Not felt any kicks today

Background:
Monday I went into assessment unit as i had been feeling kicks & movement but very few & far between, led on my left side for 2 hours but very faint movements & not the 10 the midwife wanted.
So I went in, hooked up to a monitor & he suddenly woke & and kicked loads....midwife thought it may be that he was kicking towards my back so I couldn't feel it.

Had a scan next day, all was fine.

Yesterday he was really active kicking loads & today nothing.

What do I do?? I've already been in this week & been told all is fine!

Oh, I'm 34 weeks

Agree your Dsis is wrong, they don't even say to count a certain number of kicks now - just that if baby's pattern has changed and it's not normal for your baby no matter how many kicks then seek advice. Hope you can be seen soon Flowers

DropZoneOne · 03/03/2017 20:03

Your sister is talking bollocks please please call the midwife.

I don't mean to scare but going to hospital saved my daughters life at 34 weeks. She wouldn't have lasted the night. Every health professional who saw my notes over the next week thanked me for going in when I did.

RandomMess · 03/03/2017 20:05

Hopefully you've gone in now, ignore your sister and keep counting those kicks!

MrsStinkey · 03/03/2017 20:20

Phone the midwife and get yourself checked asap! They don't care how many times you've been in before. They'd much rather you went in and all was fine than for you to wait and something awful was to happen. Please get checked op.

Karmaisabitch · 03/03/2017 20:26

Do I still need to go in if I've just felt him move??

OP posts:
WoopWoop200 · 03/03/2017 20:28

If it is reduced movement then I would say yes.

Ring the antenatal unit and ask them. They won't think you are wasting time at all

AssassinatedBeauty · 03/03/2017 20:32

I would say yes, still get checked out if the movements are less than normal, even if you've felt the odd one or so.

bingandabong · 03/03/2017 20:36

Yes as his movements are reduced! Go in get checked!

Ellypoo · 03/03/2017 20:41

I really hope you've gone in - midwives never think you're paranoid or wasting time - it is always better to be safe than sorry.
You must go and get checked, straightaway.

Blizy · 03/03/2017 20:59

Please, please do go into maternity assessment. Any change in movement reduced or increased(basically any movement that's not normal to you). I don't want to scare you but you just get baby checked.

Notanotherpawpatrol · 03/03/2017 21:09

If you haven't already please go in. I was in last Saturday for reduced movements, Sunday she still wasn't back to normal so off I went again, and then was in Monday too. No-one at the hospital told me I was a paranoid mum, no one wrote it all over my notes or made me feel bad for being there. They all said I'd done the right thing, they all agreed that they would rather see me and check everything was fine, than it not be fine.
Please op go and get checked.

Karmaisabitch · 03/03/2017 21:09

In AAU, just got here. Sat waiting now.
Had to practically run to the toilet as nearly wet myself, drank 2 pints of Coke to see if it would wake him up Hmm apparently not.

Only one woman before me so fingers crossed it won't be too long.

Truebelles · 03/03/2017 21:10

Well done for going in. Never worth taking the chance.

BertieBotts · 03/03/2017 21:12

The midwives aren't scaremongering. I'm glad you've gone in. :)

Karmaisabitch · 03/03/2017 21:14

Feel like a right idiot, sat waiting & he's just kicked a few more times!

OP posts:
Starlight2345 · 03/03/2017 21:15

Glad you are there..My DS at that stage used to move around for 24 hours then have a long sleep and I had to prod him to get him to move..However you absolutely are in the right place...You will never regret an extra check you may regret not going in.

Hoping all is well

Blizy · 03/03/2017 21:15

You shouldn't feel like an idiot! The midwives will tell you the same, it's always advised to get any change in movement checked out. I'm glad your wee monkey is kicking away now.

AssassinatedBeauty · 03/03/2017 21:16

Let them monitor and check, just to be sure. I had reducing movements over a few days, culminating in no movements at all. It was the change in the pattern that I noticed, even though he was still moving a bit up until the movements definitely stopped.

Karmaisabitch · 03/03/2017 21:16

Should I bother staying or just go home now??

OP posts:
Truebelles · 03/03/2017 21:16

It is NEVER stupid to get reduced / changed movements checked. As someone whose life has been directly affected by this please trust me. If in doubt- go and be checked over.

Truebelles · 03/03/2017 21:17

Stay.

Karmaisabitch · 03/03/2017 21:19

I just feel like because I've been here for antenatal depression, that they might get SS involved when he's born because I've been in "too many times" with reduced movement

OP posts:
DropZoneOne · 03/03/2017 21:19

Karma, you've done the right thing. So much better to be checked out, even if you feel daft once baby starts disco dancing.

And if you get reduced movements again, head in again. and again. and again. Don't ever think "well I was seen two days ago, or last week, so it's all fine". Just go.

Trooperslane · 03/03/2017 21:20

OP - who cares if they think you are needy.

You have a legitimate concern. Make them take you seriously.

DO NOT GO HOME if you are still worried..

big hugs x

True belles is right.

BipBippadotta · 03/03/2017 21:20

Please go in. Ask for them to do a doppler scan of the blood flow through the umbilical cord.
