Baby not moving

I am 24 weeks pregnant and have been feeling him move for ages. He is very active, especially after I have eaten certain foods or had some apple juice and definitely when I first wake up or am going to bed.

It occurred to me that I haven't felt him move at all today and I am not sure if I did yesterday...I can't hand on heart remember the last time that I did feel him. Is it too early in the pregnancy for me to be worried about that? please say it is

Hope everything is ok, glad you've gone in. I remember with my first pregnancy not feeling movement, I went in and the little blighter was kicking away but I still couldn't feel a thing! It's always worth checking though, midwives said they didn't mind if I came in every day if I felt something was amiss.

YouBastardSockBalls · 12/01/2016 20:44

Just GO. Why wouldn't you?

Hope it's all ok

Walkingintheraindrops · 12/01/2016 20:44

(Meant to add I was 25 weeks. When it happened later at 40 weeks I had to stay on monitor for an hour or so. It was all fine apart from they will change your risk factor to high risk after 2 instances of reduced movement So you to have to have a consultant led birth :( in my trust at least)

Flumplet · 12/01/2016 20:48

Hope you and the baby are ok op, sending you positive vibes!

before you panic too much, 24 weeks is still quite early for the baby to have established daily regular patterns of movement (I am 24 weeks and can go a whole day without feeling him some days, whereas other days he's jumping around loads). Only you know what feels out of the norm for you. Hopefully you'll have your mind put at rest very soon!

Pigeonpost · 12/01/2016 21:08

Hope all is ok. I went into delivery with Ds3 to get checked out because I was worried about lack of movement and the little bugger went nuts as soon as they put the monitor on.

goodnightdarthvader1 · 12/01/2016 21:16

Fingers crossed for you xx

TwllBach · 12/01/2016 22:03

I'm already home - he is fine and happy with a lovely strong heartbeat Smile just that he was hiding! There was an awful minute or two that felt like hours when she couldn't find the heartbeat but then it was there and I may have welled up a bit Blush and apologised profusely for wasting her time

Thank you all for listening... I know I should have just rung by myself but I hate feeling like I'll be wasting someone's time or something or that this is just normal and I should somehow just know...

That's brilliant - what a relief. So pleased for you OP - have been refreshing this page every three seconds for the last half hour to see if you'd updated. Smile

TrinityForce · 12/01/2016 22:06

So pleased for you

Enjoy the peaceful sleep knowing he's ok :)

CityMole · 12/01/2016 22:06

Totally normal to feel simultaneously worried but scared to make a fuss! Your baby is a wee monkey for giving you a fright!

badg3r · 12/01/2016 22:07

Glad all's ok! My midwife said reassurance is a hug part of their job. You should never feel like you're wasting their time Smile in my experience midwives are lovely too!

Champagneformyrealfriends · 12/01/2016 22:10

Glad all is well! Smile

Goingtobeawesome · 12/01/2016 22:12

You are never wasting time when it is your baby. Everyone put your baby first, not people's time.

Tribblewithoutacause · 12/01/2016 22:16

OP never, EVER feel silly or that you're wasting your time if you don't feel your baby move and you go in. You're not, it's just simply not a waste of time. Babies movements are a way of assessing fetal wellbeing, it's important to get checked out if your baby doesn't follow its own individual pattern. Seriously, never feel silly for ringing to get checked out.

TwllBach · 12/01/2016 22:22

He is a little monkey you know... He's going to be trouble, just like his dad Smile the sonographer had to tell him off (the baby, not DP) at both scans because at the 12 week scan he wouldn't straighten his neck so she couldn't get a measurement and at the 20 week scan he wouldn't turn over for her! And

So pleased you got checked and all is well. Great news.

Harverina · 12/01/2016 22:45

Glad all is well!!

And you are never wasting anyone's time.

Count the kicks campaign advocates always getting in touch with your midwife if there is any change in your babies movements.

bonzo77 · 12/01/2016 22:48

Great news. Don't hesitate to go any time you're worried. I went through this countless times. With my third (and therefore 2 older kids to plan round) the midwife was cross with me for waiting to arrange childcare for the others before coming in. She was very clear, just come in even with children in tow.

Thanks for updating.

YouBastardSockBalls · 13/01/2016 21:10

NEVER hesitate to go in if you're worried. The midwives REALLY REALLY REALLY don't mind.
Trust me.

Glad it's all ok xxxx
