Just wondering if anyone else is doing slimming world? I was doing it before I fell pregnant have told my leader I am pregnant and intend to continue. Has anyone else continued with it successfully and managed to maintain weight, lost weight or gained minimal weight?

Reading this thread has made me feel bad about giving up! I tried to do SW at start but I've found it so hard! I'm nearly 25 weeks though and I've put on stone and half which I don't think is too bad.

Might go back to it for final trimester and try to aim for 2 stone altogether - be good to get back into the swing of things before the baby arrives

Peppaismyhomegirl · 10/04/2016 07:29

Morning! Look on pintrest for alimming world stuff loads of info. Nothing beats the classes in my opinion tho.

PeppaPigStinks · 10/04/2016 07:30

Thank you Blush. I didn't think of p interest. sadly I cannot afford the classes or online subscription otherwise I would do that.

Hi Ladies, I have been doing SW for 2 years and had nearly got to 4st, I am now 12 wks with my first and really struggling with nausea and just wanting to eat everything, I'm finding it really hard to stick to SW. I keep seeing the scales creeping up and I really want to try and maintain as best I can. How do you cope with being hungry all the time, if I'm not eating I feel sick! Any ideas for filling foods I can snack on?

Lozde · 10/06/2016 05:57

I lost 4st 8lb on slimming world a number of years ago and still go to classes to maintain now. Determined to keep it up throughout my pregnancy as don't want to end up back at square 1 afterwards!
Looking at the food do's and dont's lists in pregnancy, SW really supports anyway. And there's so much in the way of free and speed food to fill up on when hungry. SW chips are my go to snack. Good luck everyone!

Birdlet · 10/06/2016 09:38

I've been following SW for about a year and a half and plan on following it as much as poss through pregnancy too. Been feeling so rubbish the last couple of weeks though that I've not stuck to plan at all Blush I've just not had the energy and motivation to cook anything more substantial than cheese on toast!
Not feeling too bad today so going to try to do a bit of batch cooking because I so want to get back on plan - I really don't want to be back at square one after baby arrives!

waitingforwombat · 11/06/2016 22:22

I'm 21 weeks, and weigh same as at booking thanks to Sw. Didn't start following till nausea settled at 12 weeks ish, but then lost until 16 weeks, so although starting to gain now (but clearly onto boobs and bump), net weight is the same. It can be done! Don't give up if had awful first trimester, I felt really disheartened, but I'm so glad I got back on the wagon. I feel miles better for eating well, and dread to think about damage done if I'd kept on my rubbish eating. Every bit now is a bit not to have to loose afterwards!

becca240280 · 12/06/2016 22:02

Thank you @waitingforwombat, I had a chat with myself over the weekend and need to be less hard on myself, difficult after 2 years of trying to lose weight, meal planning is my key and having plenty to snack on, making some SW mini quiches to keep in the fridge at work! 😃 Also started swimming again.

dangle90 · 19/05/2017 15:09

I'd also be interested in seeing if anyone else is still here. I'm only 6.5 week pregnant but had my booking in appt today, I weigh 79kg and been told I'm in the obese category!! I'm mortified! Need to get back on with my slimming world!

Thingymaboob · 19/05/2017 18:08

Hi dangle. I'm also 79kg and my BMI is 31. Not had booking appointment yet but know what's coming. Would love to do it but craving bread and beige food. What did your midwife say?

Guardup · 19/05/2017 21:41

Hi,
I am pregnant and on SW and I'm so glad i joined. I joined 3 weeks ago and am 17 weeks pregnant. My BMI was 27 so i am classed in the overweight category and I have lost 4lbs since joining. My midwife is fine with this as I am overweight (so have it to spare) and eating very sensibly, but I think the expectation is i will start putting on in the 3rd trimester. You are able to have 2 Health A's and B's whilst pregnant and breast feeding. My hope is that I end my pregnancy the same weight I started it. I also did it through my last pregnancy with great success.... although I didn't ever completely get back to my pre baby body!! Best of luck! X

10storeylovesong · 19/05/2017 21:45

Hi all! I lost my first baby weight with SW but stopped following the plan as was doing a high protein, low carb diet with my personal trainer.

I'm currently 20 weeks and have gained 13 lbs which according to a tracker I have is 4 lbs more than I should have gained by this stage with my starting weight. I blame this on no exercise due to being high risk and living on carbs and junk food until about 20 weeks as I had an absolute aversion to anything remotely healthy. I've started loosely following my SW plan again at home and look on target to lose 1lb this week which would put me 2lbs over healthy gain (as expected to gain around 1lb a week from now). Finding it hard though as so hungry all the time!!

dangle90 · 20/05/2017 00:23

Hi thingymaboob to be honest she didn't say much, she was shocked at what I weigh because (without sounding big headed) I don't look like I weigh that much, but I'm big busted so that's where a lot of it comes from. My BMI is 30 I couldn't believe I was classed as obese I'm a size 14 so just thought I was a bit overweight. But she's had to refer me for them to keep an eye out for gestational diabetes throughout my pregnancy (I think that's what it was called).
Nice to see so many others in the same boat hopefully we can spur each other on! It's my birthday tomorrow, and I go to Croatia for a week on Sunday but after that I am getting my head back into the game!

ScarlettInSpace · 20/05/2017 07:23

Hey everyone, I've been in SW fir a few months, lost 2st 5 lbs so far & 7lbs away from target.

I just did ivf (first time I've actually lost weight on treatment- ironically it's all the failed cycles in the past that put the weight on in the first place!!) & got my bfp on weds Grin

I'm going all out now to get to target before I tell my consultant - I read that if you're a target member & get pregnant then you don't have to start paying again when your weight goes up until after the baby is born so that's an incentive!

Guardup · 20/05/2017 07:46

ScarlettInSpace that is absolutely wonderful news! Huge congratulations to you xxx

dangle90 · 20/05/2017 08:45

Awww congrats Scarlett and good luck with the weight loss! You can do it :)

ScotsLamb · 20/05/2017 08:59

I'm 9 weeks and I'm 7lbs to target. Struggling with nausea and tiredness so not really enjoying cooking or eating my creations. I'm hoping to get to target or maintain my weight just now until I'm 20 weeks. Aim is to put on no more than 1 stone.

Hotpinkangel19 · 20/05/2017 10:56

So glad I found this! I am 7 weeks pregnant and a bit fat 🙈 hoping it's okay to lose weight while pregnant? Is SlimmingWorld the best way? X

10storeylovesong · 20/05/2017 11:06

Aw scarlet, that's brilliant news!

dangle90 · 20/05/2017 11:55

I was asking the midwife hot pink and said I normally do slimming world she said that's fine with them and they encourage it because it's not like a diet as such more a lifestyle change

Hotpinkangel19 · 20/05/2017 14:48

@dangle90 Thank you, I'm going to join! X

ScarlettInSpace · 20/05/2017 15:01

Thanks everyone Grin

I think it's going to be tough though because my appetite has gone through the roof!! All I can think about is food Blush

I'm going to roast a chicken tomorrow & make some mini SW quiches so I've got some tasty free food in the fridge to stuff my face with Blush. Right after I eat this chocolate marble cake I just bought from Sainsbury's Grin

ScarlettInSpace · 20/05/2017 15:04

Another good tip I learned at group is to bake loads of potatoes in the oven all at once & freeze them, then you can have a yummy oven baked jacket potato heated back up in a couple of minutes, lifesaver for quick tasty lunches Wink

dangle90 · 20/05/2017 15:26

Good tip Scarlett! I love making there home made quiches, and there ace just to snack on a slice when your hungry. It's nice to find out about the extra healthy A & B's too because I never knew if that was a myth!
