Sat here on my own crying and scared.

I'm 24 weeks. I just feel like I need air. I'm so out of breath even when I'm sitting or laying.

I rang the doctors on Friday and she doesn't care. The midwife doesn't want to see me until 30 weeks and I just feel like I'm suffocating

Has the shortbess of breath come out of nowhere? You need to phone am ambulance if it has. Have you had any other problems so far? Blood pressure been ok?

DoubleCarrick · 19/09/2016 23:48

Since Wednesday. I had my whooping cough vaccine Tues. Since Tues I've basically just slept.

I'm not short of breath enough to call an ambulance and it's easing now but guaranteed it'll be back tomorrow morning again. It's five times or so every day. Blood pressure very good - low but within normal range 110/60 a couple of weeks ago

Ps thankyou for your reply. Being scared and alone isn't pleasant

Are you having palpitations too? Be careful, I don't want to scare you, but I had palpitations amd shortbess of breath at 25 weeks and they had to check for all sorts, including a blood clot on the lung (all tests came back clear, and it was put down to working too much amd being stressed) so don't suffer in silence. You know your body!

panad317 · 19/09/2016 23:58

Bloody hell-my spelling's awful! Sorry 😂

DoubleCarrick · 20/09/2016 00:00

No palpitations, no. The doctor dismissed me on the phone so quickly on Friday that I feel like I'm making a fuss.

It takes 3 weeks to get a doctors appointment here so if the duty doctor doesn't want to see me after a phone call (like Friday) then I have to wait.

Please ring 101 or go to A&E op,I would think any shortness of breath needs checking out ASAP.

panad317 · 20/09/2016 00:03

The doctor was wrong to dismiss you if you're short of breath! I too would ring 101 for advice

DoubleCarrick · 20/09/2016 00:04

I know in my head I need to be seen but I'm so scared of being turned away again like I was on Friday.

I'm sorry I'm being pathetic. I can't stop crying. This isn't like me at all

OP posts:
panad317 · 20/09/2016 00:05

You're not being pathetic or making a fuss, even if it's nothing, you need reassurance!!

Ledkr · 20/09/2016 00:07

I had this with two of my Pgs I think it's the diaphragm being pushed up.
Don't panic, just go to a and e to be checked out X

WatcherOfTheNight · 20/09/2016 00:08

Double if you are worried enough to post on here then you need checking out & reassurance.

Have you noticed any other symptoms?
Change in colour of your lips or finger tips?
Dizziness?
Is the baby still following its moving pattern ?

DoubleCarrick · 20/09/2016 00:09

They'll just say to go to the out of hours doctor and I get to sit for hours and wait.

I guess I'd rather that than kill my baby or something. At least he's still kicking away.

I'll call them now

I have big black rings around my eyes, look gaunt according to dh, am massively tired and feel weak.

OP posts:
panad317 · 20/09/2016 00:11

They should be able to give you an appointment over the phone with an out of ours doctor

onecrazycook · 20/09/2016 00:11

Assume you guys mean 111 as 101 is the police non-emergency?

Do you have a walk in centre OP?

WatcherOfTheNight · 20/09/2016 00:12

Can you get DH to ring on your behalf ?
Sometimes a partner notices more than we do & it may help if they realise he is also concerned.
I'm sorry you are so worried & upset,it's awful when you feel no one is listening.Flowers

DoubleCarrick · 20/09/2016 00:13

It's not as such a walk on centre but 111 can give you an appointment with the out of hours gp. You go to a&e and there's a doctors on the side of it

OP posts:
DoubleCarrick · 20/09/2016 00:13

I've left dh in bed asleep. He's exhausted

OP posts:
WatcherOfTheNight · 20/09/2016 00:13

Yes 111 Confused
Sorry Op not had much sleep recently!

GreatBritishBakeOff · 20/09/2016 00:16

I would definitely be calling 111
Or perhaps the maternity assessment unit if you have one at your hospital. They tend (sometimes) to be a bit more sympathetic than a gp, they know a bit more about it all.
If you're worried, go get checked.

DoubleCarrick · 20/09/2016 00:27

Just got off the phone to 111. The lady kept putting me on hold to speak to a nurse about my call. Out of hours doctor will ring me back in the next hour

OP posts:
GiddyOnZackHunt · 20/09/2016 00:33

If 111 doesn't get you anywhere then go to the ante natal ward tomorrow. You could be anaemic (breathless, tiredness etc), you could just be poorly or it might be something else.

DoubleCarrick · 20/09/2016 01:02

Fobbed off. I thought I would be. She basically just said you're getting yourself worked up and to relax.

Totally not the truth.

No one is bloody listening to me

DoubleCarrick · 20/09/2016 01:05

I'm just going to self diagnose and take some iron tablets for a few days. Hopefully that'll improve things a little
