Oh my god! I have just replayed some video footage of my ds2?s birthday party this afternoon and even though I am only 6 months pregnant I already look full term. I was absolutely taken aback.

I have gained about one and a half stone but was a stone overweight to start so am actually at about the recommended weight gain for full-term. I am not going to diet but from now will incorporate a daily walk and cut out the c**p from my diet. I do eat very healthily but love chocolate, etc especially when pregnant.

Please tell me I am not on my own. And I would love to be able to lean on you all for support so I don't go off the rails for the next 3 months.

May I suggest talcum powder for those chaffing thighs?!

motherinferior · 22/06/2004 08:13

Or Sudocrem!

Interestingly enough, the only remark I ever had on my enormous breastfeeding bazooms (they were at that new-baby stage, and said babe was nestling between them in a sling) came from an oldish African-Caribbean bloke - and he sounded so appreciatively relaxed about it that I couldn't find it in my heart to disagree!

Thanks never thought of talcum powder, been using DP's cream for jock itch

Ooh, my thighs were chafing the other day in the hot weather. Sweaty podgy thighs - mmmmm

ChicPea · 22/06/2004 20:36

Get the talc QUICK!

I did resort to dd's baby powder the other day. Blissful relief! The joys of pregnancy in a heatwave (though no more hot weather for a while - isn't it wonderful?!!!!)

And can I have a penny please for everyone who has said "oooh, you'll be really big when it's really hot" (I'm 25 weeks). Someone even said "oh that was bad timing on your part" the other day. Thanks!

I've never been so glad to see rain in my life.

Samcj · 23/06/2004 09:36

I'm only eighteen weeks but I so so happily walked home in the rain without my umbrella this morning! I'm sick of the hot weather, I feel SO hot (and not in a good way!). I personally will forfit the tan for a summer of rain and snow, please! And I am normally at my ideal temperature on the tube on a hot summers day!!

Maybe it's pregnancy that means we are never happy but it is mid winter here in New Zealand. I have just been moaning to DH about trying to keep warm, finding shoes to fit, bending down to get socks on and having enough clothes to layer and I still have the pleasure of night feeds in a house with no central heating (no houses here have it). My internal preggie heater is working but it needs stoking up a bit.
