Reason I can give for not drinking on night out with friends?

Ok, so tomorrow night we are out with two of our best friends. The plan is to get the train into the city & have cocktails before dinner.

I 100% cannot tell them I am PG, they are family friends and I haven;t told my Parents yet so I can't risk other people in their friendship group finding out before they do.

I am such a cocktail lover though, they are going to guess the minute I don't order a drink :(

What I did was either order my own mocktail and happily drink it. Or just sip at one I was given (it's not going to hurt you) and then either casually abandon it somewhere or just not drink it. People rarely notice what other are drinking. It's the refusal that they notice. Depends on how astute your friends are. And would they seriously tell their parents that they thought you were pregnant cos you weren't drinking on a night out? Surely you just notice and keep it to yourself

Yes I am carrying on dry January. Say you are on a health kick and have to be up early for a run!|

Ok update! I am pretty sure I got away with it :)

I was handed a can of fruit cider as soon as we arrived at their house which I managed to pretend to drink before passing to hubby so he could have last couple of sips (read gulp down the whole drink).

With out meal I just played on the fact I really fancied a milkshake so ordered one of those & then in the bar we went to afterwards I managed to order a virgin cocktail with pomegranate & passion fruit that looked like any other drink I would normally have!

Thanks for all your help everyone, I think I will avoid any further nights out until I am ready to tell everyone!

I never understand the issue with people guessing. You don't have to confirm anything until you are ready.
