Hi Girls...just wondering if any of you know what you are having and how r u feeling? I was really really sick with my 2 girls but don't know what i'm having this time roung. It's more nausea than sickness. I'm 16 weeks this week and suffering from really bad nausea. I have been told that girls make you more sick than boys - IS THIS TRUE?

i was far more sick with dd than ds so was true for me!

SHHHHsantahasbeen · 27/12/2006 14:30

True for me as well. I was throwing up constantly with dd BUT this time around we are having a ds and I have felt sick but not been sick. Now at 35 weeks I don't have to long left to see if ds is a ds aftre all..!!

True with me..!!

Friends are also expecting girls and they to have thrown up since day one . Think its to do with the hormones from you and baby girl.

IMO I think you may have a ds..????

nutcracker · 27/12/2006 15:07

I had 2 dd's and bad sickness with both. With ds I felt slightly queasy for about a 3 weeks and that was it.

baubleloo · 27/12/2006 15:15

I had no sickness with Ds and none at all with this one which apparently is also a boy,so there may be some truth in it.

MerryBiglipsmas · 27/12/2006 15:17

i didnt want to find out what i had till i gave birth and i had no sickness at all

MerryBiglipsmas · 27/12/2006 15:17

and it was a girl!

marymillington · 27/12/2006 15:23

i threw up every day for 7 months with ds. but only 3 months with this pg - which we've been told is a girl, but hey - we'll find out for sure in a couple of weeks.

so......i reckon morning sickness has more to do with blood sugar levels and nutritional needs than what variety of baby

lulumama · 27/12/2006 15:59

much more sick with DS than DD !!

SnowyMeadow · 27/12/2006 16:45

I felt sick for 6 weeks with DS and felt sick from the moment i found out i was pg this time round and it lasted until 17wks.. I am 22 wks now and we are having a girl.

Miaou · 27/12/2006 17:23

I have found the ms starts earlier, is more intense, and lasts longer with each subsequent pregnancy. I have two girls and then a boy and am pg with no. 4. No discernable pattern here! (and I don't want to find out what the sex is either!)

elliepmummy · 27/12/2006 17:48

no sickness with either of mine and both girls!

paulaplumpbottom · 27/12/2006 18:11

My first was a girl and I had no sickness at all.

Gingerbear · 27/12/2006 18:18

I think mine is a baby.
I would have liked an antelope ideally, as they can stand within minutes of birth and can walk within 2 hours.

lollipopz · 27/12/2006 21:40

I had no sickness at all with 2dds, and was sick every day for 20 weeks with ds, so not true for me!

paddyclamp · 27/12/2006 21:43

Had a few queasy days with DS, felt sick from 6 weeks to 12 weeks with DD so true for me.

BUT might have been for 2 reasons:

  1. Having a toddler to look after is harder on your body
  1. First 3 months fell in summer with DS but in winter with DD when i feel crap at the best of times!
TheOlihantheIvy · 27/12/2006 21:49

Lol Gingerbear!

I've had 3 identical pgs, no morning sickness with any of them and have 1 ds, 1 dd and a surprise due any day. My bf had no sickness at all with her dd but threw up for the whole 9 months with her ds.

Don't think there's anything more to it than any of the other old wives tales about predicting the baby's sex tbh.

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 27/12/2006 23:35

Felt mildly sick but was not actually sick with first 2 (DS and DD) but have felt terrible this time round and not been sick but have been wretching a lot. Not sure what I am having though!

Harry2007 · 28/12/2006 13:46

You've cheered me up no end Gingerbear -I liteally burst into a fit of laughter after reading your comment!

Gingerbear · 28/12/2006 20:25

Glad I cheered you up Harry.
With DD (now 4) I got fed up of the endless 'Do you know if it is a boy or a girl?' comments, so I used to reply with this line
Not had to say anything this time around.

Harry2007 · 28/12/2006 22:28

I've just re-read it 9 hours later and am still chuckling to myself!

bethoo · 07/01/2007 03:30

i am having a boy though i was nauseous alot i only actually threw up once. at the mo i am suffering from sokme sort of flu bug and am throwing up everyday and i am 32 weeks!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/01/2007 11:00

I did this survey with everyone I knew who'd had babies and everyone said they were sick with boys and not with girls. I'm expecting a boy in April and was very sick til 13 weeks.

ScoobyDooooo · 07/01/2007 11:03

I was much more poorly when carrying dd to ds but i was never actually sick with either.

3rdTriMossTer · 07/01/2007 11:05

Gingerbear I used that line as well when people asked me "what are you having?" except for the antelope bit, will have to tack that onto the end! (I know I'm having a boy btw, but I just thought it was funny to say!)

Having said that atm I get "ooh you're big are you sure it isn't twins?" or "ooh you're massive you know you've got to squeeze that out don't you?"

This is my first so I can't compare the ms to anything else I'm afraid, but I did get it pretty badly from about week six to week thirteen.

paulaplumpbottom · 07/01/2007 12:13

Yes but for everyone that says you are sick with a boy theres another that says you are sicker with girls.
