ne oh my goodness!! Dream birth!

Oysterbabe · 18/07/2017 22:13

35+5, 4 hour labour.

Mrsknackered · 18/07/2017 22:23

DS1 was 42 + 2. Induction started at 41+ 6. It took a while but honestly I was so drugged up I don't remember at all and don't think I was that aware during!

DS2 was 39+3 - also induced and 10 hours active labour. So much faster! But no drugs and was much more aware Hmm

happymumof4crazykids · 18/07/2017 22:25

1st @ 37 weeks 15 hr labour
2nd @ 40 + 2 12 hr labour
3rd and 4th induced at 38 weeks 2 1/2 hrs and 4 hrs

harleysmammy · 18/07/2017 22:40

39+3, I did walk 9 miles nearly every day for 2 weeks to try and get him shifted though haha!

harleysmammy · 18/07/2017 22:41

Sorry I missed my labour. My water broke at 3 am, my 9lb 3 oz son was born at 6 am the same morning. I think I got lucky haha

Malapropist · 18/07/2017 22:45

1: 39w exactly. Approx 5 hour labour
