First baby contractions first, waters were broken in hospital.
Second baby waters first and contractions started 36hrs later. Would have been induced at 48.

I'm a midwife and I thought I'd heard it all but never have I heard of anybody using a dessert spoon to try to remove their mucus plus from their cervix Shock

hangingkebab · 30/06/2017 21:13

Why in holy fuck did you remove your plug with a spoon?

If you are considering doing that again, I suggest you talk to your midwife and film her face so that you can post it here

My waters went with a pop. Contractions started an hour or two later and were immediately intense and close together. I stayed at home 5hrs before going in to hospital, and after another 15hiurs they put me on the drip. Which was blessed relief as the contractions didn't hurt as much and felt like they were actually doing something. Unfortunately I'd already been pushing for 3 hours and was just too exhausted to get the job finished. I'd take induction immediately if offered.

DS2 my waters went first. I was out for a walk with DS1, and they they just gushed all down my legs. Contractions started an hour later.

Can't quite get past the desert spoon comment, though...Shock

Waters went and contractions started within a few minutes. DC born 3hrs later.

Contractions for 24 hours before waters went, 3 minutes apart from the start, when I hadn't dilated any further (6cm) 6 hours later I was advised to have a section. I did. It was fine. (He was back to back and funny presentation and all sorts apparently.)

Was in the process of being transferred when my waters went, Dh thought if knocked a mop bucket over. Drenched two paramedics and a midwife.
