Just wondering if anyone else is doing slimming world? I was doing it before I fell pregnant have told my leader I am pregnant and intend to continue. Has anyone else continued with it successfully and managed to maintain weight, lost weight or gained minimal weight?

I've been very naughty today. Cream of chicken soup, white bread with butter and full fat Coke. Aiming to eat the two punnets of strawberries instead of chocolate!!

I was so good all day... overnight oats for breakfast, carrot sticks and cherry tomatoes for snacks, turkey breast with peppers and cucumber in whole grain wrap for lunch...

Then just devoured a whole baguette, with a whole Camembert and then chocolates to follow. I blame the fact I've had 2 hours sleep and feel terrible!

great to hear so many other people doing it. I did sw years ago and have been at a stable and healthy bmi since then. However i found the first half of my pregnancy tough and the only thing to stop the sickness was eating. I got a shock when I weighed myself at 20 weeks to find out I had put on over 2 stone! made me feel pretty rubbish. have since rejoined sw with a plan to limit the damage. feeling much more in control already but as lovely as my leader was got a few unhelpful comments from other group members and colleagues so it's great to get support from you lot!!

Hi! I had been about to start an extreme diet (vlcd food replacement) to try and loose a stone....when I said I'd better just check first as we had been unsuccessfully ttc for the last year- and there was a bfp! So I'm very early days, but thinking of joining slimmimg world. My last pregnancy I put on 3 stone, so I suppose this is more about prevention, and if I lost a couple of lb initially I'd be delighted! Do you go to class or do it online?

ScotsLamb · 20/05/2017 20:10

I go to class as the peer pressure helps! I've tried online and failed.

10storeylovesong · 20/05/2017 20:29

I went to class to lose the weight and will be going straight back once I've had baby. Just following loosely from home at minute. Not counting syns etc but following the principles of free and speed food.

When you're trying to follow SW but you've got a 10 hour shift ahead and you're hungry ALL THE TIME...

Hi everyone, I'm currently 20 weeks and feeling proud of myself as I've only gained 7lbs so far! For first 4 months I was off most healthy foods so I lived on pasta, cheese and apples, and chocolate.. It was nice knowing that mac and cheese made with my hexA choice was free! Tbh even through I'm feeling much better it's hard to stick to it 100%, I eat white bread when I want and never say no to a cake. I do yoga 3 times a week too. I know it will probably catch up with me but until then I'm happy.

Thingymaboob · 21/05/2017 08:03

I really want to do it but feel too sick!

Thingymaboob · 21/05/2017 18:49

I love quark but can't find whether it's pasteurised or not.
Anyone?
It just says milk....

Eveninties · 21/05/2017 20:54

Quark is fine. Enjoy!

Waitingonasmile · 21/05/2017 20:54

Hi everyone. I'm 6 weeks and have 6 pounds to go until target so back on slimming world. Going to cook lots of bolognese tomorrow and have that in pasta and baked potatoes for syn free dinners.

Emma2803 · 21/05/2017 22:04

I think I'm going to join sw again in a few weeks! I am 7 weeks pregnant at the minute, had lost 24lb with weight watchers from Jan to end of March. Haven't really stuck to it since and this past few weeks and since I've been pregnant I have been starving!!! I haven't put too much of the weight back on but I'm very worried about it as I put on 4.5 stone in my last pregnancy!!!! Might wait til I get the ok from the midwife or I might just go on Thursday and jump right in!!

ScarlettInSpace · 22/05/2017 07:07

Morning all Smile

I go to group, I quite enjoy it - I tried online a few years ago and basically just lie to myself so I achieve nothing Confused, I need the group environment to make me accountable...

For example we were away this weekend so I couldn't go to weigh in, and as a result I've barely sts looking at my home scales, now I've got til Saturday to lose 2lb so i can get my 2.5 stone - not easy when I just want to eat everything in sight!

I am trying though - I've a fridge full of free food I made yesterday, oh and OH was out last night & text on his way home to see if I wanted anything from mcd's, I said no Halo

Hi everyone, i posted the other day about me being on bedrest due to an emergency stitch having to be place and was worried aboit my 26lb weight gain, im 27 weeks today, i was at my midewife appiontment today and mentioned slimming world to her and with so many people saying midwifes encouraged it i was suprised by her response Confused she didnt seem like she wanted to even talk about it and literally just changed the subject, can anyone clarify wether its safe to lose weight on this diet while pregnant (i dont mean drastic weight loss) or is everyone just trying to maintain best the can? Ive been over 18 stone before and lost it all with weight watchers, just want to be as healthy as i can be and im soooo scared of getting massive, someone pls reply x

ScarlettInSpace · 23/05/2017 00:02

Sounds like an odd response! SW are quite open that they have worked with the Royal College of Midwifery so I always thought it was recommended?

When did everyone start their extra Heakthy Extras? I'm only 5 wks today and don't want to tell my consultant until I have reached target [7lb to go], but my appetite is insane, should I just increase my HEA & HEB quietly myself?

ScotsLamb · 24/05/2017 07:42

I increased mine when I found out. Due to sickness/nausea I've not been great at sticking to plan but I've always had my 2 x HE A and B. Olson changed my milk from green to blue. I'm actually drinking more of it than I should without synning it but I'm not bothered. Lost 4lbs in the last 3 weeks and I'm 10 weeks tomorrow.

Emma2803 · 25/05/2017 21:36

I've dug out my old slimming world book!! It's only from September so not too old!! Gonna give it a go!!
Salt and vinegar crisps are my live saver at the minute, stop my nausea and heart burn!! Any recommendations for low syn salt and vinegar snacks?

hanfran126 · 13/09/2017 14:44

Mt midwife was quite dismissive of me joining slimming world and said she didn't want me looking a single pound ? I weight 18.5 and BMI of 41 I put on 5 stone with fist daughter and dnt want to repeat but lost 6 stone over fist year but steadily put back on I have joined back and my consultant was uber helpful but have to get signed by midwife each time I go so she can check myprocess here is hoping she dnt sign me off it as my consultant said they always follow midwife orders as such I dnt want to loose just maintain but if I loose surly its better for both me and baby with lower BMI ?? Xx

TeaAndToast85 · 13/09/2017 14:51

I have been planning to (BMI about 34) but I've found it so difficult to start! Carbs - particularly bread - is the only thing that gets rid of my nausea (I'm 8 weeks tomorrow) and the idea of eating loads of sloppy wet fruit and veg makes me want to vom. Maybe I will manage it in the next week or so, hoping the nausea dies down a bit x

mrskitty15 · 13/09/2017 19:18

Hello, I have been looking for a thread like this to help me. I am 12 weeks today and am struggling big time as I have and still feel really sick. I lost 2 stone before I got pregnant and am really not keen to put loads of weight on if I can help it. How do you cope with the Nausea and stay on plan?

Tigger83 · 14/09/2017 07:54

Think this is a zombie thread but might be worth starting one up of your own? I'm aiming for 15lb weight gain as I'm getting married 6 months after bubba arrives!

Loosemoose28 · 18/09/2017 18:30

Tea and Toast the bread thing is same as me. I tended to use eggs as a staple diet but cannot face them. Fruit is a no go but have just managed to start eating veg again.
