Why have a baby when you can spend the cash equivalent going around the world and then on a big welcome home party?

So it costs a quarter of a mil to raise a kid in the UK. I went to a space cafe in Bali where a beer is 50p and a shroom shake is 2 quid. Granted you have to hang out with Millenials who let fireworks off on the beach willy nilly but food for thought. No?

Does anyone remember Blubber?! Grin

Riversleep · 20/07/2017 16:47

I read Judy Blume when I was a teenager. I loved them but I was born a decade earlier than 1984 so maybe they had home out of fashion by then. But op more to the point, aren't you the oldest person in Bali drinking Shroom shakes? I did the last of my globetrotting at 29 and was the oldest by about 5 years. It was mildly depressing being surrounded by teenagers even then!

Could Winston be younger than we think and have chosen her user name based on Orwell's 1984?

Judy Blume was very popular with my generation (born in the early 80s)

NurseMama · 21/07/2017 11:35

I'll take both! Minus the drugs. ;)

Winston84 · 21/07/2017 16:12

I don't do drugs anymore (apart from poppers, which obviously don't count). Just googled Judy Blume, she looks like the love child of Cliff Richard and Thelma out of Thelma and Louise. Thoughts?

Whatever you're smoking... I want it

ethelfleda · 21/07/2017 19:06

Already done my travelling, thanks (And Bali is largely a shit hole TBH)

I'm now 23 weeks with first and would take settling down with a family over more travelling any day of the week. Happiness is more important than money in the bank.

Winston The books Especially 'Forever' are sexy -for teenagers- not necessarily her! I loved Paula Danziger too! I'd forgotten all about her!

I've just realised this is in 'pregnancy'- surely a place for people who are pregnant, so it's a bit late for your financial advice Grin

Dammit!! Too late now.
