Interested to know the answers to this question Smile

Midwife said to me that 'a girl my size isn't going to make a 6 pounder'. For the record Im 5,9, size 10/12. Not the best thing to be told!

I'm 5'7" and my baby was 8lb 4oz when she was born...lighter than i expected (my mum was 5'11" and I was 9lb 9oz when I was born) but she was so ROUND!

Please don't pay attention to flippant remarks, you're pregnant, everyone's got an opinion for a pregnant lady Confused

SolomanDaisy · 15/02/2017 07:19

I'm 5'6" and I've had one baby above 98th centile and one below the 5th!

SuperBeagle · 15/02/2017 07:22

I'm 5'7" and DH is 6'4". We're both very slim.

DC1 was 20in and 8lb 2oz at 40+9 weeks.
DC2 was 20.5in and 8lb 6oz at 40+11 weeks.
DC3 was 18.5(!!!)in and 7lb 14oz at 39+5 weeks.

I'm 5'9'' and a size 14/16 - DS was a dinky 6.14

Cantchooseaname · 15/02/2017 07:39

I am 5'8, dh is 6'2. Dd was 7lb3oz- 25th centlie. Ignore them. The sonographer who did scan at 36 weeks described her as 'off the charts'. I cried for days.

I am 5ft 7, size 10 and my daughter was 8lbs 6oz 52cm long. Had 20w scan for DD2 yday and she is measuring on 70% percentile. Tend to think that our bodies wouldn't grow a baby too big to carry/birth in normal circumstances? So whilst you can have a perfectly small baby, your body is also more equipped to handle a big baby than someone who was v petite if that makes sense?

toomuchtimereadingthreads2016 · 15/02/2017 08:38

Forgot to add, DH is 6ft 2. Now she is older its more apparent how tall our DD is, she doesnt look out of place with children two years older! But is slimand eats like a horse, just like her dad...

peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/02/2017 08:43

I'm 5'4" on a good day, size 22/24 and DS was a perfectly average 7lb15oz. They warned me he'd be 11lb+ at scans, but midwife assured me he felt a totally normal size.
He is very tall now, and fairly stocky, but my DH was exactly the same at his age and is now a skinny 6ft bean pole.

MistressMolecules · 15/02/2017 08:49

Im 5'6" and gave birth to a 9lb 4.5oz and a 9lb 9.5oz baby. First baby I was a size 8 and she was 10 days late so would likely have been a touch smaller. Baby 2 I was a 12 and she was 1 day late. Both girls were long.

annlee3817 · 15/02/2017 08:51

I'm 5ft 1 and DH is 6ft, our DD was 7lbs 10oz which is about the same as both of us when we were born

savagehk · 15/02/2017 08:54

5ft4, 9lb4. I was the exact same weight at birth. My mother was taller but still very slim.

clarabellski · 15/02/2017 13:54

Hey, I'm 6ft size 14 and my DS was 7lb6oz born at 42 weeks

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 15/02/2017 14:00

I'm 4'11", DH is 5'6" . DD was born at 8lbs and follows 75th centile for height and 50th for weight. We expect her to be taller than me while still in primary school.

bonnymnemonic · 15/02/2017 14:00

I'm 5'8", DH is 6' and DD was born at full term weighing 6lbs 15oz. She grew very quickly since and is in 90th centile plus for height and weight now.
