I have 3 girls so never had the chance to get it!

Why wouldn't you put a girl in that top hat suit? She wouldn't be operating it with her genitals!

reallyanotherone · 30/01/2017 10:13

I would have put a girl in that design top hat baby grow. Mine actually wore gasp navy sometimes.

Although i wouldn't have put either sex in it, but because it's an over the head rather than poppers down the front. I hated getting those things on and off.

Did none of you coordinate your baby's outfit with yours? No? Me neither.

Sleepsuits.

With DS we had lots of 'outfits', a couple of which I packed to bring him home in... Still came home in a sleepsuit. With DD I only packed Sleepsuits (in a couple of sizes) and is often found wearing them during the day even now at nearly 4 months. They are so much easier than other clothes. Best type of sleepsuit are the popper front ones. The over the head ones are a nightmare for poonami incidents.

QueenoftheAndals · 30/01/2017 10:32

The over the head ones have envelope necks, so in the case of a poonami they can be slipped down rather than over the head.

You don't need to get involved in the competitive not giving a shit that goes on here. If you want to buy a nice coming home outfit then go for it.
We got a lot of our baby clothes in John Lewis, they have some beautiful things.

DD wore a very cute sleep suit from Boots with mint green elephants on it which I adored and will be one of the keepers. She had a little oversized mint cardigan over the top which I crocheted for her. Looks very cute in all the pictures. Our dd was never a pucker and rarely created poonarmies so we could choose a nice outfit for her.

She also had a gorgeous sleep suit from JoJo which her nanny bought her I love their stuff and its great quality. Rather than wearing it home (it was a bit big) she wore it for the family photos we had taken at 3 months.

DC2 is due in 5 weeks. I have bought this (also from jojo) which I hope will fit and will be worn as a coming home outfit. I will try to crochet a little cardie in the next few weeks for this one too. If it dosent fit it will be in the 3 month family photo. Smile

I really do think its nice to buy something special and memorable for coming home, I know lots don't agree but if its something you would like to do then enjoy looking and I hope you find something super sweet.

DS's 1, 3 and 5 wore a sleepsuit with matching hat, DS2 and DS4 wore cotton dungarees with feet and vest underneath (so basically a sleepsuit without arms). DS2 had a hat to match. All were green and white to be colour co-ordinated with the moses basket. DH took photos of them all in the moses basket when they came home and we keep meaning to put them all in one of those photo frames that have space for 5 photos in a row (still not done it yet even though DS5 is 2.5 Blush).

Eh? I haven't got that vibe at all. Just people saying special outfits aren't practical, sleepsuits are easier for newborns, which they are. And don't plan on the outfit you picked, as a baby is likely to vomit or shit all over it the minute you put it on, so have an alternative ready.

It was a long time ago now but DS1 came home in a gorgeous blue shorts/stripy top outfit with a cute hippo on. Hippos are my favourite animal so I had to get it.

DS2 came home in navy check dungarees over a white tshirt.

I loved choosing and packing their coming home outfits.
