I'm pregnant with my first, I've heard that first babies come late.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

My first was 36 weeks. Contractions started at 32 weeks but we managed to keep him trapped in there for an extra month.

My sister's first was 37 weeks.

Most people I know were 40+ weeks with their firsts though.

NapQueen · 17/08/2016 10:09

40+2 contractions. 40+3 arrived.

PotatoBread · 17/08/2016 10:11

DD born at 34 weeks

Friend recently went 10 days overdue with her DS.

Dont think there is anyway of knowing really!

DramaAlpaca · 17/08/2016 10:12

My first came a week early.

Kissedbubble93 · 17/08/2016 10:14

I'm 30 weeks tomorrow, but I've been having Braxton hicks my midwife said and I'm measuring quiet big.
Yesterday I had the poops and I've heard this is a common sign of early labour too.

So naturally I'm a bit worried

Both of mine were late. First 4 days and the second 6 days.

doggydogworld · 17/08/2016 10:20

First came at 23 weeks!

ohidoliketobe · 17/08/2016 10:21

40+3 for me. Thinking through my closest friends, from due date to 40+6 seems to most common week

TheWeeBabySeamus1 · 17/08/2016 10:25

39 weeks exactly and a really quick labour. My midwife told me I was measuring big and that the baby would be at least 9lb Shock, luckily she was wrong (7lb 1oz). Smile

Auntybella · 17/08/2016 10:32

38+3. I'm not sure if my HGwas a contributing factor. I was also told at a scan the day before that he was over 8lbs at 38+2. He came out at 7lb1oz

Kissedbubble93 · 17/08/2016 10:32

I'm hoping baby holds out a little longer but he/she is laying really low and its starting to hurt slightly

Not sure if I'm being dramatic. As I've never been preg before

Try not to worry too much.

Braxton Hicks are perfectly normal. They're also quite different from actual contractions.

Always call your midwife with any concerns but try not to worry yourself. Flowers

DollyBarton · 17/08/2016 10:37

I was 1 week early on my first, one week late on my second and bang on due date for my third (by 1 minute).

AddictedtoGreys · 17/08/2016 10:39

My first was 38+2, currently 38+4 with my second!

SwishySplash · 17/08/2016 10:40

10 days late with DS.

triangularchocolate · 17/08/2016 10:40

40 + 5 for me officially, but 2 days early by my own calculations (based on OPKs)

MerricatsHouse · 17/08/2016 10:40

Went in to labour at 38+5, DS born exactly a week early (42 hours later) Hmm . He was 8lb 3oz so glad he didn't stick around for an extra week or so!

Knittedfrog · 17/08/2016 10:43

40+15 here. Had to be induced twice.

Munchkin08 · 17/08/2016 10:44

14 days late !!

originalusernamefail · 17/08/2016 10:46

40+6 and 40+4 for me.

Whatsername17 · 17/08/2016 10:48

41 weeks. 2 weeks on contractions starting and stopping. Very low bump for two weeks before.

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 17/08/2016 10:58

DS (my first) was 3 days early

Lj8893 · 17/08/2016 11:02

40+1 here! Braxton hicks from about 32 weeks and diarrhoea on and off for the whole 3rd trimester.

Wouldn't worry too much yet op Flowers

weegiemum · 17/08/2016 11:14

I was 4 days early with dd1 and she was 9lb12oz!
10 days early with ds - he was 9lb3oz so very glad he came when he did!
dd2 was born at 36+6, but that was an induction.

CarrotVan · 17/08/2016 11:27

A week late for me with DS1

40 wks is an average because women gestate naturally for slightly different time periods. Both my sister's kids were born at 37 wks (naturally, no complications) as that's her gestation period.

So anywhere between 37-42 weeks is totally normal
