I am feeling absolutely terrible. I know I shouldn't complain too much because I am not actually vomiting. But I feel desperately sick, and it gets progressively worse throughout the day. It feels like a bad case of norovirus or something although unlike noro, I am pretty sure that in this case actually being sick wouldn't help.

I know these sickness threads have been done a million times but I keep reading about people whose sickness lasts well past 12 weeks. I can't bear the thought of that! Fortunately I am "working" from home (in fact not really working because I am struggling to concentrate through the nausea) but next week for example I have to stand up and deliver a talk to 400 delegates at a conference. I am dreading it and am having all sorts of nightmares about throwing up on stage!

So if you were feeling very sick at 10 weeks, did it get better any time soon after that? I have read that for some people it does peak around now. I'm desperately hoping that might be me.

I have two DC already but felt nothing like as shocking with them.

Sympathies OP. Apart from the work stuff I could've written your OP! I am nearly 11 weeks and just hoping against hope that it doesn't last much longer.

This is my third baby (DCs now 9/7 so big gap) and I am feeling 10 times worse this time - even DH has said so, it's not rose tinted specs looking back IYSWIM. It was just waves of nausea with the other two not literally every waking moment.

It did clear up after the first trimester before so hoping it'll be the same this time... hoping!

Oddsocksforeveryone · 26/04/2017 17:11

I'm 13 weeks with dc4 and sickness is at its worst so far I'm struggling if I'm honest. We're paying someone to pick the kids up from school every day because lunch/afternoon/evening whenever I lose control and the vomiting starts it's like something from the exorcist.

But with 2 of my other dc I was sick most of way through. I was sick all over myself on my honeymoon 5 months pregnant.
Caffeine free coffee helped last time. So far this time nothing helps.
Hope everyone feels better soon

Oddsocksforeveryone · 26/04/2017 17:12

Caffeine free coke not coffee!

justanotheryoungmother · 26/04/2017 17:20

Mine went at about 28 weeks Sad

arbrighton · 26/04/2017 17:33

Every pregnancy is different. Just because some people felt better at time x, doesn't mean you will.

I was also nauseous but never sick, and felt sometimes, actually being sick would have helped. Only eating little and often helped, and avoiding some things if they smelt crap that week e.g. coffee one week.

Tailed off about 12 weeks for me

gluteustothemaximus · 26/04/2017 17:35

Mine went 24 weeks ish.

Have you looked at vitamin b6 for nausea?

GlennRheeismyfavourite · 26/04/2017 18:01

I felt horrendous (sick every night) between weeks 6 & 13/14 after that, much better (though terribly tired still). Hope you're feeling better soon - those sicky weeks were the worst of my life!

10storeylovesong · 26/04/2017 18:15

With ds I was sick all the way through pregnancy, like a pp I was still being sick while having contractions.

I'm now 17+3 and although it's not as bad as last time, I'm still being sick most days and feeling nauseaus constantly. And like you, I feel constantly sick while also being constantly hungry!

HatHen · 26/04/2017 18:20

Yes, at 13 weeks. Hang in there, it will get better.

mummabubs · 26/04/2017 18:34

Bless you OP. I'm now 16+3 and still being sick every day... BUT the worst part was definitely weeks 10-12 and odd as it sounds although I am still physically sick once as soon as I get up every day I'm actually far less nauseous during the day so it's more manageable. I do remember weeks 8-12 being absolutely miserable for me, it does get better! Xx

Erinys · 26/04/2017 18:41

I had horrible nausea with retching and some fairly spectacular vomiting from week 5 to week 13ish then it stopped as suddenly as it started.

FamilySpartan · 26/04/2017 18:52

Magically disappeared at 13 weeks and has only returned for a few days since.

marabounuts · 26/04/2017 19:05

no, but it got better after 22/23 weeks even though I had the occasional puke right until the very end. but the very worse was definitely over after 22/23 weeks. the last trimester was really a doddle compared to the first two!

underneaththestone · 26/04/2017 19:59

Sympathies to everybody also suffering. this is truly rubbish. I wonder if the gp would prescribe something to get me through the conferences, if there even is something. cagliostro - exactly the same gap for me. And I'm really really old to be doing this (44 yikes). Don't think that's relevant to the vom though. Thank you for replying everybody.

It's awful. Cyclizine is an antI histamine drs prescribe. It works well for stopping nausea as well as stopping being sick. I have hyperemesis and still very sick at 16 weeks buy been on this drug for a few weeks now and it's meant I am now usually only sick a few times in the morning rather than all day and get some nausea free hours too!! Worth asking

NinaMarieP · 26/04/2017 20:57

Mine only started to ease at 17/18 weeks. Absolutely see your GP and ask for something to help, I can also recommend cyclizine as it's really helped me. Doesn't take it away completely but has let me lead a pretty normal life again.

NotTheBelleoftheBall · 26/04/2017 21:11

I felt a billion times better at 13 weeks. So much better that I was worried I wasn't feeling any symptoms anymore. In fact during my middle trimester I felt absolutely fine, increasingly fat, but fine. I have my fingers crossed for the same for you!

BellyBean · 26/04/2017 21:19

I was surprised at how willing my gp was to prescribe (I recommend hormonal crying). Definitely speak to them.

Eeeeek2 · 26/04/2017 21:56

32 weeks but then I threw up from 3 days before my period right up to 32 weeks despite drugs

Eeeeek2 · 26/04/2017 21:57

^ Period was due

twattymctwatterson · 26/04/2017 22:40

Had my first no-nausea day just prior to 20 weeks but continued to feel/be sick on and off to about 25/26 weeks

BarneyRumbleton · 26/04/2017 22:44

Mine dropped off suddenly too and I rang my mum terrified there was something dreadfully wrong. I think that was around 13 weeks.

Michellemc1xo · 26/04/2017 23:55

In my first pregnancy no, this time round yes

Strokethefurrywall · 27/04/2017 00:47

With DS1 I had drugs and vomited multiple times daily until about 11+6 bang on when I found I could go a day without needing the pills. Still continues to upchuck a few times a week when something didn't agree but didn't feel nauseous.

DS2 I felt sick through until 16 weeks but didn't get as sick. Chucked on a tin of weight though eating away my nausea!

Sample1936 · 27/04/2017 05:08

No sorry. Felt better 16 weeks to 24 then was heavy again.
