Hi
Still a bit new to mumsnet but I am 18 weeks pregnant and debating with dh whether or not to find out the sex of the baby or not. We were always pretty adamant we wouldn't find out in the build up to falling pregnant but now I am pregnant and can feel the baby move I'm just so eager to find out but dh is still adamant we shouldn't and we should leave it as a surprise just wanted to know everyone else's opinions on this Smile

We found out (due any time now) DH wasn't bothered about finding out, but the second the sonographer told us it was a girl he got emotional, and now tells everyone how it was the best thing ever finding out. We had friends who had a long labour and by the time the baby was born they were too tired and drugged up to appreciate what sex it was. We had a private scan, which was in a lovely room, then went out for lunch and got unbelievably excited discussing names and nursery choices. we haven't bought anything pink for the big things, because if we have another baby we obviously want to use the same pram, furniture etc, but we have bought little outfits and my mum has knitted little pink hats and cardigans.

It's your own personal choice, that's just my positive experience of finding out :)

At the 12 weeks scan, the baby was so set on flaunting his bits that it couldn't have been a surprise for us!

I had to keep trying to cough and sneeze and wiggle my stomach around that he could show his nasal bone. Smile
