I paid £725 in john lewis for the bugaboo car seat and adaptors, then got the foot muff bn from ebay £50. i woulden't of paid 1200 if i bought everything with it where was that from?

ScottishMummy · 16/02/2007 12:31

£1200 whaaaat was she looking at the daft white one or what

ScottishMummy · 16/02/2007 12:49

my experience of two left feet was that they are unreliable

i orderd a nursing chair and seat it arrived broken in a bashed box - had to really hassle them for replacement

imo, best avoided

also they used to be called two right feet went bust and changed name...

cor ur are right...

she must be bugabooed to the max - total product endorsement

but hey its her money and if she likes em and can afford it

BabyMadwithBump · 16/02/2007 13:25

She changed her mind since, I think it's to do with the fact there is just so many out there now!

Runninglate · 16/02/2007 13:34

Think ahead - if you will have to 'fold' your buggy or dismantle it on more than just an occasional basis or want to go in to small shops, use busy buses etc then DONT buy one. My friends who have one stupidly didn't think about the fact they live in a 2nd floor flat / have to leave the buggy 'folded' in a shared area etc and it's such a nightmare that they go everywhere with the baby sling.

Also - it's not only the bugaboo that turns on a sixpence - my maclaren techno XT does exactly that and is narrower, goes flat, folds, is light etc.

IMO, work out exactly what you want your buggy to do (depending on your lifestyle etc) and then find the product that fits your criteria!

ScottishMummy · 16/02/2007 13:41

i use cameleon on bus on daily basis never had 2 fold

many other prams eg quinny buzz/speedi, apple icandy, mutsy, mountain buggy, prams dont fold so it not a bugaboo specific issue

but yes it is good to consider all ur needs

Runninglate · 16/02/2007 14:35

I agree SM - there are lots of different styles out there and some are better at some things than others

pooka · 16/02/2007 17:26

the maintenance kit comes free with the cameleon. Wouldn't bother with the transport bag unless you plan on lots of flights. The changing bag - again wouldn't bother. You don't need to get extra tailored covers as the ones you choose with the pram are realy easy to wash and dry. Most bits and pieces accessory-wise can be picked up on ebay.

Mine cost about £600. And that included a free maxi cosi car seat and adaptors and a paid-for-by-me wheeled board and parasol.

Yes - expensive, but I don't regret it because having had when dd was little a maclaren techno xt, a pliko p3 and a borrowed bebecar system (and then a tandem when ds was born) this knocks the socks off all of them put together.

Booboobedoo · 16/02/2007 18:27

Mine arrived today, and it's gorgeous. I think I love it more than my DH.

Spent two happy hours playing with it.

ScottishMummy · 16/02/2007 18:41

Thanks ScottishMummy.

We've gone for a grey base with a yellow hood. It's luvverly.

pooka · 19/02/2007 14:30

I've got the grey base with the green hood and foot muff. I love it!

incy · 19/02/2007 14:31

That is the one I want Pooka. Can't find any on display locally - is it a nice combination?

pooka · 19/02/2007 14:35

I'm very keen. My local pram shop changes their displays about every week for fun - so one day they'll have pink/orange and another day blue and yellow and so on through all the combinations. They do look kind of cool, but a bit too mad for me!

pooka · 19/02/2007 14:36

NEarly went for red/grey. Think that is a good combination too. Or black/grey. Like them all really.

incy · 19/02/2007 14:40

Thanks Pooka - am also torn between the red/grey and green/grey. Have seen the red/grey combo but not the green. Maybe I will have to ask if they can show me. Thanks

ScottishMummy · 19/02/2007 18:05

look at bugaboo website they show all the colour combination

click cameleon, go to colours - then chose away til ur heart content

bugaboo color chooser - base and fabrics

i went for red base red fleece, black fleece and sand fleece

i think they all look so funky

incy · 20/02/2007 09:24

Thanks Scottish mummy that is useful...off to try green and grey

Annie75 · 12/03/2007 15:26

I'd really recommend buying one second hand. I've just got one in amazing condition and a third less than you'd pay new. I didn't get it from eBay, but I did notice there are lots coming up all the time there. I like the feeling of reusing something too.

I've bought a Frog, which was the first version they bought out. You can still buy accessories and new covers until the autumn (try Lullabys online). As I understand, the Chameloen (the new model) now has suspension on the wheels and adjustable handles, but all the kit new was the price of a small second hand car! For me, it felt like a good choice as I walk the dog a lot and it can cope with rougher terrain. It's also lovely and light and the mum I bought it from said once she'd learnt the knack of taking it down and putting it up, it's dead easy (she did it in one deft hand movement!). I like the fact that I can change the way my baby will be facing just by moving the handles forward or back - v clever.

Whatever you buy, do consider something second hand - you'll get a higher spec model for much less, will be passing on your money to another mum and will be reusing what is a big bit of kit!
