What did you wear to give birth?

I'm planning my birth in hospital, fairly standard, but don't know what to pack to give birth in? I may end up in the birthing pool, but may not and I am clueless. Help!

I had plans to wear a tankini top as was using a pool at home. Didn't bother with anything in the end clothes were annoying me!

This time I will have the aame plans! And if I end up in hospital I will wear an old nighty or vest top. I couldn't handle the flappiness getting in the way before so might be the same. Giving birth does strange things to you, mostly in a good way.

I bought some cheap nighties with buttons down the front from Peacocks to give birth in/wear in hospital. However, I ended up getting to the hospital quite late on and had just shoved on a maternity dress and nothing else when I got out of the bath at home, and I ended up taking it off and delivering completely naked.

Nothing, either time (hospital water births). Having been prodded and poked at throughout my pregnancies, I left any remaining scrap of dignity at the entrance to the birthing unit, and was happy to sit in the water like a big sweaty naked whale in front of DH, two midwives and a student and I pooed in the water both times Blush - honestly nobody will bat an eyelid as they've seen it all before a million times!

I haven't given birth yet but bought this in M&S today.www.marksandspencer.com/spotted-minishirt/p/p22449210?prevPage=plp It's so soft and stetchy, so it will pull down for breastfeeding. Am hopefully going to be in a pool so planning to wear a tankini top. They've got some nice ones at Asda at the minute.

Longish black 3/4 sleeve empire line top with, as it turns out, plunging v neck, looked strangely glam but priorities were not showing blood, not flashing when standing and being open necked enough for skin to skin after birth. I had bikini top in hope of using birth pool but had to go delivery suite route (induction drip, suspected baby tachycardia) so got nowhere near that. Was warned if I needed EMCS it could be cut off but thought that would be least of my worries.

I like the look of that mini shirt Sophia 1984. They also do a heart print one with a scalloped neck so might get that one instead. But it's just the thing I've been looking for! Either to wear during the birth or after incase I have to stay overnight.
