I am pregnant with number 2 and only 4 weeks and scared :( I felt the same first time around and have been desperate for number 2 and now it's happened i feel like I'm on a roller coaster and can't get off and wondering what I have done.

I was never sick with number 1 but heard so many people say pregnancy 2 is worse and waiting for 6 weeks to hit :(

I'm mildly emetophobic (I say mildly but don't really have anything to measure it against, haha), I am nearly 24 weeks pregnant and was sick every evening without fail for about 10 weeks (8 weeks ish onwards). I was totally fine during the day but at night I felt awful, I think I would have been sick more often if I wasn't so accustomed to trying to control it/not be sick. I know that sounds unhelpful but I'm trying to say that it probably has helped me slightly, I know it's not the end of the world now if I'm sick and I'm a pro at it now so can get it over and done with Grin I'm sure if it started up again it would be another story, and if I was worse in a subsequent pregnancy I would get something from the doctors to help. Take anything you need, if and when you need it :)

It's called Phenergan. It knocks you out though so don't take it and drive. And don't take it at all in pregnancy unless the doctor prescribes it! Smile

Oh ok thanks for that. My daughter was prescribed this when she was tiny for allergies, I remember it knocked her out like a light.

Sorry that scared you, I didn't mean it to! Sad I would have got medication but because I felt fine during the day I kept not going, and as soon as I went to bed I was ok. And not ill at all in the morning, I was just happy I was at home where I felt comfortable. I feel totally fine now! It wouldn't stop me doing it again :) you'll be fine xxx

Interesting thread, I have one DD and wouod love to have more but I'm too scared of being pg again. I had a terrible pg where I was in the cusp of being sick non stop for the first 20 weeks and then feeling sick still for the remainder. I literally was bed bound and barely left the house for the entire oregnancy. It was the hardest thing I have ever done but now I have DD I wouldn't have it another way. I was on anti sickness pills from 5 weeks and think anyone including non emet would have struggled with what I went through.

I'm now at the point of am I going to have another or not, and I do so want one but I don't think I can cope and do it given my history of issues with hormones and pg. I really salute those of you that are doing it and wonder if y can do it maybe I can, but still I just don't think I'll ever manage it. At least you ladies won't live your life with what ifs and regrets unlike me

Oh bless you - if I'd had a pregnancy like that I don't think I'd have the courage to do it again. Mine was good and I am still scared stiff. You sound like you coped so well and you should be proud.

I wasn't even sure I'd do it once let alone twice but I really want my little girl to grow up with a sibling. It's still feeling surreal to do it again :( I should be over the moon.

If you decide to stop at one that's completely understandable. If you do it again you coped last time and you would do it again. I know it's scary though

That's why it scares me Ld - the lack of control of it. Being sick in public terrifies me. WellErr This anti nausea med sounds great but how does it work if it's a stomach bug? I was always lead to believe it just has to run its course and there's nothing you can do so would it help with that? Stomach bugs are my major fear, if I know someone is ill from drinking too much or what they've eaten or due to meds etc it doesn't scare me so much because I know the reason for it, it's not catchable and is just not as scary.
