I'm pregnant with my first baby and have been making preparations for their arrival. Part of that was having to get a bigger car because my car has a tiny boot which is no good for a buggy! So we sold it tonight... I loved that little car... Sad Had it 5 years and planned to keep it forever. I watched the buyer drive it away (I may have waved lol) and then when he was out of sight I burst into tears! Sad

How silly! It's just a car. Damn hormones! Grin

What silly things have you got a bit emotional over whilst pregnant? Please tell me I'm not alone!

I sobbed because I wanted a ham salad sandwich. We had everything in for a ham salad sandwich. I was just upset that it didn't magically appear in my hand the moment I decided I wanted one.
Full on sobbing, snot everywhere.

Anything remotely sad makes me cry now but I cried in yoga because I wasn't allowed to do one of the relaxing opening of the pelvis poses due to SPD. Teacher had given me a different pose to do, which I was doing perfectly fine, but I just cried into my bolster like a big baby. I then cried again when I went home and told DH the story... don't think I'll be able to do that pose again without crying...Confused

I love that I'm not the only one who got attached to their car too. I really didn't expect my 'car grief' to be normalised or relatable! Smile

I cried again this morning when the dog trotted downstairs with the new jellycat toy I bought for the baby in her mouth. The dog is a teeny tiny dog, with the kind of teeth that can't even bite a slice of toast, so has never once chewed up any of her toys, and the toy will need washing before I could give it to the baby anyway. DH pointed that out, I have apologised to MaxwellDog for BU, and she is now curled up in her basket happily cuddling the jellycat bunny.

KevinMcCallister · 18/11/2016 12:26

I cried when a seagull stole my ice-cream. DH still takes the piss about it. It was shocking I tell you!

Currently 40+1 and cried like a baby this morning when DP reached over me to grab the remote. I thought he was going to give me a hug! Sob.

MumofChuckie · 18/11/2016 15:35

I cried at lunchtime because Waitrose sold out of yum yums.

SeriouslySomething · 18/11/2016 17:18

Dh put the basket of clean wet washing on top of the basket of dirty washing 4 times in 2 days (its usually in front of the tumble dryer waiting for the other load to finish so it can be dried)
So i lifted it off 4 times and on the 4 time i may have gone bat shit crazy.
We had a huge row and he stormed off back to work.
It was a culmination of things but it was the basket that tipped me over the edge.
I am 34 weeks and that basket is heavy and i tend to just throw the dirty washing in to the basket without looking so then dirty stuff goes in the dryer bleugh

Hearing that one on beyonces dancers got proposed to on stage at her show. I have no interest in beyonce or her dancers usually..

Kelsey28 · 18/11/2016 17:37

Not about the baby but I cried today when we watched a news article about Walnut the dog in assembly! (I teach six year olds)

AudreyBradshaw · 18/11/2016 18:18

Bawled my eyes out yesterday because Dh was singing Ellie Goulding's 'love me like you do' and I don't like that song. But I just love dh, sob, so, sniffle, much! 39+2.

gunting · 18/11/2016 18:21

I filled my car up with diesel and then forgot my PIN number. I sat in my car in the forecourt crying for 5 minutes until I remembered it Grin

JOEYDOESNTSHAREFOOD · 18/11/2016 18:34

I cried because I couldn't remember the word spoon.

cockermum85 · 18/11/2016 18:48

OP I sold my 8 year old convertible MX5 when we found out I was pregnant. I still cry and I'm 25 weeks now. I loved that car. My car now is brand new, shiny and has all the tricks but it's not my in reliable little Mazda. It's completely understandable.

My hormone emotion has only really hit this week, my tears are split between what I'd call 'real' things (tough work events and horrible obs appt) to the sillier. My sewing machine broke last night, my boss told me I couldn't work an event we're doing (I didn't even really want to - I just don't like feeling like I'm missing out) I defrosted what I thought was chilli. It it was actually bolognese.

All irrational but lovely! Hahahah!

Sparrowlegs248 · 18/11/2016 19:10

For God's sake don't watch Supervet. Or children in need. Or the cancer reaksearch advert with the baby.

ChickenSoupChef · 18/11/2016 19:25

Pg with number 4, for a couple of weeks we had to walk to school leaving at 8am. It was stressful getting ready with morning sickness and a long walk. I struggled not to burst into tears everytime we made it to school.

MrsDallowaySaid · 18/11/2016 19:33

This time, M&S Xmas advert... Last time, the trailer for that film about the dog who waits for his owner at the station every day even though the owner has died... Genuine heart rending sobs for two hours!

IDreamOfPeace · 18/11/2016 21:18

I haven't seen the M&S advert yet but I may have to avoid it! A few people have said it's set them off now!

Dare I ask what it's about??

Last time, Gordon Brown's resignation speech. I didn't even like him. I also vividly remember getting ready to go out for an evening and crying because my hair wouldn't straighten!

This time I seem to be even more emotional. Christmas ads always get me anyway.

TheWrathFromHighAtopTheThing · 19/11/2016 09:31

When I sold my wee car for a big family one, I genuinely had to pull over and have a big snotty cry.

That was the last car that was just mine. Now they're all sensible family cars that I don't hold any affection for.

ChocolateBudgeCake · 19/11/2016 11:31

ALL the Christmas adverts, no matter how crappy. I've also cried this week because I'm still pregnant (due tomorrow) and I've cried because I'm soon not going to be pregnant.

I watched Children In Need for about 10 minutes last night and sobbed! Had to turn it off.

SarahOoo · 19/11/2016 11:31

I cried my eyes out at Black Beauty (the film) last weekend. I'm 32 years old and seen it about 10 times! Bloody pregnancy hormones!

Allnightlong2016 · 19/11/2016 15:20

Totally understand you . I cried when my company car went back. Cried a few days after finding out I was pregnant and the lovely pjs I had just bought weren't going to fit me anymore.

StillaChocoholic · 19/11/2016 15:53

I'm getting emotional just reading people's reasons for crying here!

I do not cry though, oh no.

AudreyBradshaw · 19/11/2016 16:02

Oh, and one of the first clues that I was pregnant was when I was watching a programme about criminals and a man getting arrested had the same style glasses as my dad . No other similarities other than my dad and this man both have a face...well, fuck, that broke me for good for about 20 minutes.

I've been beyond heartbroken a few times, brexit, cried for 2 days, Dh made me go sit up at my Mams while he went to work for that one. An old man buying pick and mix on his own with his little dog, he had a flat cap and a walking stick, I had to be escorted back to the car. Dh has been quite concerned, I've never been a crier as such. Grin
